Need Tow Hooks for '03 Pathy? Just buy generic ones?
FUELER replied to pixel41's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
The guys over at www.pcoa.org.au said that.... (EDIT: vengeful agrees) they all recommend the use of an "equalizer strap" http://www.pcoa.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php...tow+hook#p20599 http://pcoa.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1667 although i now realize that my QX4 hooks look a lot different (and beefier) than the ones shown in pictures off a pathfinder..... -

whats wrong with your factory hooks? the passenger side factory tow hook is very strong. Dont use the drivers side as people have had problems bending the frame with that one. -

no way man! im surprised that bulb hasnt burnt out yet. i hardly ever wear my seatbelt. Thanks! Not hard at all. Total job should take no more than 20 minutes. -
i had that problem with several cars nowm, including the QXslow, once its open, put some grease all over the lock mechanism, that has always worked for me.

Great info, Xplorx! The # of bulbs must depend on the year. Your 97 Pathfinder needed 4, my 99.5 Qx4 needed 4, but the 2001 pathfinder on nicoclub.com only needed 2. My gauge cluster used #74 bulbs - is this the same as 168/194? -

QX4 needs 4 bulbs, Pathfinder only needs 2. PIA level is minimal. Yes they work with the dimmer. More Pathfinder info here http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/3680...the-dash-lights More QX4 info here http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/3693...ctures-and-info Thats a very good question. The answer is "i dont know". I would think that its powered by the same type of bulb, but the odometer light does behave differently than the rest. In my QX4, if you dont have the key in, and turn on the lights, the odo does not light up with the rest of the gauges. Only when you turn the ignition to "on" does the odo light up. For that reason, i think its possible that it's it's own assembly. -
congratulations! your plans sound good. i say black it out, but go alloy rims. You dont want to go with too much black, heart of darkness africa style. post pictures!

in america, its a terrible idea. Here in so cal, you have sherriffs patrolling popular trails, and busting DUIs even in BFE. in Baja, D&D is a way of life, and is a cultural norm. Unfortunately there are more bizarre accidents as a result, but I find it to be a very fun lifestyle.

my local mexican tire shop doest even torque, they just use the air gun to tighten down, but then when you need to take the wheels off for some reason, you need like more of a 5' breaker bar to get it off
-
cause lazy worker use air guns too quickly.... i had discount tire break one rear stud, they sent me to a neighboring shop (which has done work for me before) and they put a new stud in fo free

Soooo, any one else ever tear off a Black Pather skid?
FUELER replied to PDCCD's topic in General Forums
the stock one if more of a splash guard/air diffuser than a skid plate, its very fragile, i'd say it's just one level stronger than cardboard. -

probably thinking of the rear tire -
well i have a chevy astro van (cargo van) that can do milky burnouts and 500 foot long tire marks, with the vortec 4.3 V6, so maybe my QX4 just feels slow in comparison (its pathetic i know)

3.3 SPINNING TIRES??? what the heck, are they street tires or something?
-
my 3.3 had trouble turning 32's in soft sand. not fun.
-
maybe thats just your torque converter unlocking? try playing with o/d on/off see of that makes a difference
-
Sounds like an awesome setup!!
