  1. I get a similar issue but only when I'm using my laptop with windows 8.1. I put in the url and hit the button and it just hangs. Then I go to my other computer, running 98se and the same thing works fine. I'm sure it has something to do with windows 8 or my laptop settings.
  2. You can also beat the hell out of it with a hammer and make it oval or dent it in the right place(s) to clear where it hits.
  3. Also carry a box of freeze-dried brains. Not as effective as a distraction as fresh ones but they will do in a pinch when the zombies are closing in
  4. I have pacesetters... I think they were the 1197's. I have a 95 SE auto. Not too difficult to install, just had to leave everything loose until it was all in place then tightened the pipe connections last. used a relo kit for the oil filter and built some sheet aluminum heat shields to protect the relo lines and other things that I didn't think should get real hot. Only had to do a minor bend in my EGR tube for alignment and, when attaching the crossover to the passenger side, had to drill a small hole and insert a screw under the exhaust clamp because it worked itself loose at one point. Now it's permanent, MIG permanent! the 1198's are for a manual tranny
  5. Used it to drive my mother to the airport. Her first flight unaccompanied since my dad died.
  6. small bars of gold. You never know when you're going to be pinned down in a firefight or detained in a foreign country and need to bribe your way to a hasty egress under cover of dark.
  7. or a good way to get rid of excess fluids on those long drives where you don't want to have to stop
  8. grind... weld... grind... spray with undercoat. easy peasy
  9. LOL been there way too many times
  10. I MIG weld my frame fairly frequently. Never had any issues... though my radio periodically doesn't work.
  11. Now that I have a main seal leak that I'm not ambitious enough to fix, I pour in whatever is on sale or cheapest since I don't care how long it is effective. I'm constantly refreshing it.
  12. I used repair sleeves on my camshafts. I would recommend it for the crank as well. Gives a nice smooth surface for the new seal but makes it a little more difficult to get the seal on.
  13. watched my son drive away in it. Still kinda freaky that he's driving even though he's had his license for 5 months
  14. there will be no CEL due to this. If you are running rich and remove a pre-cat, there is a chance that the exhaust sensor for the emissions testing will detect something (ie. the cat is not efficient enough). I have never failed emissions with my 95
  15. The O2 is typically in the intermediate pipe before the cat
  16. 2 cats in a 94? sounds like someone did something unconventional. No need for 2. Just front pipe, Y-pipe, intermediate pipe, cat, muffler and tailpipe. Sometimes the intermediate is replaced with a resonator but as long as you can hookup your O2 sensor, should be fine.
  17. I suppose that sometimes it's best just to cut off the offending part and move on.
  18. bench testing a starter is pretty simple with a set of jumpers and a piece of wire. use the jumper cables to connect the + battery post to the post on the starter (where you attach the big fat wire). Attach the casing of the starter to ground (frame, liftpoint, battery, whatever). Then take a small wire (14g or so) or clip leads and hook one end to the + clamp on the starter so you have 12v on the wire. Stand on the starter cause it will want to spin away and touch the other end of the small wire to the lug on the solenoid. It should come to life. If it's sluggish or does not run at all, your starter most likely needs to be cleaned/rebuilt.
