  1. Very close Bow...I think that all the LE all mode came lsd...as part of the no slip thoughts they wanted to sell. LE leather should all have side airbags also. Hmm, though I was wrong about the power valves in the manual tranny's. Dan, have you test drove the VQ pathy's yet? The power is somewhat hidden, you don't realize how much it has on a test drive...but during every day driving...wow.
  2. I don't know why that wouldn't work....I mean as ghetto as it sounds why wouldn't a shop vac with a piece of cheese cloth (to kep oil and small pieces from being siphoned)over the end work?? Or even a hand pump, like for brake line flushing, with a suction cup end on it work? Ok, now you have single handedly taught several of us about the lifter style found in post 8/01...so what was in -8/01 ? Turns out my girl is an 06/02, I would think that 8/01 covers all the 2002 models. I spent some time looking at the "bucket" style lifter...pretty neat, does look fairly fail proof other than general wear that everything is suseptable to. Reason of design, less metal and less expensive. TMan...what on eath is in the first run VQ pathy's??
  3. Sweet! these are the pics without the cover that I couldn't find! Look how they capped all the vacuum lines that operate the actuator...but all the lines still run right to it! Great Find!! So now Riddler, Riddle me these!! Is this really why the HP is greater but the TQ is lower in a Manny....and why didn't Nissan just make a different intake for the manual or why on Earth did they not just leave the valves in? Your super find gets me thinking all of the ????'s
  4. What constitutes the reprogram? I thought that was not necessary but fore the 01 models where the ECM was heating the O2's up too hot too fast and shortening their lives. I don't think that the 2002 needs a re program....just quit using cheap gas! JK mang! But, please if I'm wrong help me out, I was fairly sure it was just 01.
  5. Screw all of the VG/VQ stuff Dan, go get another 99 R50 (I think they look more classic), and stuff a VH45 in it! Then roar around like a pathy on roids!!
  6. Yo DAN!! Here is a sweet VQ 5 spd on ebay with only 37K miles and a sweet color!!! Actually its nicer than mine! Sunroof and in dash OE Changer! The cloth is just Schaweet!
  7. Yeah, unfort. they all have the exact same intake. The only difference offered on the intake itself is drive by wire in 2004..no throttle cable---funny if you look at pics of the drive by wire, all the throttle cable brackets are still there...just no cables...LOL wasted a little cash there didn't they?
  8. Clay Bar! Use Meguires quick detail for lubricant and any brand auto clay bar...this is = to somthing like 15000 grit sand paper (super fine) and it is somewhat tacky so it picks up debris....this will make your ride feel like it was just buffed!! Do not rub too hard with the clay, or too much in one area, without the lubricant this will start removing the clear coat. It is very easy to use and takes almost 0 effort...no elbow grease needed. Easiest description is to pretend that you are using MS Paint and coloring in a large section of your screen! Spray the Meguires Quick Detail on the clay bar, work the bar (or piece of a bar) until it is soft in your hand Spray the area on the car wipe wipe wipe over a 1-2' section If you feel the bar catching the paint, spray more Quick Detail and keep on chuggin' When all finished I recommend waxing the area since you just removed the wax and oxidation, dirt, calcium...whatever. After you dry the area run your fingers over the spot and now you will want to clay the whole thing!
  9. Man...stop that kind of talk! That thing is only technically totalled...if they give you a nice enough check bu it back and go get an ARB front, used headlight/corner light/grille fender and door and back in business....unless there is real hidden damage that truck is crying as loudly as you are!!! We are all here to help you get parts...where is that Stryker guy at??! I still think he has a whole truck in his garage in pieces!! ....hood too, looking at the front end it looks like the whole suspension survived?
  10. Yup yup!! Not hard at all. You can use the OEM grommet under the storage tray to send wires out...that grommet is on both side and pulls right out to drill out and stuff back in!!
  11. VQ40...yeah Dan didn't say anything about a newer X....hmmm.
  12. Lol, sweeeet! I'll p.u. and pay in person! However, me thinks there is another R50 in your future!
  13. Got mine from Advance, and got the Brake light co-ordinator also...this is necessary so that the trailer can use the brakes and parking lights off the pathfinder circuit.
  14. Very sweet vehicles!(IMHO of course) Man if you already have a license than shoooot you're ready to rock out with your schmock out! Lol!! Dibs on the TJM if you land another rig!! ...and please if you decide so...stick around!!
