Precise1
I have created A-GAIN!!! This is the UberSteakBurger!!! Literally!!! Here is how it starts... Slightly over 1lb of steak, ground in the meat grinder I bought at an estate sale for $4. This is medium grind for the first try. This is the leanest ground beef I have ever seen!!! The mix!! 1 clove garlic chopped 1/4 cup?? finely chopped onion several dashes Montreal Steak Seasoning 12 pumps of garlic juice 8 pumps of liquid smoke marinade 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 small handfull croutons, finely crushed (ie bread crumbs) 1 egg, de-shelled 1/4 tsp home grown Oregano 1/4 tsp home grown Marjoram Mix well, form into a ball and let sit for an hour... Precise1
Form into patties (I made 3 1/3lb) and prep everything else you plan to have on/with the USB. For consistancy, I stuck with the bacon/avocado/gorgonzola motif and the 'bun' is country style french bread loaf hacked down a bit. Fry in pan of choice or convenience, flip, add toppings and melt cheese... Build the burger foundation while cheese is melting... And final assembly + product testing. This is one of the best burgers I have ever had, even compared to the previous!! 2 issues are that I overcooked it (medium well) due to poor timing and the reality that this cooks quickly so it is slightly tough/chewy, and that the coherency is poor, but that is probably from the overcooking. The plus sides are that the meat tastes very good, imparting steak flavor, not typical ground meat fattiness. The spice flavors carry through very well, making for a savory burger that requires little to 'dress it up', not that there is anything wrong with that, but the ketchup lover should not waste their time and stick with Burger King. Also, there is no appreciable shrinkage, certainly not what you are used to from 'regular' ground beef. The size you make the patty is the size you serve... Oh, you better know how to eat oversized foods (burritos, hot dogs, etc) or the mere sight of an UberSteakBurger will make you cringe in fear!! I think I have mastered the avocado/bacon/gorgonzola burger so it is time to move on. I'm thinking a pesto burger with mozarella (sp?) cheese, carmelized onions (and sauted garlic for me). Any suggestions?? B

GoPathyGo
Have you tried good-quality Shropshire Blue cheese with any of these ? It's very sharp but, with the right burger, AWESOME!

Simon
Burger time at our house tonight. Started with a pound of lean ground beef. Added Egg, Guiness BBQ Sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic, made 3 patties. Fried up some bacon for the burgers, some chopped fine in the patties, some for topping the burgers (this is taken post patties) Buns ready for toasting Burgers on the grill. Bacon'd up! Cheese on top, Havarti and Cheddar on Pezzys, just Havarti on mine.....for now Mine are now topped with fried egg, with Cheddar on top. Pezzy is not a big fan of egg, so for her's this step is skipped. Side of seasoned potato wedges Profile shot of my burgers They were tasty goodness, I couldn't even eat both of mine! DavefromOZ
My turn to add to the hunger building thread Toasted the roll, with a little butter and mayo Next, I added some green stuff Followed by some beetroot Followed by an egg Then the patty (premium beef mince, bacon, chilli, dijon mustard, garlic & onion in this one), topped with some good old cheddar Added some bacon & tomato sauce And served Good burger, didnt use chilli powder this time, I used fresh chilli, which really worked with the dijon.
