  1. 2 days! Lol, how long untill it stops topping out??
  2. I get 13-15 in town depending on my habits...SHELL V-POWER gets me the best MPG's...got 21MPG on HWY without open hubs.
  3. Guys to add to the lift....I just installed mine....w/new strut bearings. All seems well, it does seem substanially tougher to turn. I am wondering, is there a "too tight" possiblity on the strut mount nut? If I loosen it all turns easier, but then you can see (when shaking the truck like an angry elephant) the strut mount bobbing up and down...this can't be right wither. I do not remember having this issue on my '98. My fear is what happened to FUELER, my girl only has 47K on her now and does not need any addition hole in the engine bay area!
  4. I have a whole other link to this problem...though I have not tried it yet.....reason being: My Viper Alarm has window modules that put the trucks windows up and down with the remote, and adds one touch to all 4 windows---well in short it over rides the commands of the regulator and powers them on its own, so it can't read that pinch function--it has its own sensativity for that. Here is the link:Read the descriptions on the left side!
  5. Cool, let us know how the exhaust turns out on your 02 pathy, as I had a true dual from the second cat/resonator back and used 2.25 the whole way (crush bent) and lost gobs of TQ. I put the OE exhaust back on 1 day later minus that second muffler in the system, and returned the Magnaflow. Maybe by keping the pipe small you will keep the TQ and grab some ponies!!
  6. Anybody here with a VQ ever hear those powervalves shut after like 45oo rpm's?? Listen to your intake, during hard throttle, long rev you will hear the intake go from deep growl back to mild somewhere near 5k.....anybody have any good info here?? I have 1 theory but I want others thoughts first.
  7. Ah-ha, gerat pics and explanation! I thought about draining mine that way. This time I did not try that, I left a magnet on the pan by the plug and then drained out of the plug. I had heard before that as long as you don't starve the tranny that thism ethod would work. I do have the VQ and probably should ask 88 to change me to 02silverpathy, anyhow, I agree that I am over cooling, and I actually think that I have too much fluid. I am not sure how that happened with measuring what came out but re attaching the OE cooler after the large arftermarket cooler yielded a quicker response when shifting....after checking the fluid 10 times (no kidding), it seems that I am about a pint over....I checked during COLD and HOT. My Haynes states that the difference between cold and hot is 1 pint to go from one extreme to the other.
  8. Guys, after looking at this video, I agree this will get banged up, but there is many other square feet of a pathfinder that you could stash the turbo. Anyhow, check this guy out and his collection of patrols on YouTube...this guy must be in Dubai...KaneVTC
  9. Lol, the noise was my weak attempt at describing the shift pattern! I was thinking that I should get the stocker back in the loop, at least for the winter. My cooler is tough to put your hand on for more than say 4-5 seconds, then at the bottom where the fluid goes back in you can put your hand on it for quite a bit longer (almost until you are tired of reaching behind the grill!). I am going to add the stocker back in line after the add on, I will try this for a few days. It is much much colder here now, we had our first frost and the high for Tuesday was 60 something. ***Mobil 1 is dexron III***so the fluid is the right type, just though that mayb the tolerance for non Nissan factory fluid could be possible.
  10. I should re state, I probably only ran the truck 20-30 seconds, this could be an attribute, but with only 46K on the truck I doubt that this is my main problem...I am really curious to see if anyone thinks that I am OVER-cooling the tranny. I need to take a longer drive or better warm up and try again to see how it acts. My main concerns were that the fluid is not acceptable, or that the cooler is over doing it.
  11. Hey Guys and Gals, I changed my fluid in the 02's tranny-->empty pan and run truck about 2 minutes to flush a little more out-->refilled with Mobil 1 synth tranny fluid. The truck only gave up about 5 qts, so that is what I put back in. It appears to be close to perfect on the line but I get a terrible waaaaa ba bahhhhh from 1st to 2nd under heavy acceleration....my questions are: Is there a wrong type of tranny fluid to use? Is it really possible that disconnecting the OEM tranny cooler in favor of a larger external tranny cooler could be keeping the tranny from getting warm enough? Your thoughts.....
