umm.. there were no brackets on my smittybuilt bumper (see pics) and you already would have the shanks similar to what i cut off an old push bar i had to use as lower supports. there was NOTHING ELSE used that wasn't already stock on my pathy. oh yeah.. after looking at bens 88... it looked exactly the same to mine.. as far as brackets went......... if they don't have one for a 91.. why don't you just get one soemwhere that does? oh yeah... after looking at teh one you posted above.. the brackets face the wrong way.. look at the brackets on my '92 pathy.. then look at the push bar you pictured....... :contract:

double post. did you look at the link to the way i did mine???? it is almost the same..... feck bolts.... they rust and are ugly.... mine's welded on...... hardly any modding to be done on mine. here's the link again. CLICKY i also have more pics if you need them

:o first off.. glad you got the cast off. secondly, i would march my pathy right back to where it came from and have them FIX IT RIGHT. no.. the RMS will not stop leaking once it starts. you better check how much oil they put in too.... too much can be just as detrimental as not enuff. i would take the pathy back and have them fix it right. you paid for a decent, non leaky job... that's what they need to give you. if it's not the RMS leaking, it may be the oil pan..... take it back ASAP regardless. :contract: :furious:

you mean to tell me you have anhiliated an entire pathy and are building one basically from scratch yet you can not do something as quick and simple as make a few welds?????? what the...... i used everything my pathy already had except the shanks i cut off another push bar i had.......

i can tell you from VERY recent experience that if it's too full you will have no end of trouble reading the dipstick as 88 said.. drain a couple qts out n try again

how do you check your oil? cold? hot? running? i usually check it hot but motor off and i wipe the dipstick 3 times to get an accurate reading. Drain some oil out

92' bumper bracket i have a couple other pics too.. just yank yer bumper off n measure? sssh and if you think these flimsy stock bumper brackets will hold that heavy bar you are sadly mistaken...... bump into a small wall with it and watch things bend... if you want protection.. hehe.. or at least be able to tow your pathy from the bumper if needed.. then do what i did slyCLICKY SLICKS SMITTY

well now lemme see here. when i pulled the original motor.. she had 134,000 on the truck and original motor. now the truck is at 137,000 and the new motor is at 172,000 work that one out

if you overfilled it i suggest you drain some oil out. it can be just as bad as having no oil at all and it will probably smoke too. how much oil did you put in it?

take it to a friends house and FIX IT!! you can do eeeeet! hell.. you just got a new tranny in there.. it's a beautiful pathy dude.... FIX IT!! too nice to tear up n part out. as long as the frame is straight.. i'd give it a go...... :sniff:

sssh hmm.. interesting. if you have a reputable shop do it... like i did, i had mine raised nicely (but not too high) and i still ran a std high flow cat, flowmaster 50 series and 2.5" pipe throughout... and this is how it came out....... (i love it) now.. i dunno what size muffler yer thinkin about.. but it would have to be mighty small to fit where you want it to go.. FYI: these motors like to breathe n fart

i don't know your location.. but i called N.O.W. (Nissan Only Wreckers) in rancho cordova and the first questions i asked were: year of pathy motor is from? mileage? is it a VG30E? (i actually got a VG30i but all the difference is the intakes) why do you have it? what's wrong with it? what kind of warranty will you give me? (i got a 6 month warranty) was it running when pulled? what does it come with (i.e. brackets/a/c or alternator/ps/etc)? (beware.. if it comes with the intake and "everything".. check to see if they left the fuel injection rail on it..sneaky bastids) to see the motor first would be a life saver. but looks can be deceiving as i well know..lol... anyhoo.. the best attack is to not appear "ignorant" or "unknowledgeable".. because they will smell a sucker a mile away. even if you don't know anything.. ACT LIKE IT if you can. ask around in your area who has bought stuff from places you are shopping at.. word of mouth is golden. depending on how badly your motor got damaged is to what you really need.. if it didn't kaboom everything and just bent a few valves.. you may get away with just a set of heads.. tho for the price some charge for heads.. you could get a whole motor n have spare parts. it depends on your location, budget, skill level and time. shop around. it could save you hundreds oh... and welcome to NPORA!! -bounce- oh yeah.. i also asked abotu compression test and they said it had been tested.... i think NOT. but it's a good motor and runs strong.. (it has 170,000 mi on it) oh yeah.. i was fortunate enuff to get the pathy that my motor was a donor from i got the VIN # and a super cool NPORA member ran the VIN for me n gave me the full report

imma get the trail master suspension lift when i win the lootery..or get another job ..whichever comes first. i am not much for body lifts over 2"... but that's just me.. keep my heifer CoG low as i can

:cool2: cool! mine has a rumble/pop when it comes down from 3200rpm or higher.. yours sounds like a slightly deeper tone, but i guess (i have the thorleys too) pipe size, location and cats play a part too. dontcha just love the 50 series!! -bounce- -bounce- -bounce- and yes.. WOW.. that was fast!

you could replace with metal lines then cover them with wire/line protectors... they look like little sleeves that you put over the item you are covering. (like all the wiring under the hood of our pathys!) metal will rust, rubber will crack, such is life. Did you get the right type of lines? i.e: fuel lines? if they are nto fuel line hoses the gas will eventually eat them away, or is it just wear n tear?

oh yeah.. before i got the goodies (under $12) to make my turn signals.. i had the stock ones zip tied n redneck mounted here:

(like the ones on the upper part of the bumper.. the little 55w ea baby ones) slapped some sylvania orange bulbs in there n bobs yer uncle and though they look very low.. they are highly visible because of their brightness sly
