  1. Ok guys, those of you with the hands on knowledge...lets get us all straight here!! ---------Inset knowledge here----------- --> You will need # ___, ___, ___, ___, gaskets for a good clean re-installation of these 2 manifolds (and TB) -->There are 2 manifolds to the intake. -->Remove pretty V6 3500 cover and all electric connectors -->???? # of bolts and other accessories on top of manifold #1 --> after removing manifold #1 ( ___ bolts) you will see ??? --> Moving forward, remove the lower manifold to ? (get to the manifold butterflies?) --> ??They can fall into the motor at this point of removal?? --> Use ________ type of loctite to re-install phillips brass screws -----Myself included (as I am still shopping for my rig), should then be able to do this on our own with ___ mechanical knowledge. This topic is a very important topic of any VQ35 owner whether Path or QX4 or Max, Alty, 350z, even the little Spec V Sentra, I hope that nobody sees this as a pushy post asking for a step by step. I do not want to make any mistakes and I have had enough with shoddy dealer/shop work. I am buying a Pathy instead of the Q because I am determined to lift mine and put HUBs on it sooooo I want to perform this surgury on my own...preferably with in 1 week of purchase (or length of time to get gaskets!!).
  2. Arrg! After checking Manheim online prices for previous auctions these truck are still bringing high $$$. Apparently there is a slight shortage of good used vehicles, so everything is out of whack...even though book value came down last month (KBB..I know, I know--KBB). I am etting frustrated I really wanted this to stay under or at $12K...looks like I have real work to do! I may end up back in a VG anyway!! There's a sweet 98 QX4 on ebay, fairly local 76K for $10900....hmm I am just phunked up here. My boy says that I can scoop up an '02 with just about 60K for my number, these damn power valve screws are really messing me up!! I really don't want to buy a bummer!!! NO not Hummer! 1,2, or 3
  3. Would removing the front passenger seat help? Or maybe this is just a square dimension that you need. If it is cubic space then pull out that passenger seat also...van's do not have to have a passenger!
  4. Brother, I gotta tell ya I am not bragging because this is not a great thing to brag about....when I popped mine out of my 98 when I first got it (84K), the wires came apart in my hands, and I was gentle since they had to be ordered by Autozone. The plugs were way worse than those! 4 of 6 hand about "0" electrode left...I still scratch my head as to how she ran home 2 hrs from the auction. I say that I am not bragging because that kind of wear and abuse should have been a great sign to me! I went on to change the air filter that was FILLED with leaves and mucky stuff. If I were you I would be glad to see such even wear on those old plugs, and that they are not so worn!! :tonguefinger: About the Iridiums...they were awesome plugs in both my Pathy and my BMW ....I really can't say on how long they really last effectively, but with NO doubt the BMW picked up or picked back up 2 mpg, and the other plugs were not in bad shape at all!! Congrats on buying a piece of OEM combustion future! I think that all manufacturers wil eventually put these in their vehicles, just like they will all eventually use mandrel bent pipes! Hint: PT Crusiers have mandrel bent pipes...yup even Chrysler!
  5. I like one on ebay that is the Uniden Pro-538w..........but I still don't know what makes a good CB....I had read about Firestick and also Wilson antenna's. My friend has several Antenna specialtys antenna's available but it seems that they are all for fire and rescue use.
  6. Folks, I am currently selling my terrano roof mount clino in hopes of buying a CB with the $$$, anyhow---Iknow nothing and want a good-excellent CB and more info on the best buy for antennaes...I had read a thread that involved Xcrewx/88/Vengeful/Pezz-ster/etc and it seems that Wilson 1000 antennae is awesom...just a little pricy for me at this time........please feel free to lend all sorts of notions as I have no idea about mounting the antenna (which style) or what to pick for a radio...though I definatly want weather channels and an in dash pocket sized squack box! Thanks for your help..truck soon?--YES
  7. Stuck mine on eBay...my rig needs way more stuff before I can really use a professional tool like this---oh yeah and I have NOOO experience so yeah I need work too! My little Terrano roof mount is: It measures: 7.5" WIDE 3" TALL 4.5" DEEP
  8. Only put like 2500 miles on mine efore I parked them and sold my rig, but LOL yes rocks and motorists behind beware...also rain and slick highway you have met your match!
  9. Are YOU kidding! LMAO FAST ->Viper 740 alarm/rmt start-----------------own it ->CD Head unit-------------------------------own it ->Amps,EQ's,Subs, Components------------own it----need custom floor pods for the little 4" voice spkrs ->CB-------------------------------------------ordering very soon---posted for help ->Tint------------------------------------------just schedule After checking further on powervalve screws ->hubs-------------------------------------------own it ->Pop Charger----------------------------------own it 2-3 weeks ->AC Lift w/OME Nitro struts-shocks .75" spacer-------------------------------------------own it-ordering springs very soon ->Nismo's mounted balanced--spaced installed (can't wait!!)-----------------------------own it ->Alignment with camber stuff---------------------------------------------------------------schedule it ->FAL 282 Fan (from XPLORx4)--------------------------------------------------------------finishing steps now After 1 month ->Mandrel 2.5" pipes w/Magnaflow dual in/out-------------------------------------------yikes expensive! Don't own anything here Past that? Who knows, I AM crazy!! Lol, almost sounds like I had a Path before huh??
