  1. If you look on creigslist for any major area in the pacific northwest washionton-oregon go to cars and trucks and type in pathfinders pages of them will come up. I dont know if you were looking at shippng one or not though. But the ones over here usally have very little rust compared to ones from other places.
  2. Its simple Kyle Messed with the wiring in it when he had it most likely for the sterio. Then a while after he sold it his butt connector or soter job on the wires came undone. Is that the one that use to have the fox logo on the back window kyle? On a real note I would look at the areas of the harness that splice together. Last winter I was having strange electrical problems and it turned out one of the splice areas had water getting in it and was breaking down the wires so I was getting intermediat groounds all over the place. I simply cut out that section and replaced it with a nice soter job and heat shrink wrap.
  3. I had mile markers on the pathfinder in tell the SAS and I ran them hard. They hit stuff, had wheels land while spinning at speed and never had 1 blow up on me.

  5. Are you using high temp red loctite on the studs before you install them and giving it time to set up?
  6. If you watch top truck challenge 2010 the truck class winner Jason grey, used cutting brakes (cable and handle for each wheel) to take a corner the rigs with rear steering were 2 point turning. Awesome rig to see in person I will try to get a pic of it by my pathy so you get a idea of how big it is if I can make it to summer bash.
  7. Finished getting all the link mounts and links in and got to cycle the front suspension. When I get a front drive line in I will have to limit travel for it.
  8. On round keyed lugs like that this is how you remove them. Take a grinder with a cut off wheel in 2 opposite sides of the lug nut cut a flat edge on them so you can put a adjustadle wrench on them with a pry bar on the end of it and remove them.
  9. Probably not the angle you are looking for but here is another with no front bumper on.
  10. Actually Autolites work great in dodge engines, they are the best running plug im my 360 although it dose have a performance cams, over sized injectors and is honed .020 every cylinder.
  11. Like I said happens on trails but not on sand to me at least. I was not even running that low of pressure that day its that dam stump that jumped out in front of me and caught the bead just right.
  12. There is no right or wrong answer to this problem, It matters on several things. 1. How fluffy the sand is 2. What type of tire 3. What type of wheel 4. The way you run the rig 5. The weight of the rig Those are just a few I thought of really quick. To make this make more since on my dodge in the sand with its maxxis big horn tires I usually run them between 10-15 pounds mattering on the density of the sand. But with the swampers on the pathfinder I drop them to about 6 pounds, I have never lost a bead while doing sand. have lost beads a few times on trails though but that different. If you plan to run a set of tires at low pressure allot and do not have beadlocks I would suggest a bead of silicone to mate the rim to tire on both sides. Like I said though there are so many variables there is no wright or wrong answer it is preference of the driver.
  13. You will not see that no ethanol much longer, Most states now require 5-10 percent ethanol, and it is looking like it will soon be a federal requirement. I am against this stuff makes no sence that they are adding a chemical that makes gas less efficient and causes more ware on engines. It is a big joke.
  14. I do not have a camera right now old one got broke and I have not replaced or I would be posting lots of pics of the SAS in progress. It is 2-3" higher in the back then it was with the ac 3" springs.
  15. Keep a eye on the hardware, Those are only grade 5 Allen head bolts. I ended up replacing them all besides that great hubs. What coils are those you used I put the bronco 5.5" lift ones in the rear of my pathy now and the shocks I used with the 3" AC springs are over maxed out had to compress suspension about 1/4" to get them to go on fully extended.
  16. I have to agree with kingman on rebuilds Napa seems to be the store to pick.
  17. Try reading the stickys in how 2 read all them not just this 1 from sticky in garadge section I have seen this problem when I split the air tube between the throttle and MAF sensor. Look for cracks, they happen allot on bottom side of TB end where it is hard 2 see it.
  18. You have a 31 spline, H233B axle in your pathfinder inless it has been swapped or it Is one of the super rare 2wd 4 cylinder pathfinders. Hope this helps. This configuration of axle was used in the pathfinder from start tell 2000, then it went to a 33 spline version.
  19. I have to say I agree with nunya that dose not look like much to fix to me. Looks like 10 dollars at the scrap steel yard and 15 min with a welder and good to go. If that is the only real problem and they are asking for that much money find a local that has a welder and bring him it prepped and a case of beer and ask nicely and you are probably good.
  20. I want to note that the master cylinder In pathys with disk front and rear hold more volume. A guy i knows wife had a pathy with disk breaks and when the MC went out we had a heck of a time finding one that worked right for him as all of the local nissan places said they were the same but when compared they were not. We ended up finding them one out of a used rig, They will bolt in each others places but the one for drums made for the squishy pedal syndrome.

I Do not recomend linked welder for any true metal fab but have found it to be a cheep great machine for doing sheet metal jobs and can be bought new for under 100 allot of the time. cheep welder In the link posted it is a little over 100 but I have seen them go on sale as low as 80 dollars. But you need to take the flux core wire that comes with it and throw it in the trash and go buy some lincon or miller flux core wire to put in it. The cheep wire that comes with it dose not penetrate well and splatters everywhere.

Will try to make it short -finish making links -finish 3 more mounts 4 links -finish coil bucket mounts -Get last IFS bracket off frame -figure out how im going to mount shocks -make winch bumper -make front drive line -remove leaf spring hangers -reassemble as 3 link That is leaving off a ton of stuff but enough for now.
  23. Here is my opinion only a opinion though to each there own. WD21-best offroad pathfinder, Moderate road manner R50-Moderate offroad performance, good road manner R51-how the hell did they turn the pathfinder line into a minivan. On the rust issue My pathfinder is from 91 still stock paint no rust on it at all, well a little on my offroad rims
  24. I have the same problem with my pathfinder, I did not remove the assembly though. I have found if i push down on the hood really hard by the latch then go pull the release it works. I still have not figured out what is causing the problem although I have not looked into it to hard as I have been thinking about dove nosing the pathfinder witch would lead to hood pins anyways. Don't use nunya's chain idea please.
