all the opinions here gonna be biased cause everybody has run one or the other, but nobody has run both but going off what ive read, i prefer the OME which has been tried and tested in the outback of australia AC 2" lift springs have no evidence of R&D but that guy xplorx4 did moab with the 2" lift so it cant be bad

huh?? theres no vehicle inspections in Cali?? other than smog check, and the occasional trip to the referee when you get caught with illegal parts.... and CHP inspection after buying a salvage car from a junkyard...

1999.5 looks like this

VG33 QX4's have 110 amp alternators, you could try one of those. But the Quest is still 10 amps higher.
-
its actually comfortable in cold to cool weather. When it gets hot out, I at least run the fan which solves this problem. Maybe it was cold in Japan when they designed this car ?
-
this has been discussed before. All auto climate control R50's do this. Mine does. Regardless of what your temp is set at, If you turn the climate control OFF, the hot/cold diverter switches completely to the hot position, and the directional flapper switches to FEET. (you can hear this stuff move for a few secs when you press OFF) and then you're feeling air from outside that has passed through the heater core ! Thats the way Nissan designed it. No idea why but i'm sure there's a valid reason.

The proper way to change the transmission fluid on an R50
FUELER replied to laxman0324's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I know that the dealership sells and uses Pennzoil for our differentials - perhaps they use the same for M/T ? PS whats "winter"? I have never experienced such a thing Not sure if its approved but I have Mobil1 ATF in both my AT and transfer case and it works great! -
i had bosch in and one failed after only a few months, causing a nasty misfire NGKs on the other hand, ive run forever with no problems
-
theoretically, spacers (when installed above the strut) should not make any difference in topping out...
-
look through a rockcrawling magazine and its easy to find examples of flexed out tires. If youre pushing the bottom of the tire OUT, the top of it will go IN and vice versa! thats why if your tire is within a few millimeters of the strut, you still risk touching....
-
also in the fluid specs, mine says the AT takes 9 quarts while the transfer case gets 3 1/8 quarts,
-
what??? how is this possible... cause i have a 99.5 with the VG33 engine and auto (pushbutton) transfer case and the transfer case and auto tranny definitely do not fill in the same spot the auto tranny fills at a spout in the engine bay (where the ATF dipstick is) the transfer case has a fill bolt on top of the transfer case itself. my nissan manual does in fact say they use the same fluid but 2 pages later it shows the 2 seperate fill locations.....
-
the auto tranny and the transfer case do NOT share the same fluid. Unless the seal between the two is leaking, then they do
-
i believe 12/98 can someone confirm or correct this
-
i wanted to do AC front and OME rear but unfortunately AC only sells their springs as a set of 4
-
ya theres all sorts of subltle little differences that will surpirse ya. WHen i needed an AC compressor, i learned that the 96-99 compressor will NOT work on a 1999.5-2000 because its just slightly different
-
i lift mine with my arms, you can do it, put your back into it
-
^^ yes, tires do flex. Nice Pathfinder!
-
the trick is to let it flow slowly, i usually get well over a gallon in after it "tops off"
-
the almighty VG33 wins again
-
no dont worry about parking garages, I got about 1.5" all around from the springs alone. Good luck and get that lift installed!
-
Congrats, sounds like fun. Do you have the parts already? Pinion angle is not adjustable on a R50. Your rear driveshaft and pinion will be just fine. You might need camber kit in the front though. Just lift it, align it, and run it!

i have a whole bunch of ham and cheese hot pockets in my ARB freezer AT ALL TIMES i also have a small SANYO microwave, plugged into a AC/DC transformer great for traffic jams, you will always have a hot meal ready in the form of a HOT POCKET
