  1. Wow. Thanks for that helpful tip. I figured which line was the feed. On top of the pump if you are looking at the bulkhead from in the hatch, it is the closest to the front of the car... *Just in case anyone else searches and needs to know this.
  2. Need to know which hose is the high pressure feed, and which is the return... My line burst open, and each time I replace the section a new one busts / leaks. So I'm going to replace the entire thing temporarily with high pressure fuel hose to eliminate the rusty section... Which is the fuel feed on the pump? I've searched for an hour, but the results turned up nothing. EDIT: Figured out, see post 3.
  3. I pulled the cover off the assembly to find a ground barely attached, and when I touched one of the power wires, it broke off... Thankfully it was just the wiring was all corroded. I'm extremely happy about this as it was free to repair. Craig came through with soldering it and a ground piece I needed and the truck is back up and running.... Amazing what rust and corrosion can do.
  4. I've confirmed the fuel pump is not kicking on. I am going to tow it back home and check the wiring first and then pull the pump if the wiring is ok and order a new one. Thanks for the help guys. Any suggestions on where to get a fuel pump? Autozone wanted 189 bucks. A friends shop said they could do 119.
  5. That's what I was aiming at... Can anyone point me to the fuel pump relay? I will search on here, but in class at purdue right now and laptop is about to die.. I will have to get a ride home first and come back to work on it. Is the fuel pump hard to do if it does prove to be it?
  6. Hey guys, I'm new to working on pathfinders, but not cars, and have encountered the first problem with my Pathy. It's a 1991 XE 4WD. I was driving yesterday when the truck shut off... I had full power, but the motor had stopped. I pulled off the highway and popped the hood to check all the belts to make sure the timing belt hadn't come off, or anything else catastrophic happened. I unplugged the battery for a few seconds, and then tried to start it. It fired back up perfectly fine. I figured it must have been as spoof. One of those times an older used vehicle just screws up and it wouldn't happen again. Unfortunately I was wrong. I was on my way to class today when it happened again. The engine shut off and I had full power, the CD player was still playing, but the truck would not start. I pushed it off into the closest gas station, but could really use some help troubleshooting. I waited a few minutes and it fired up just barely running and then died. I'm in sorta of a pinch because school is over in 2 weeks, and I need the truck everyday for class. Any help would be appreciated...
  7. I would like the cheaper offer.. I'm not too interested in becoming extensively off-road capable, but at least if I wanted to go out with some friends, or go places when I need to, then I could... ( I want it to look good. ) Which is the best lift to get if it will be mainly driven on the street? EDIT: just checked the first link.. has lots of valuable stuff, will look into it.
  8. When I start the truck up in the morning, it has a miss at idle. As soon as I start driving it is fine and has no missing. Just at idle. Is this a common, easy to fix issue? The cap/rotor on the distributor look fine new, the MAF looks new, and even the plug wires are very recent.
  9. I'd like to start adding a few things to my pathfinder. - Brush Guard ( I am not sure the different brands, names, or styles.... ) Can anyone point me to some? - Body Lift, or some better method to give the suspension a bit more travel. I have bottomed out the suspension several times just driving around town and the rear is starting to sag. I want the rear to be level, if not at a small rake. Sagging in the rear just drives me nuts. - Rack on top. Would love to add one just to get a secondary place to put things. Anyways, I'd like to tastefully mod it to look better, function a little better, and eventually throw some bigger tires on it.
  10. Here's the other vehicle.... I'll do some searching, and see what I can find on here for the pathfinder!
  11. Hello everyone. I was busy looking for car parts when it hit me that I should take the time to do a few things with my daily driver. It's a 91 Nissan Pathfinder XE-V6 4wd / 4 door. It has 111k on it now ( bought it with 108 ). Very LITTLE rust. Pictures: My plans are to tint the windows 30% all the way around, lift the truck 2 inches, and I'd like to get a front brush guard, but I haven't been able to find the places to do the lift or guard. I would appreciate any help and examples ( pictures of someones with the grill ) Thanks!
