Tar paper (aka roofing felt) is a different animal all together. This stuff was originally sold as a freeze barrier to be run at the edge of the roof under tar paper. Tar paper doesn't adhear to the surface so moisture could backup/ build up under it. This stuff was made to stop that since it made complete contact and bonded with the roof sheathing. It is a rubber based material.

Actually they missed a lot, thats why they are trying to build something new and improved. The Hummer is a great vehicle, but still has a lot of limitations.

Lets put it this way, a couple competition rock crawlers tried a fully IFS/IRS set up in IIRC the '02 season and got stomped. Only thing the IRS is good for is soccer moms' a$$.

Actually there was a thread over on AC about similar stuff about 1.5-2 years ago. About the only real difference in the end is the lack of a paper face on it that has a name brand. If a name matters to you.

Plain and simple SEMA pig. A bunch of people threw parts at it to show off at aftermarket shows. BTW, something to concider with IRS is the CV angles, just like IFS. Yeah you can lift the end at the wheel, but not much before you need a diff drop kit. -thnkboutit-

IIRC the install kits are about $60 each.

My rear mounts were a tad to small around for my 6x9s so I just trimmed the opening with some aviation snips and they fit right in. I was able to use the stock grill/panel also.

It's possible to look nice and be Offroadable I just wish those rims weren't discontinued, I'd like to have a 5th for a spare.

Where are you located? Up to you in the end really, $500 in parts to fix what you have or sell it to someone who would fix it and buy another one that might break -thnkboutit- If you fix this one, then at least you know how new the parts in it are.

The fabric is to absorb condensation in the air box. The tube over the radiator is a resonator, just there simply to change the tone of the air intake.

I put a clamp on style Thule rack on my 93 and attached the basket to that.

Yep, just get a 2" clamp on plumbing cap and plug off the hot air pickup and then remove and cap the vac line to the actuator.

Let the timing belt snap I think what the review is pointing out is that the issues with the 3.3 are old news, so they have mostly been addressed, but the 3.5 is still new and the long term issues it might have not come out yet.

Yeah, it is on the hatch side. I unplugged my switch in the hatch. I had tried all the "fixes" and the problem would just come back 6 months later.

True, ever notice what Xterra drivers do at the trail head....de-plastic, if they don't take it off, it will get ripped of on the trail.
