  1. Hi Dowser, never chatted with you as I used to be 98Silverpathy now 02 but anyhow, I just love seeing old memebers show back up so Cheers!!
  2. Agreed Simon...I had to do that with my CRX as it had several integra and 99 Civic parts on it--so Autozone has many many years and types of vehicles under my name...even the ones that knew what I was doing would still ask--is this for the Integra? Lol, funny sh**!
  3. Is that true? OG that sucks bad--hope all is well--likewise hope that the bubbler worked and no more bang bangs happened!
  4. Guys, really---GET IN THIS !! I belong and answer my 2 second survey and add facts about my truck and it takes longer to log in than it does to enter info and answer questions---this entire site is about sharing love/hate senarios with you vehicle....just do it!!
  5. Got my muffler from "Ourdealsrock" on ebay..submitted an offer...it was instantly accepted which means I may have been able to get it even less!! It came to my house from SDakota in 4 days free shipping. The Y pipe came from Performancepeddler.com and was just offered at this price. An adapter , well the closest adapter I could find was still way off I think it was 1 7/8 to 2 1/4, but maybe I should have tried this anyway, would have looked better under the truck, but the weld will def. hold! I will get a vid of this asap...my first vid yaay! As far as the Magnaflow mufflers go...I had one less than 1 week after I got my truck and cut is off the same day in favor of the OEM exhaust. This muffler reduced waaay to much back pressure and lost me waaay too much torq. I had the dual in and out model with their "X" flow design inside, I also used 2 1/4 pipe from front to back dual/dual--you could arguable say this was my problem, but I still thought with the pipe size converted back near OEM that the magnaflow was also too loud and un refined for my likes. Ask anyone with an early 95 LT1 Camero vs a 1996 LT1 Camero about the "Y" piping and cat converter(s) underneath---the 95 will love the open ended exhaust, the 96 will lose so much that it feels like a peppy V6---pretty crazy science, but it is not myth.
  6. Y pipe = $24 shipped Aero 2525XL = $158 shipped Friends garage and some okay welds = $75 Muffler is lifetime warranty Y pipe is stamped stainless (lifetime last anyhow) Labor--go harass himif it fails ! I kept stock pipes before and after muffler---this is why it is kinda cruddy--OE front pipes are like 1 3/4" and single exit pipe is like 2 1/4 so big beads of weld slag to fill nasty gaps!
  7. I have a different alternative--or at least in my area--it is a Dekka--SeaMate. It is rated fairly low, however still in Nissan's range of "OK". It is the 8a24m and puts out 470 CCA with 660 CA at 32F. I have had this battery for 4 years with NO problems! I got mine local for $95
  8. Lol, wow I feel important! So I get the truck back to notice that it full fills most of my expectations quickly! Sound--The exhaust note is strong on acceleration from a stop to about 3000 rpm, then continues to soften to a stock tone all the way to interstate speeds! Heavy acceleration leads to a 2 second burp of exhaust note then back to throaty intake sound acceleration. From behind the vehicle the note is there however raspy, meaning another resonator would be perfect--other suggestions later! Power--This muffler provided GREAT low end torq---perahps several more than the butt dyno can accurately tell (10?). Acceleration is smooth--so smooth that the transmission even switches smoother indicating the free flowing exhaust. When the truck drops a gear to passing it does seem to have lost the quick whippy grunt it had, however the speedo is climbing faster than I remember....so overall maybe more low end torq and better HP in the higher RPM--? Oddly enough this is exactly what they claim! MPG--So far on the Scangauge, I am showing exactly (about!) 4-5 MPG HWY and 3-4 CTY...I am truly impressed! On average at 65 MPH the Scangauge shows steady fluctuations from 18-21 MPG HWY...now it is showing 21-26 (it was quite windy here today, this may be reason for the 21 or the 26)--CTY it usually shows a larger fluctuation of 13-18...now it is showing 16-21. **Suggestions** If I did this again from scratch I would probably buy the un-resonated muffler and the resonator seperate...the reason is that I am guessing that the small resonator in the front of my muffler has to fight the slight suction that the immediatly placed muffler/tubine produces...still leaving me with some raspy sound instead of smooth even exhaust.
  9. Right -o- ! **Edit** Concieveably, if you used wheel adapters to space the wheel 1.5" from the actual hub, you then MAY be able to get then to set in the wheels' center without altering the wheel. I have a set of adapters on my rig to space the tire away from the strut spring perch in the front and note that the hubs face with locking dial just barely (about 1") pokes through the wheel center.
