    Clearances

    are your torsion bars sagging?
  3. SF/bay area huh? I am from "the other side of the hill" (now live in the central valley).... anyhoo, yes, stock shocks are fine. there is very little flex in the IFS as simon explained.
  4. well, depending on what you mean by "pry", yes, of everything is removed (screws, bolts, etc) then you just have to teach it who's boss.. GENTLY try to pry up a bit with a screwdriver while wiggling the stubborn sucker
  5. apparently Thomas, YOU got ME thinking, so I went back through the pics of when I was buildin the purple turd... sho as sh!t, I took it out.......... *bangs head on walla nd wanders off back down the hall* btw, my dizzy was tight too.. wiggle, jiggle, pull... be persistent
  6. funny, i left my distributor IN when i took my VC's off.... i had to take the dust cap and distributor cap off. but not hte actual dissy itself..... just a thought...... *wanders off back down the hallway*
  7. i've been using restore for years with every oil change, i definitely noticed a difference in my S-10, and the pathy a tad. it's all about personal preference....... i prefer to use it
  8. if i took my tool box (60+ lbs), and all the crap i have in the back of my pathy, out, i would probably get another 1-2 mpg better gas mileage.....

    Bp Skids

as simon said, the front skids are the same on both trucks. i will see if dave is willing to crawl under king & piglet today to look around and see about the rest.
  10. awesome! lol.. great narration ...... lmao...... don't they know they shoulda got a pathy?
  11. imma chick, but ok lol. if it's just a bit funky, could be it needed an alignment anyway. like nissandoms said, might as well have it done if yer going to take it in for a tune up anyway
  12. i think you already pointed out the issue. you can adjust the toe yourself by adjusting the TRE's..... you'll see the wheels going in/out as you wrench on the TRE adjuster try that, and also check to make sure you didn't fubar/loosen anything down there
  13. well, per our conversation, dave showed the pics to alan (his bro who does all our welding), and he said the metal wasn't heated up enough, and put under enough stress, yes, those welds could definitely break. you have 2 boys, i wouldn't risk it. alan said you could have it re-welded, but apparently when he saw the pics he was shocked. he thought a first timer did those welds. and he was also shocked by the shoddy edges, lack of any smoothing of the metals..... alan also said, if you take it to a good welder, he can grind the welds down, re-weld and make them strong, as they should be.
  14. i have the trans, thunderbox (dave, my better half, otherwise known as Mr Transmission), and all the weapons of mass destruction you need. all YOU need to do is get the pathy up here I have a complete 88 pathy (5 speed) so the gauges wouldn't be an issue i'm in CA :tonguefinger:
  15. i run the NGK iridiums vurry nice pluggos
  16. the tall skinny is your gas pedal, and i in noooooooooooooo way can i see how you SAVE gas driving 70-80mph in a pathy. Auto or 5 speed..... i have both, i should know. and i will bet you $100, unless he did something stupid, the lucas was not to blame for messing up a sensor. i have used lucas for YEARS and had nothing but good results. the lucas should only be used every OTHER FILL up, and it's 3oz of lucas per 10 gals of gas.
  17. i thought chugging was something you did in a drinking contest? can you give a little more detail... like WHAT is "chugging".... what kind of noise is a chugging noise? your muffler wouldn't have much to do with any mechanical issue.... if it is shot, then all it will do is sound like ass and make rattling noises
  18. wow.... as above on the snap ring, yeah, ya kinda need that. as for the brake issue.. that's really weird... have you pulled a wheel off to see what's up? do the hubs lock and unlock properly when the truck is in motion? (i know you have to get out to lock/unlock them.. what i mean is are they functioning correctly)
  19. stay off the tall skinny, drive 65 mph and below and slap some lucas fuel treatment in the gas tank . and all that works, cuz i get 3-4 mpg better doing what i just said.
  20. oooooh.. i hate that hose. blew on me at 65mph... what a steam fest!
  21. the possibilities are ENDLESS (ok, almost)........ under $200 3" JGC coil spring lift....... body lifts, suspension lifts....... this topic has been covered extensively....... depending how much $$ you want to spend, you can mod from $200 all the way up to $3k.......
  22. wow. i had to rebuild/clean my motor to make my sh!t that clean.......
