Went for a little drive yesterday. Really starting to like this tan rig. Best $600 bucks ever spent Also threw some led pods on the subie! Ooh180, http://pcoa.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=911&start=190#p23725 shows the former option or at least one way to do it. It looks pretty involved doing it that way. I am not sure if the instructions they proved now are any different than the ones that were supplied back in 2008, the original poster commented on how inadequate they were to complete the job. Good luck and please take some detailed pics of your process. I would like to see what you come up with. I am in the process of getting an Airfow snorkel from Argentina, it is sitting at a friends house in Miami as it was hand carried on a plane from Buenos Ares by the CEO of Airflow. Another member posted some pics of them on my post about Chinese made snorkels Since I have a coworker who happens to be from there, I was able to get a hook up and should have it here within the week. I should have the complete instructions produced by them in hand and can get them translated to share their take on the install. I will post the picks when I get them. The one thing I noticed was a different type of bracket for the mid A pillar mount. Hope that helps

It is amazing how thin the stock wiring is. A lot of us end up relaying the headlights as well, both to improve light output and to reduce stress on the contacts in the switch.

The current ones on mine came in a Duralast box from AutoZone. I have gone through a few over the years. Moog seems to last about as long as the inexpensive stuff for me, so I just buy the local parts that have a lifetime warranty.

It would suck to replace the boots only to have your CV fail anyway, and common consensus is to just replace the the entire axle, which by the way, may take some time to fail. I've been on torn boots for about 5 or 6 months, seeing dust, dirt, snow, and mud, and 4WD still works fine.

So after a fun week and a half on the road and about 3500 miles, the Pathy did get some problems, P0011 on like the first 160 miles in. I brought my scan tool along on the trip and just cleared it and it came on at inconsistent times such as 40 miles or 150 miles. So after getting back, I changed the oil and found a long piece of something in the filter, didn't seem like rtv as it didnt have the same feeling. I took the pan off as well and found lots of carbon chunks in the pan, not a pretty sight but probably from the drive of getting really hot and non stop driving cleaning the motor out. After that I took the VVT solenoids out and cleaned them and changed the diff fluids as well. Took it for a test drive and felt like I had power again and ran smoother. That was a couple days ago, now today the CEL came back on for the P0011 and a P0152, so the fun doesnt stop. I will be replacing the O2 sensors for the P0152 and getting new solenoids for the VVT, checking the oil pressure to make sure the galley gasket underneath the timing cover didnt blow and go from there. Honestly you could make just about anything work. Some guys have made an XJ snorkel fit, but a D22 Navara snorkel is the closest fit I believe, as Enri said.

I think it’s a 198/T10 bulb. With regard to the directions above, that’s a 2000 SE, there are some variances (‘03-4 & QX4s) so yours might vary slightly.

First off, haven’t been on here in a looong time. I picked up a C4 corvette this past summer and that has turned into the project that sucks all my time lately. Still have the R50 though. I’m running 285/75/16 mud terrains which works out to about 33x11.5 with approximately 2.5 to 3 inches of lift. There is just no way you will get 33 or larger tires on that size of lift without cutting into the metal. Personally, I took a lot of time with the trimming on mine so I feel it looks pretty clean and would not be noticeable by anyone unless you have another R50 to compare it to, but it definitely took a lot more trimming than I originally expected. I was also unwilling to accept any rub at all at full lock, so I probably cut a bit more than some who are okay with just “good enough”. That said, if your not shy about cutting I think it’s well worth it. I love the final result of the 33’s with a relatively small amount of lift.

275 75 16s fit on stock wheels with high-quality hub centered 1" wheel spacers with little issue. These tires are a tad bigger than 32" tires and only required a small inside front bumper trim and removing front mudflaps

If you run a skinny 33, ie a 10.5 not 12.5 section, or a 255/85r16 they'll fit better than a 12.5 or a 285/75r16
