Hey Trail! That 2nd pic in the line-up is just beautiful...all the trucks the rocks...looked like perfect weather WoW!!

I had "Type R" bolts, or at least I think that is what they were...anyway the arrows seemed to be just slightly off of the full correction... My alignment guy is the best. He has a sign about not bringing your own parts, but that is just a warning. Of course my parts are usually on the truck already and just need his attention. This dude pointed out on my other pathy that I had a little wobble in the front left, noticed my Warns and new brakes told me to get back in there and tighten the lock nut thingy more...he was right...saved me a wheel bearing or gaskets or both anyhow....I love my little country town even though it wants to be BIGG!

Yo man, this is the 2nd pathy R50 that I have lifted and still there is no way to guess good alignment. Make sure that you are happy with the suspension up front and go get an alignment...EVERYTHING is better when aligned! My alignment guy told me I got "close" on one side, but I still can't make them toe different without having his gauge (& equipment).

REALLY..... the WD was a trendsetter, truck tough but family friendly....yes even those got blingy wheels back in the day...but they weren't bigger than 16's (and that was super huge then) the R50 was a new direction towards luxury refinement, looks, then ability, with furthered power (due to the American race for ponies) the R51 was a reson to continue pimping the ride! Tv's, NAV, TOW POWER!! MORE SEATS!! the WD?? X was a reason to look back at what is really important...ride or trail?? the point is that all of these vehicles in stock form not only compete but in many areas beat the competition. Money, luxury, power, ability, function, size, looks, power, money, cost, looks.....<-------hmmm what happened there anyway? My r50 can compete in stock form with anything else in its price range, and several out its price range, and yes thanks V6 Nissan does over engineer...that is why all of our rigs last so long! I can only wish I had the chance at a TD patrol...damn that thing is sweet! When rigs are offered with a stock clino, WoW!

Seems like every couple of years a car manufacturer tries something with multiple spark plugs again....was it the early z24's that had extra plugs? Lol, but it ran like Hell!!

Right on, there are 3 ,little black boxes in the center of the valve coves on either side...these are the coils. The plugs are underneath. The coils have cute little bolts holding them fast. You CAN change them without removing the intake(s). I spent about 1.5 hrs changing mine, I was surprised soo much time elapsed, but I wanted to becareful instead of having to replace a coil! On these engines, the plugs are right in the middle of the intake and exhaust valves...man those Chevy's are tough to change plugs on too! Go through the wheel well on some!! Think Chevy blazer!

I guess it does make sense with the all-mode doing its thing, but I didn't know either!

Greetings! I would stick with the floor mounted shifter so you are garaunteed to be able to use the Warn Hubs....get a truck with low miles as possible, LSD will be tough to find (I thought so anyhow). When I was shopping at auctions, I must have looked at 25-30 Paths from 2002-2004 and only saw 1 that had the lsd, not a good average! Read the pinned section about the power valve screws, it is an easy fix. Ihave only read of a few that had problems under 50K miles. I also can't say taht an 04 would be better than an 02 in terms of the problem....but for adding manual hubs the 01-02 OEM wheels are bored big enough to handle them! .......Got questions? Agreed! In my 98 I replaced the coolant temp sensor at about 90K and got 2 mpgs back....I was really excited about this maint. because it was sooo easy and about $24. I would look here first. If you have the loot replace all 4 O2 sensors and never think about it again, or for at least 85-100K.

I understand almost all of what you said except for the holes in the 3rd member. And how do I find out if it is a h233a or b. Thanks for the response! This seems to be a quiet topic, though the outcome seems well worth it!

Does anyone know if the 4.9's from the Xterra will work on the pathy? I would be swapping the gears in the rear and the whole from member. They are salty but if I am going to tear open a 100% functional part of the OEM truck it has to be a sweet upgrade!!

Lift = Yes 32's = I wouldn't do it again I got 265/75/16 and I would get 265/70/16 so that there would be no rubbing issues...maby less wide but tallver if that is possible Brakes = Yup upgrade to slow you better or at least stong OEM's

I found them to be magnetic on my magnetic screw driver...they are zinc plated or something that makes them look like brass. I used the MEDIUM threadlocker, as it should be plenty strong and it prevents them from shaking loose, which is apprently the problem. They are power/swirl valves...the swirl valve actuator is what opens and closes them. At this point I would say that you can definately re-use the gaskets, as I have had my mannies off 2x and used the one set over with no ill affects. I would say to spend the money on a new PCV valve from the deal (so it fits right). This piece is what made my intake look amber in color!! It is under the bottom manifold on the left valve cover (when you are facing the engine) and it is facing toward the middle of "V" at the back.