  10. Exhaust is done, exhaust man says it is funny that it now sounds more like a 350z and it shouldn't be too loud at all while driving--maybe under heavy acceleration...update later today when I pick it up!
  11. Ok, lets be more specific. The double tri-star 16" rims (00 LE, 01-02 SE), the 5-star 16" rims (99.5-00 XE-SE) will accept warn hubs...the 03-04 6 spike SE 16" and LE 17" rims will not accept warn hubs without being bored out.
  12. Truck, Y pipe, and muffler are at the shop...not long now!
  13. The 4.6 gear stopped being offered somwhere along with the inception of the VQ int the R50. SammyB and I swapped my gears to 4.6's and really, there is a noticable difference. Basically, I have added more load on the engine with the lift and 265/75/16 REVO's, and the swap from 4.3 to 4.6 made those differences disappear! I am quite satisfied...likwise I know that the LSD is only worth so much, however I get traction now rather than being able to fry the one tire!!
  14. Recieved the "Y" today--can't wait for the muffler and install !!!
  15. A guy I work with had one installed on his 4.6l F150 and saw 44 miles gain a tank! Then after reading too much, I too am wanting one! This muffler he has is only slightly louder than stock and gives a little growl!
  16. No longer to warm up, but the Intake Air temp on the Scangauge is amazing!! This makes overall more giddy up and costs less than 1 MPG to have the power on call. When you first start your rig in the morning and feel the peppy-ness and then park it after like 10 miles and start it up again try to remember the first start up...way more sluggish after intake manny is HOT ! You can touch my manny/Tb anytime and not even come close to uncomfortable--with the lines hooked up--WoW too hot to hold!
  17. I ordered this muffler today along with a stamped stainless steel "Y" pipe. I am going to install this with the factory piping in tact...will I see results???? Muffler -- $158.41 shipped Stainless "Y" -- 24.71 shipped Aero turbine exhaust looks like a promising design...the "XL" version as I have ordered has the air foil cone inside but also some 3000 degree ceramic to quite down the tones inside the truck. If it truly adds a 30% increase in MPG this would be 5-6 MPG HWY (leading me to 23-24) and 4-5 CTY MPG (leading me to 18-19)---this would be too cool--having Ford Escape MPGs in a lifted and loaded Path!! I am taking a vacation to Myrtle Beach SC on the 4th of October---results will definately be noticed as last year the truck was totally stock with a drop in washable filter and avg'd 20-21MPG HWY---my last really long trip in the path was to NJ (MAX STRYKER) in which it got 18.?? MPG. Since last year I have added: >>3" AC lift w/ front 3/4 spacer >>Warn Manual Hubs >>265/75 REVO's >>Custom WAI >>TB bypass and the CTY helper/HWY killer 4.636 gears I should mention too that I got a Scanguage II to help ME get better MPG's as well!!
  18. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~Dude! Welcome back!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Err uhh, I don't know about the question though...pinging and chattering would be valves.
  19. Man, I dig DOT4...flush all my cars with it...it simply has a higher boiling temp...I swear it realy firms up the pedal too! Boiling point is going to be important in the path as it has nice sized calipers however smaller rotors and drum rears that will hold some heat!
  20. I too appreciated all your posts...not too many with the VQ R50 posting around here...maybe just my opinion but there it is! Sorry dude...I sent a pm requesting the skids--shipped...did not read well enough! If I could coax you into shipping them then please send me a quote! ...and though you bought a suby, please let us know her real handling disposition as well!!
  21. I am thinking that i have never had a problem with the pathy having rear drums...I do agree that super good rotors and pads up front make all the difference in the world! Here is an interesting question...why aren't there any "venting in the face of the drums? After all the face does very little for the set up, a few vents couldn't hurt...hmm maybe they are worried of contaminents?
  22. I had this very problem for different reasons...the dizzy is rather cheap for the boost in power that returns, but the most probably cause is a pooped injector...after I had chased so many reasons this was the last probable cause, however I was out of money and patience! Not sure how you can check the injectors without removing them, but this was the last area for me to cover. O2 sensors can cause an engine to run in a rich-then lean fashion and cause a miss fire, but my money would be an a ka-put injector! ~~~~~Plugs and WIRES (especially) are a great place to start!~~~~~~~~~
  23. Do you have a pic of one with the "bar" blacked out? I thought about this also!
  24. Ok for the 99.5-01 XE & SE the mesh was offered for the LE the "bar" was offered. After 01 the SE & LE (only models offered in USA) the bar was the only grill offered. I have an 02 SE and like the look of the mesh.