  15. That's what I use also! Am on my 4-th set (I think?). When the flakes from the clamps get really intense while using them I swap them out...2 complete lifts or lowers all 4 corners is about as long as I would keep them...then swap for new!
  16. Yo man! Both side of the fence here! Cam'd out VG33E, SAFC II, Wideband lots of fun! Lift, tires .... I completely identify with the wonder about the difference between the 2 rigs. The old Path (R50) even looks more like a classic Nissan, in fact despite its sexy sheet metal my R50 late version looks nothing like any other Nissan !! Frontier--nope, Xterra-same, Armada-nope, Quest?-nope, Alty, Max, 350---nope nope nope...it really shares no relation to all the other nissans. The only similarity is to the X and that is body shape overall, not the front or rear fascia...but you, my friend, have a steel bumper--now you're talking!! I have made the transition--yet I am still no offroader (I don't count yards, curbs, etc as any of that type of off roading could happen in a car), and love this engine and this truck...same familiar territory inside, better (perhaps) interior quality, way stronger engine---CRAZY torq----part your old girl out and keep those 4.63's, you will be ahead! Or swap the 4.363's into your betsy and still sell her! Take the plunge, know that power is much more pronounced and will be unlocked by a simple intake, hubs and exhaust (I haven't done that last one yet). I will caution you that the VQ is sooo smooth that I felt that it wasn't the same "personality" truck. I am now thinking that with a flowmaster that she will gain back some of the Nissan grunt. I would also like to add the K&N intake, not jsut the POP. .....I have seen 5 spds in the US only up to 2002 albeit hard to find...I have yet to see an 03, but they have to be out there from old reviews I have read showing the Manual as an option. Shoot for an 02...Navy kept me looking at 02's and I am super happy about it +++now they are right around 10K after some haggling with a dealer. If you really want a steal PM me, a good friend of mine is a dealer and will hook you up straight from the auction in Manheim PA for a REAL song and a dance!!! psst...I bought my '02 with 44K last Fall for 9995.00 and a tip for my buddy! My chrome silver (XE--SE) has 52K with not even a funny smell!!! 4.63's to come!
  17. I have the AC lift with a 3/4 steel spacer and got away with just 1 set at the top, "small modification at the bottom on the passenger side". This is what my alignment guy said...he is the man so....what he says goes for me! You just gotta find a shop that does exactly what they are supposed to, all the time.
  18. found'em....you can shop by typing "Pathfinder o2" then look for your year and the # of wires you need....aren't they all 4 wire from 96+ ? Here is some for $30 after shipping for a VQ35.... Ebay Bosch O2 sensors, new w/out box
  19. Did 2 of the 4 on my 98, much easier to use the universal. If you like, snip the wire very close to the OEM O2 sensor, make the pig tail while under the truck and spin the new one in with anti-sieze. Making the pigtail under the truck is tough, but consider unplugging and chasing the wire route isn't easy either!...unless it is in the upper manifold...completely a pain then!
  20. Thanks for keeping me straight...and your updates are priceless! Have you called Nissan NA to get/give info on the problem?
  21. Any clue how this could have happened? This is rather upsetting, it sounds as if the valve train is a "throw-away"...I had a mech, whom I do not like, go on and on about how all nissans are junk waiting to blow...so hearing that there is NO valve adjustment sounds as if once it is broken you just pitch it and get new.
  22. Lol, thats great! You're lucky it let you tighten it, sometimes they just spin and spin and spin! Those OEM's last a while, I put mine back in after the KYB started sucking...now 52 on the clock with no real issue. My driver side makes a small clunk when almost at full lock, but that is rarely a concern.
  23. I would first drain a some oil (1 qt) and add a quart of ATF run the engine for a few mnutes---(listen for noise to go away??) then drain and change the oil & filter...whatever gunk has built up will now be in the filter. If the atf does not clean out enough stuff to quite that ticking then its not just a sticky lifter. A buddy and I did this to a Caddy Deville with 273 on the clock...pretty neat! Unfort, it also had a head gasket leak, so noises went down but the head gasket was another story!
  24. Yikes! Funny that these things are never in town where more pedestrians are injured from speeding...highway fatality is only high due to the interstate speed be it 55 or 85 death is way more prevelant...in town oh well sh** he just got a couple broken bones for walking across the road when that guy ran the red light or sped around a corner and failed to yiled to a ped-xing!!!
