How Many Of You Wheel With Auto Trans?
OldSlowReliable replied to Vanganator's topic in General Forums
i love my auto, it cruises up dunes, although it may be roaring the whole way @ like 5000-6000rpm I kinda wish it was manual for the amount of city driving I do and its kinda a PITA to feather the pedal to choose gears, especially on highway (but my trans is on its last legs, and I'm on 33's) I know a guy who wheels his 2dr HARD and he apparently he said he hates wheeling with his 5spd.....but thats just his opinion I guess -
I know mine is rusting from inside out, you will notice paint bubbling around the holes along the frame, atleast thats how I know on mine

Bender Built WD21 Rear Bumper
OldSlowReliable replied to nige's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
I thought I posted in here but guess not...odd.... Maybe add some oval LED brake or reverse lights? I wouldn't have done some stuff you did, but I have differing priorities than you, looks good! How much lift is on there? -
I took my tank out to do my frame rails, but it was probably unnecessary and a PITA, but I did feel alot safer, and I repainted it after gas stripped all the weather protection off... If you were closer, I would TOTALLY do it for a free welder lawl

There was previous bodywork done on my pathfinder's 1/4 panel....couldn't tell for YEARS until one day I noticed the diff in color....musta been big cause they painted a BIG area...and all the evidence is 3 bondo snakes from bondo'ing over the three holes whoever it was drilled to pull the panel out... Slide hammer @ HF= 20 bucks Bondo Tub- 15 bucks Spray Paint from walmart to match color- 8 bucks
-
1k sounds kinda steep personally....
-
step by step repair thread? I got alot more than that on my wd....not sure what route to take
-
Idk if its diff for an r50, but if it isn't, make sure your pushing/pulling in the correct location

go find a small 4x4 shop in your area (not a chain) and ask them for a price on just the arms(arms and shackles, no shocks), they can order them that way.... mine came to 240 with shipping, and he didn't charge me tax. I won't mention the shop's name so he doesn't get in trouble with RC for underselling... The best deals can't be posted on the interweb... when I met him he said he never charges full retail price, so I think he may have cut like 20 or 30 bucks off, but it still beats 400

200 for brand new rough countries... Harness bar is one thing not mentioned for the WD21
-
don't turn the bottom bolt.....I cranked mine against the bump stops, cause it was on jacks....by turning the bottom of the bolt...I wasn't paying attention but it was grinding down so its now about 1/8" thinner than the other...lol

HAHA, I should show you a pic of MY exhaust tip! Rusty, smashed, black, and ripped up a new style?

unless of course you have a gaping rust hole in the bottom of that cavity...lol

Cold air intake for 95 pathfinder?
OldSlowReliable replied to zelix's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I do lotsa river/water/mud in the summer, but its winter now and theres not wheelin -
for the 1000+ bucks for an ARB, i'd say go for a $300 winch, sliders, skid plates,on board air, and something like a new rear bumper.....all that stuff, or one thing you can't see!? Plus, you KNOW you will use all the stuff I listed atleast once and they will save you lots of grief and money in the longrun (do I need to get pictures of my rocksliders and underbody?), whereas its a crapshoot whether a locker will really make a big difference for you or not... Heck, you could get an ARB Bumper and a Winch for less than the price of an air locker.... Btw, that sale is for all ARB, not just rugged rocks, they sent me an email i'm pretty sure..

Cold air intake for 95 pathfinder?
OldSlowReliable replied to zelix's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
to get back to you, its not 3", its more like 3.5 or so....but with some creative maneuvering and a dremel drill bit, i enlarged all the holes so it would cover all of the rubber gasket around the tube, however sparingly.. -
Well part of it could be with the leverage of the bikes being on a hitch attachment, so 150lbs that far back could actually be more like 300lbs as if it were directly on the hitch receiver, or like 800lbs directly above the axle.... If you got a buck to spend I'd get some air helper things, the kind that just sit inside the spring until you turn em up, then they repel some of the load for the heavier towing, or even that And slightly stiffer springs....or air helpers and a 1/5" lift?

If memory serves me, 5k series shocks usually run about 40-50 per

Bucket Seats And 5 Or 6 Point Belts?
OldSlowReliable replied to zachbiz's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
my version of the harness bar wouldn't cut into the back seat area except for the middle person would have to straddle two supportive bars....I also very rarely have passengers in the rear, if ever... -
took my antenna out to get in the garage the other day, and I still had FM

Bucket Seats And 5 Or 6 Point Belts?

harness bar....I have a design all built in my head, but I don't have a real great way of getting it on paper -
V6-Xe Cold Startups - Best Method ?
OldSlowReliable replied to DoctorBill's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
your cold startup sounds like my regular startup :S -
sounds like a more severe version of whatever I got. I've noticed a wet spot on the inlet for the brake line on my rear drum, and my booster is covered in brake fluid stain (assuming master cylinder)... If you decide to replace everything, look @ getting loaded calipers, oreillys auto parts had some name-brand for like $60 per side w/nice pads and everything..
