What's on your to-do list?

I don't recall seeing one of these threads, and since we've got "What did you do to your Pathfinder today?", a "what's on your to-do list" seems like a nice companion.

Anyway, I've got:

  • Install auxiliary transmission cooler and an in-line Magnefine filter
  • Paint new bumper and driver side quarter panel (see pic)
  • Fix rust on new tailgate door, and move it down a bit so it's more flush
  • Put threadlocker on power valve screws
  • Fix this dent on my driver door somehow so it stops obliterating the door switch

I could probably get all that done in one weekend, it's not a whole lot... but I still need to get the paint & clear coat for the bumper and panel, and get some replacement bolts/nuts for my upper intake manifold since they are stripped before I can those done. I'm also probably missing a few minor things for the list since I don't write these things down, it's just a mental list.

What's on your list?

Too much :D

I have stages I'm planning.

First:

- Install efans

- Timing belt / water pump

- Trans cooler

- Upgrade alternator (possibly)

- Install skidplates

- Finish sound system

Second:

- Install levelling spacers

- Manual hubs

- Redo front brakes

Third (aka things I'd like to do but have no plans to do in the immediate future):

- Bumpers

- Cams

- Reflash ECU

Ultimately I'd also like to cut my fenders to run 33s and install mudflaps and fender flares but I'm not sure really when or what I'm going to do there. Might just keep the 31s in which case I won't cut my fenders. I'm undecided on which course to take though. Part of me always wants to go bigger and better, but my truck is my daily driver and sees almost exclusively pavement right now.

Oh man... :D

Reindex the torsion bars

Undercoat

Oil change

Trans cooler/ATF change

Replace an exhaust gasket where the local grease monkey half welded the pipes together

Driver side door hinge

Tinker with the headlights/install driving lights

Then I need to actually take it off road.

Priorities have changed a bit.

Fix frame rot.

Undercoat.

Undercoat.

Undercoat.

Fix exhaust.

Trans cooler.

Lights, maybe.

Probably more undercoat.

I used the black asphalt undercoating from CT. And then I painted it with some rust paint. There are a couple different kinds of undercoating in the same aisle. I got the paintable one. I use fluid film on the inside.

Cool. Paintable sounds like a good idea... I saw that asphalt stuff and I just thought "sticky." How do you apply the fluid film?

It comes in spray cans. I empty 3 or 4 of them into the frame via the access holes after I've power washed it out. It is like 14.99 a can at CT. I saw at TSC that you can buy a paint can size version but I would need a way to spray it.

Gotcha. I guess it doesn't get absolutely everywhere in there, but better than nothing.

  • 1 month later...

It seems like as soon as I cross one thing off my list I add two more. It's a vicious cycle.

I agree. I've knocked out two things on my short, easy list in the span of about 2 months (damn I'm slow) but now I need to replace the PSF with some M1 ATF, try to fix my clock by reflowing some solder, apply some grease to my back hatch struts where the cup snaps into the ball, fix the ashtray light and grease its rusty hinge... all easy stuff, but it's still that many more things to do...

You guys all have such big plans compared to me, but then again I'm a poor college student and can't afford the nice things you all do :headwall:
