  1. I do the same. Actually had to use one of my spares to limp a Frontier off a trail after one of his bent. Tapers are not the same so it trashed my spare, but worked enough to get him back to camp where there were people who did have spare Frontier ones.
  2. Pbobably alignment, but you migh go over and recheck all the lift components, make sure all the bolts are properly tightened, etc.
  3. Heh, my front bumper still moves on me. I think about the only fix is to run into a wall and while it's held in place weld the extention tabs to the frame :X pssd
  4. My rear didn't line up either, had to finesse the body around to get the threads to catch.
  5. Actually, I have been formulating a plan for an adapter to bolt in place of the gimongus air cleaner  . Basically a steel box made to fit the gasket around the opening, tall enough to use the stock cleaner cover bolts. Then cut out/ splice in a 3" round opening that can be plumbed to. Just an idea ATM, but hope to make a prototype soon.
  6. Which brand? I know the thing that kills mine is the cold weather, they halfway work when it is warm. I also know the ones I can buy locally for $25 each don't last worth a $h!t pssd .
  7. The X is still barely an SUV, getting closer every design change to a SMW* just like the Pathfinders. *Soccer Mom Wagon
  8. Just makes it easier to work on if it's out of the truck But yeah, pull the plastic column cover off, undo the wire connection (2 if it has the cruise controls in it), then it has 2 screws holding the switch assembly onto the column. I used needle files and emery cloth to clean mine, no issues since.
  9. Helped a college bud work on his Camaro in one of those at Wright Pat. I thought it was cool. They gave you a stack of like 5 "chips" that you could use to borrow certain tools (from impacts to engine hoists). Those chips were marked with the bay, so if something wasn't returned they knew who to go after.
  10. Yeah, sounds like it. Remove the switch, open up the semi-clear plastic part on it and clean the contacts inside.
  11. Yes they are. I helped install a 3" on a freind's HB last summer, those front bumper brackets are way better than the flat tabs they put in the Pathy kits pssd .
  12. I've seen what I think your describing done on newer Pathys and Xterras, the ones I saw they just used the wire closet shelving and flipped it over so the part that would hang down in the closet, was turned toward the ceiling in the truck and kept the items from falling toward the front, it was accesable with the hatch open, and with the hatch closed it kept stuff from falling out the back. In the ones I saw done like that, they used clips already in the ceiling on their trucks to attach them though. On ours you might get away with using the mounting hardware they make for mounting them in a closet and just bolt it to the inner body structure.
  13. The Hardbody kit won't work for the Pathy, they require a diiferent spacer set and bolt types. As for automatic, it's run off cable, so a body lift causes no issues there.
  14. :o You got an oddball, 92 2dr? Not to mention the 2.4L, not many with those.
  15. Looks like the same winch Sam's Club was selling.
  16. Yeah, that metal part is questionable. Did they just make 2" round tube spacers, if so do they have anything to keep them centered? Or, did they weld the body to the frame?
  17. Not sure how it works but I read a thread about dropping the front mounts like 1/2"-1" without any drop brackets. That was about 2 years ago on AC's forums.
  18. 3hrs for a 30min job? Simple as pulling the AC idler bracket off. pop off PS belt, loosen the 1 bolt holding the hard pipe behind the PS belt, undo clamp on short hose, 3 bolts on T-stat housing. Reverse operation and done. Just use a swivle socket on the housing bolts and they are easy.
  19. They do make torque sockets for impacts that set the right torque on the bolts, but few seem to know how to use or don't bother to use them. It's not the Dayton 500, you don't throw the lig into the impact socket and go, start all lugs by hand then hit them with the impact. I do all my own tire work, that way I know it's done right
  20. I got a set of Taylors for my 93 from AC. Not planned, but they do match color wise
  21. :cool2: Looks good, similar to the design I plan to make for my 88.
  22. You would probably blast a hole into the top of the piston too Derrik
