  1. I say watch creigslist I paid 120 for the 32' bfg's i run on the street already mounted on nice rims and I paid 185 for my swampers not on rims. this is not a great pic looks like stripper tires with the strange light, but each of those sets was under 200 dollars so don't give up.
  2. I never got to meet pachie88 but he always seemed like a nice guy here on the boards, Always quick to reply if he knew how to help you or had a idea. The one thing we all have to think about on this occasion is at least he went out doing something he loved doing and probably went out a happy person just like the way he lived.
  3. I added a tire carrier to mine, the threaded parts are there for the 2 mounts that go under the rear hatch but the 4 bolts on the corner that carry the weight are not there unless it came with one the top set is not hard to add but the bottom set is a supper pain. I ended up cutting out parts from the inside to add it then welding up new supports inside to make it able to carry the weight.
  4. There are already threads on this, But you can pull 1 from a junkyard or buy one off 4x4parts.com or you can get 1 from the nissan dealer (they will not install them though) This is not a project for your average guy, It takes fabing cutting and altering stuff to get the mounts inside the sheetmetal for it. The ones that have it from the factory, the sheetmetal was formed around the brackets.
  5. My offroad tire are 33x12.5r15 tsl swampers on 15x8 rims with 3.75 backspacing. Here is a pic,They are over 34" tall on these rims though, Also should note they are original TSL's before they re did the caucuses to make more inline with other company's tire sizes with I think happened in 99.
  6. I would say redline is the best but you pay for it. Lucus is good stuff to but not near as spendy as redline.
  7. What ever happened to the good coverage of rally races. Just because 5 times more camera men died compared to driver is no reason not to cover it good. Rally races are the funnest races to watch in my opinion, and you see cars from a POS to a supper modified and the POS can still win. I would comment more on speed channel but I gave up TV a few years ago when I figured out its just a waste of time.
  8. The xterra rear diff complete was sent half way across the counter to me for 240 with shipping with 30,000 miles on them so less then a shop cost to set them up and can make it match the spline count by stilling parts out of your rear diff without resetting up gears. try some of the online used parts vendors. Side note if you get the 2wd xterra rear diff the abs is plug and play but not with the 4wd rear diff.
  9. He is going to have a v8 though, I think 5.13's and a v8 would be a little overdoing it on a pathy maybe im wrong though.
  10. I am getting ready to do a waggy swap as well, I am using gunine gear 4.89 in the front and xterra 4.9 gears in the rear, This gives a little bit of pull to the front that works very well offroad. I am sticking with the stock engine tranny for now though.
  11. Besides just cranking them you can re index them if you are still clear of the bump stops, I am attaching a link of a wright up on how to do this.re index Hope that helps.
  12. Nunya I agree with you about the retreads and the fiberglass body panels, but I would much rather have some fiberglass then a retread that is going to blow out and destroy my pathfinder. I shouldn't talk though the swampers I run to the trail and offroad were made in 1998 lol, but no dry rot and still hold air, have lots of tread. It is just a pain to get them mounted because no tire company will mount them because of liability, of well thats what starting fluid is used 4 lol
  13. I am going to leave my body lift on when I do my SAS as well. Not so much for the lift but for how much easier a pathfinder is to work on with one installed. Changing the oil filter with no body lift pain in the azz with body lift simply pull filter between body and frame. Same with the starter you can just reach in the side and change it (if you have tried to change starter without body lift you understand this 1 lol. Changing the motor mounts easy with a body lift. Broken manifold studs are almost imposable to get to without a body lift with it you can use a extractor without removing anything except the manifold witch you can pull out the side as well. These are a few of the many things that are easier to do with a body lift. Also the statement in last post about the rear bolts that is the only difference and both body lifts have the 90 listed because you could get it as a 2 door or 4 door.
  14. If you are going to use them for street and offroad get a set of the ssr's in 31x12.50R15LT SSR-09R 31x10.50R15LT SSR-07R With the bias ply every cold morning you will have flat spots on the tires and have a very bumpy morning. I have a set of the bias ply in 33's and they are really ruff when they have flat spots. I use mine for offroad only, i run BFG all terrains on the road. the SSR's will last much longer on the street and still have very god offroad performance. I think the Iroks work last longer on the street and do unbelievable offroad but the smallest size available is a 33".
  15. I think i meet all of the requirements, but i am going to wait to send in my stuff intell the SAS is done and i get some new pics, I really just poped in here to say what a great job you guys are doing with this.
  16. What we need out there is a gm 4.3L to nissan 5 speed trans adapter with matching motor mounts and a wire harness adapter set. So basicly we need a plug and play set for 4.3L conversions.
  17. I Have the same problem with mine when it happens it happens at startup. Let us know if you figure it out. I have been thinking it is the IAC to but dont want to pull the intake to find out i am wrong.
  18. I am sure alot will not agree with me but I would just get a lockright for the rear instead of the ARB and spend the extra on skid plates and sliders for your rig, If you are set on eather the winch or a ARB I would get a ARB for the front axle and still use a cheep lockright in the rear.
  19. I run 32" BFG AT for street use they are pretty quite in my opinion only a little noise, But when i put my origonal design 33" bias ply swampers on you can hear me comming from miles away lol, with the swampers by the time you hit 45 you can no longer hear the engine at all it is very loud.
  20. It is a common problem for the clamps on balance hose between the 2 fuel rails to come lose and when the system primes fuel will come out. It only takes a few minutes to fix. There is s few postings about this but i dont have time to find the links right now.
  21. Thanks for the link just what i was looking for.
  22. I have heard that the Xterra has a compatible diff housing and gears if you pull the hole assembly, with my 91 H233B I wanted to know if anyone can confirm this for me. And also If it dose work what year models were available with the 4.9 gears. Thanks for your help.
  23. Thank you for that info, and from my understanding if I leave it spring under axle it will be about the same a a 3" sl on a pathfinder.
  24. What did you use to get the rear up to the height of the spring over axle front?
  25. Thats where i have been getting most of my information from packie88. athghout i found a sring over axle swap post http://nissannut.com/projects/SAS_WD21/and the http://nissannut.com/projects/SAS_3link/but im not sure about the hight with a leaf spring over to match. Do you have a build thread on your rig? Im just trying to be prepared as possible.
