In most cases that is true, but the LY6,LS3, and LSA have the same cams for automotive and marine, although there is a LY6 made with a industrial cam set that produces more power at the low range but its max RPM is 4500. The only difference with the marine LS3 and LSA is that they have higher quality seals in several locations.

not sure where to pu this!

You want the axle from a Jeep Grand Wagoneer not a cherokee xj, or ZJ, the full size type ones. and the gearing thing really depends on your driving style. -
I was trying to be sarcastic about that. But yes the pathfinder has a very durable frame. The LSA dose take a big jump in its torque at 2400. but that jump at 2400 it to above 500 ft-lbs. not like the 3.3L's 202 ft-lbs at 2800. It is not a honda engine by any means. Here I will attach a power curve that is a little de-rated as it is a production spec marine version we sale.

I welded 2 bolts 2 the carrier and put nits on them that take a 19 mm wrench witch there are always 2 spares of in the pathfinder sence it is used all over the place. Yes you will see it at the mister jim run allot like nige posted except i don't have the cool wing nuts. I just used what I had 4 free.

To state the true facts Japan, Germany, USA, and Italy have all contributed to the new eras of cars in some ways while whenever one group makes a true improvement the others copy it it is just the way of the industry. There are other places that don't contribute technology just use what these 4 have learned.

My old springs had been chopped 4 lowering it so I got allot better ride when i swapped mine in, but I cant tell you from stock but i can tell you they have a nice ride quality on the street.

I have to agree with 87 pathy sounds like a vacuum leak. might even be the tube from air box to throttle body splitting on top or bottom as this is a pretty common problem and causes the affects you are seeing.

I used the AC 3" lift coils and I love how they ride. I am glade I went ahead and spent the money on them, with the spare tire on back and standard wheeling gear in back they are just right for offroad performance.

Not trying to thead jack here but people having the fuel smell extra gas use With the MPI engines should try this thread link Sorry to thread Jack -
You might want to look more into that the shelby version was the mid package with a turbo on it, The pacifica was the max loaded with the turbo package.
-
I know its probably no ones favorite car but the 88 dodge daytona with the rare pacifica package, had power everything, I have never to this date seen a more electronically adjustable seat, it had a onboard trip computer, a electric display dash, a tap deck-equilizer-with cd player (yes both tap and CD) They did not have power sunroofs as they were t-tops. One of these was my first car not my first vehical but my first car.

With all these great engine ideas, Why not just go with a GM LSA so you can twist the poor frame into 2 peaces.

I have the harbor freight welder, I didn't mean to make it sound like it couldn't do the frame it can its bumpers, and a roll cage I wouldn't really trust it on, Although I might use it on a none winch bumper, but in no way would I trust it for a cage. On the other hand It is not a bad welder great to learn with. It can do many small jobs with ease. When you said roll cage is what made the stop sign pop up in my head, A roll cage is not something that you want to gamble on, A poorly welded cage can do more damage then good in some cases.
-
I am sure some other people will disagree with me but, I would go with the harbor freight one as you can add a regulator and tank later to use it as a MIG welder instead of a flux core welder. You could box the frame, make bumpers and a cage with that welder But I don't think I would trust them to hold up to any abuse or a rollover.

redline is great stuff , well I don't like there engine oil all to much but for trans, transfer, and diffs it can't be beat.

hay 5523 do you by any chance have access to a dimensioned layout of the v6 transmissions bolt pattern layout and sizing?

I want to know how much torque a nissan 5 speed can handle. I have been thinking about doing a 3.3 swap after my sas, But the more I think about it the more I am leaning towards putting a GM 4.3L in it. I work for a GM OEM so i can get these parts at OEM level pricing. I would like to keep the stock running gear and just make a adapter to mate the 4.3L to the nissan 5 speed if it can handle it. But if I go with the the 4.3L it will not be a truck engine I would be using a marine long block and a industrial LP port injection intake and fuel system. (yes i know it will not be street legal) The thing is the engine would put our about 240 ft/lbs at around 2400 RPM, although that setup would red line around 4600 RPM.

Swap in a dana 44 in the front. 86-91 waggy axles avoid vacume disconnect ones, or early bronco axles are about the right width and they are drive side drop. You could go with a 60 like posted above but if you are keeping the v6 it weighs to much for the engine. If you have a manual tranny it will be fine if you have a auto swap it for a manual or swap out the drive train to something with a stronger auto. Then to keep your power ether put 4.88 gears in the front dana 44 and get xterra 4.9 gears that will fit in your rear. or buy 5.13 for front and rear. That is just my opinion. -
It bypassed the neutral safety switch so you can make the starter turn with out pushing the clutch in.

Here is a link to the build on my pathfinder Rattle Trap. It now has a 3" BL and a 3" SL, But With just the 3" SL and minor trimming I was running 32" BFG all terrines (seen in 2nd Pic in thread). So I am assuming you could Run the same with just a 3" BL. I hope this helps.

Ok here are a few more 0 on the price. $800.00 On a real note pathy is looking nice.

I should have stated that better, You cant use a rear axle in the front unless you are a really good fabricator or plane on throwing allot of money at it. I was trying to discourage someone from pulling the front end out of there truck that dosn't sound like they have the no how or skills to complete the job.
