  1. Dang, I wish I lived near you, I woulda grabbed all those parts for that cheap! Hope your trip is going/went better!
  2. Personally, I'd rather comp cut the rear on a 2dr, chop the top and have a soft top made, and stretch it 6" either way with an SAS 4 link...
  3. one thing stands out to me about that......the cage doesn't look like it has enough triangulation in the rear and a couple other spots (although it would probably be fine) but I'm just paranoid about that stuff, especially when the rest of the body is gone (no stock protection) more body would have looked alot better... I'd buy it...but not for 8k
  4. thats just what we need.....bigger rims on the road
  5. tirerack has ltx m/s2 tires (don't know difference) for 116 each....doesn't sound half bad to me considering the Kumho KR21's are listed @ 71 bucks and I'm not completely satisfied with the ones on my car (they are getting bald though)
  6. hey, if you have the tools, time, and skills to remove the engine successfully, I say go for it....that way you can give it a full look over, including things like timing belt, gaskets, exhaust studs, and clean it up all perty like... But, if you are unsure you're able to handle it, I'd avoid it at all costs. Better to have an engine in and have a harder time than get it out and not be able to get it back in..
  7. Personally, something so vulnerable and such, I'd be weary of spending that kind of $$ If your looking for something a bit cheaper, walmart says hella's for like 50 bucks or something around there, and I see a fair bit of people using them.
  8. I was actually really surprised with their capability (for such a good highway tire) I never got stuck with those due to lack of traction, even going through door deep mud ruts, 3.5+ feet of water, and climbing up sand dunes... Haven't gotten to put the BFG's to the same test, but for something that has been on the truck for god knows how long, has a fair bit of tread left, and ran straighter and smoother than any other tire i've owned, I was amazed at its capability
  9. If you have good alignment and even treadwear, theres no reason why you shouldn't get a good 40k+ out of a set of bfg a/t That being said, I LOVED my michelin ltx m/s more than any other tire i've owned, great offroad, AMAZING snow, AMAZING sand, and a beauty on the road/highway
  10. follow up question- notice anything on road?
  11. If you aren't going to use the rear seats, you can also just unbolt the bottom portion, then fold down the rest for another 12"+ of space
  12. If your looking for a primarily offroad tire, I'd look at them.....you get the performance of a high price offroad tire, but don't have to worry about slicing open a 250 dollar tire...
  13. I would have done more overkill than that personally (I don't trust wood...) and I'd still add some outriggers and sandbags for stability once the load is on it... whats your plan on all that rust on the front?
  14. I wanted to get them, but my mom wouldn't let me (pathy was supposed to become DD) but I regret not getting them every time I drive it.
  15. Moog Tie rods fixed alot of my play steering, and a good alignment...but I should mention that my steering WHEEL moves when locked in position, so it would move significantly, but it was just moving the steering system, make sure your steering wheel is held firm
  16. My truck being a rust bucket, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the rear bumper bolts came off with almost not trouble, a 2ft breaker bar to loosen em up, then a ratchet...easy as pie Could you take a photo of the hitch please? Just the mounting brackets, I have in idea but i'm not sure it would work
  17. I'd replace the tie rods and balljoints, not all too costly, and it can't really hurt (unless they are obviously OK) Otherwise, the tires may be just accenting a bad CL or something thats always been there.
  18. It was an option, but you can buy aftermarket kits from several companies, if I'm not mistaken some of the bigguns are rough country, rancho, and a couple others.....
  19. weld a nut onto that bolt, get one that has an ID that will fit around the bolt head, then weld it on, remove with wrench via engine bay for better control, or attempt to remove via fender access with socket.
  20. I siphoned gas out of my tank no problem....it took some convincing to get the tube into the tank to negotiate a kink in the tubing, but I can definitely say I siphoned out of it...
  21. Idk if you mean both wheels turned in same direction while on the ground....but for that test, you gotta get em both off the ground, put it in neutral, then manually push one wheel
  22. Am I stupid, cause I though someone said there was a 15 and a 21......idk
  23. There is a pic somewhere on google of a military truck with 8 jerry cans on the back, on a big rack mounted to the back carrier, of course, 4 are fuel, 2 are water, and 2 are diesel (i think, maybe something else) but you could make something to carry 4 jerry cans.... I've also seen people get a roof rack, and put 4 cans up there, they put them on their back so they don't tip off and mount them along the inner edge of either side.... You could also upgrade to the 21 gallon tank if you have the smaller of the two..