  12. I recently saw 2 AC delco filters that were totally different from each other but had identical parts numbers on the filter...one made in USA and the other China.... --->different casings, China model had label sprayed on----USA had a paper label glued on --->China filter had 5 small holes around baffle---USA had 6 larger holes ---> USA model had a more rounded finished contour on the bottom---China version had big (hammered looking) dimple on bottom But they were on the shelf like they should be identical, do I really believe that they were the same in side? After all they were the same price!!.................................many many corners being cut right now to offeset the Bushmeister and his terrible stuck in hell economy--I would guess that the one they installed is a different manufacturing line (and country). I would definately ask them about it...it is your warranty, truck, $$$, etc!!!
  13. I just joined...my 02 just squeaked in there...how many more until the data for my body style shows??
  14. Just a though on price...I like to take the KBB trade in and the private sale number and average the two out...that would make a fair price--this way if you buy it you may only be a couple of bills away from trade in value--in the incident the truck is a lemon.
  15. 2 thoughts..... Where did insanium get his roots blower from? Wasn't it his that sat in the factory airbox location? There is a lot that he had to do to get ponies as I vaguely recall...bigger injectors and different timing...then a wideband and an A/F controller would be helpful. Better yet...does anyone remember reading about a computer flash from the dealer that would add a couple ponies and 1 mpg to the truck?? I remeber reading that a guyin a QX4 did this, unfort I did not save the thread.
  16. Yes! Bless the makers of PB blaster! Many knuckles save, though many of my friends use the "soak" time as a chance to smoke an extra cig! Oh, well PB can't save the world ...can it??
  17. hMMM excellent, the pathfinder is in complete control! Lol!
  18. Hey guys, I have a part that I need to sell and wanted to know if anyone close to me (MD) could help me sell it/wanted it themselves/has a membership to VW vortex that could post this thing for me! It is a 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg Steering wheel with airbag...I can't legally ship it without HAZMAT certs. I would rather drive a little or have it pu'd from me. This thing is sweet looking with 3 spokes in stead of the grandma looking steering wheel with 4 spokes! Lol, just a shot in the dark.
  19. Got my OEM muffler back on without the rear resonator...let me tell you--it is soo nice having my rig back to normal! Maybe a 2 in 1 out would have worked, but I am satisfied with what I have now! No resonator gave maybe a tiny tiny bit more throat w/no raspiness. The resonator only had like 12 holes perforated in it, so it really does nothing anyway! I am now spraying my tail pipe black and may put a tip on (or may not!). Hooray for OEM power again!
  20. Congrats! I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your renewed power!! I still kinda wish my swap had went better...that 3.3 is just a tank of an engine and will last even with the bigger bangs of bigger cams and LPG!
  21. I copied myself from the POST MUFFLER BROKE OFF thread...
  22. The later gen R50's have a large alty on them, so forget the Quest swap!
  23. Hey Guys! This topic is soo on tmie in the life of my new (to me) '02. I just paid out of my nose to get a Magnaflow 22" body dual in dual out muffler installed with 2.25" pipe from the front resonators back.....drove about 25 miles.......it sucks!!! I lost torque--bad! I do believe that in higher RPM's she breaths better but for me it was not worth the tire skirtting low end. I am having a friend help me re-install my stock stuff tonight and since the muffler was clamped on...I am going to try to return the muffler..wish me luck! *************Anyone interested in a phatty large Magnaflow 2.5" dI/dO Tru-X design muffler please let me know---it will be quite a deal and with will have less than 40 miles on it!! No weld marks or hangers attached!!************************************************************************************************************* My next plan after the, return/sale is to get my 2nd resonator removed and 1 2.5" pipe ran out of the back with a nice tip. (period for the exhaust!) The real pain of the entire deal is, that the shop did a horrible job bending the duals out (they bang into the bump stop and the floor of the rig), welds are pretty sloppy looking, and the knocked my Nissan the whole time it was in the air---go figure the owner just bought an '06 Ford Crewcab diesel and his boy drives a 95 Blazer---I want to go back and challenge his boy to a tow off, then a race, then mark when the Blazer blows up due to that intake pre-injector that will leak, fail, water down the oil and seize his main bearings at 100K...while the Path will push 200K without catestrophic failure....phunk those guys.