I had the front out on my 02 for like 1 week, 2?? miles....started making the front outter shoulders of the revos look like they were melting! Sooo, this had to come up eventually! :worthless: New truck! New truck! New truck!

That steering wheel is super hot!! Nice pick, way to be OEM custom!

Tell Advance that they caused a missfire in your engine and that they are defective, however you would like to try another plug...they most likely will take them back...they are my FAVORITE parts store!! I have 2 near me and they took back a set of Iridiums from my 98 pathy, after they said that they thought for sure that they would take care of my missfire. Turns out it was injectors, and I spent the entire store credit plus $30 that day sooo show them that you will spend more and they will not hold you up. I have never had to get tough in Advance, this makes them my favorite! They showed me, in their computer, that as a DIY consumer I spent over $3400 in one year with them (I do light side work for friends and family), so they said no sweat!

Dude I just pm'd you about the hubs....but do you know they will work on the Xterra too?

You should know that these are the largest problems with the vehicle provided you service the tranny, its cooler, and its fluid; replace the O2 sensors then enjoy the truck!!

Have had Iridiums in my Altima, BMW, Previous 98 pathy, and now the 02 pathy...the 02 only had 47K when I put them in....no improvement. MPG's are too close to give credit to the plugs, but maybe that was the 2% increase over the Laser plats that were still very new!!! '01 Altima...CURED a nasty missfire '98 Pathy...helped hide an injector based miss fire '98 BMW 323Ic....by far the best response...absolutely awesome!!

Not much different, colors are a little better, and the style is only slightly different. I really love my 02 fabric...gray/blk. If I were to let go of the fabric it would have to be for QX4 leather...shows how much I really love the fabric in this model!

AFAIK YES!!! I had 96 leather and it appeared that it would bolt right into my 02...so go for it!! If you want we can swap measurements on your bolt holes to mine just shoot me a PM!

So my Toluene turns into a debate, but has anyone else tried it? I will yield to maybe only VQ's seeing a difference....Navy, give it a shot...Sammy B got to drive the truck with a tank of it....wait until your gas gauge says a hair over 3/4 full and add a gallon, this will make an unscientific 94.??? octane. This is technically 10+ points higher to make just 1 more octane number. Why on earth would Jim Wolf Tech reccommend me using 93 OCT when I had cams installed in my 98?? The cams did not change compression, only how much air and fuel made it into the cylinders. Since you are right about fuel with higher octane having a higher burn rating, it must have something to do with having a complete and cleaner burn. Most gas companies have higher detergent amounts in their higher octane fuel...and added bnefit of running higher octane. Another benefit to running higher octane, that has been avoided in our discussion here. Perhaps a cleaner engine runs better. Incidentally I did run a wideband and Super AFC on my path with cams, and there was NO wiring diagram. I was in fact sucessful and tuned it myself. This doesn't mean that there wasn't room for improvement, just that I am not just some dumba** putting chems in his tank making "Tornado" claims. Why not provide a postitive feedback on something some one has tried...frankly dude I will run whatever in my VQ whether you think it makes a difference or not. I will continue to rave about my home-made plexi heatshield for my intake, the oil catch can that I installed (with filter media) with new PCV that has caught about .25 ounce of oil from going into my intake in only 300 miles, and continue swearing that the best improvement yet was bypassing the coolant to the TB. I will continue to swear by my REVO's, Warn Hubs, Infinity perfect 12's, Memphis brand amps........these are things that I like reguardless of what you think. Until I see something that convinces me that it works better for someone who respects my opinions I probably will continue not caring about their opinion.

Anything electrical can be moved, but how on earth does that shifter come off?? Chevy from back in the day--cavalier, beretta, corsica had the same push button on handle deal and there was replacement shifters for them, there has to be some for the path, just without that buttom like LAX said....lots of work equals truly custom!!