  10. WAY TO GO! I can't wait for you to break those in an give your opinion in full! I loved what mine did even for my wounded VG....I was going to note how insanely clean your engine is then I realized that it was an 03....clean anyways--yes! I am ecstatic for you! You already have the electric fans...do you have intake/exhaust, manual hubs? I am so excited it makes me giggle like a school girl!! That is too cool with the 15BTDC timing that you have posted..I actually, through the old butt dyno, had mine at 14 BTDC...I was damn near right on the money!!! SUPER!
  11. :tonguefinger: I too have agonoized over that !! Lol Thanks all of you. Next Tuesday, that should just about make this the longest week of this year for me! I would love to end in the QX4, just don't know what I will find. The all-mode thing still has me just a bit puzzled...this would make a good shopping issue. So even with the all-mode in 2WD (on the knob selector) folks still had issue from what you heard? I thought that was just when they tried to use the "Auto" function with the manuals un-locked that it angered the system. Maybe I need to more?
  12. It has been a long long time since I had a path in my driveway (last December), I am shopping next week! I am a nervous shopper as I have read a few horror stories on the exhaust tube issues/Cat converter issues as well as the power valve screw issue. The converter tube issue is the only one that you can see, so nix the power valve...this is just a risk taken. I have decided that I am shopping for either an 02-03 Path --or-- an 02-03 QX4...it really depends on availability, mileage, color, and price. I would buy anything under 60K, not beige, white, or akward green (QX4). I am expecting to go to auction and find this vehicle for $12K or less--Manheim Auto Auction, Manheim PA. The only question now is....is there anything you guys with these trucks knows that I should look for? Having the machine, I am sure that there are things that folks know they would look for buying again! ONE THING that I wll be looking for in addition to the rusted/patched exhaust tubes is that little orange sticker on the 3rd member!! Lol, let me know guys! Thanks a mil!
  13. TOP MOUNT.....WOW carpet looks dirty..better get the Dyson out!
  14. There is another style that mounted to the ceiling of a terrano...I have one of these in brown. I am not sure if I am going to keep it or not...its hard to look down the road at that when I just SOLD THE BMW !!! Yaay! Now I am shopping for a rig, and my list of goodies is large, I am just not sure if I want to keep the Clino or not. It is small enough to mount onto the overhead console, it may be in the way of the rear view a little....anyway like Pezz said they are on eBay from time to time.
  15. Yaay for the Volk/Rays ! You can find them very cheap (compared to other sites) on eBay! .....Those konig's are very hott! Any specs on their weight? I loved my other set of Konigs, pretty durable wheel brand.
  16. Did anyone here ever install the TB spacer for the 3.3L ?? I looked at the idea before I rid my '98...I was thinking more of using 2 of them to get the benefit of more air during quick acceleration, and perhaps diving in more to stopping heat in the intake (get rif of those coolant lines!).
  17. Didn't somone already instal Rocky Road Sliders on their 01-04 rig? I though for sure that a used set had been sold from an early R50 and bought by a late R50 owner? Help!
  18. Dag-on what a tough croud? I had a Honda with an original 1.6l V-tec....very loud grrrrr-gaaaaaaaa V-tec, cooler intake was a really big deal...this is a small displacement motor, high compression, variable valve timing--my point is that I think when you have small ponies, everything counts.....in my case I had medium ponies around 215-220 and a car that weighs nothing 1800lbs? you feel it all. Our rigs are small ponies and have heavy bodies, may not be noticable but it is always the exponent of it all EXAMPLE: Cold Air Intake without exhaust-----VS.-----Cold Air intake with vehicle specific tuned exhaust (I had the latter) ----------Why don't we ask the dude with the 410 HP QX4 that's on eBay right now???--------------------------------Lol
  19. Had a Taurus E-fan, loved it: #1 Colder AC #2 Better Acceleration #3 Got Better Mileage (maybe 2mpg?) #4 Felt that it was more fail safe than the clutch--though I understand that they run all the time when they go bad, not stop running. #5 Controlable (I am a control-freak?!) bah, that does it for me!
  20. SWEET! These magnaflows are already on a car of yours...how do they sound? Please give displacement of your Jag, and give as much detail as possible. I have listened to many sound clips and think that due to the 4 cat converters on the path that with a X then 2 of whichever brand of "straight through" it would sound low with little rumble while breathing better....
  21. This is a pic of a hushpower muffler...they are a straight through design....I would use 2 of them after an X....seems that all of the 350Z aftermarket cat-back exhausts use some sort of balancer, and depending on the brand use 2 straight through's at the end tied together to look like 1 muffler.
  22. Logical, I have seen both myself, with a turbo'd eagle talon...single was better! But the cousin to this engine in the 350Z has true duals all the way?! I will alter my theory slightly here...I have started to lean towards the 1 muffler theory. I like the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta that has dual 2.25 in and dual 2.25" out, can I/Should I use the "X" pipe I already own in order to improve scavenging? Maybe after the muffler, in order to make a small vacuum out of the muffler and pull through the muffler a little? Or stick with it before the muffler? .............of course there is the chance that having a single muffler kills the "X" purpose all together!
