  1. well scratch all this according to the nissan manual the test was done wrong so the level of 125-135 could be alot high with more cranks this was 3 turns it say the standard is 178? and min is 128? huh?
  2. Does anyone know what the compresssion in each cyclinder should be? 1992 Pathfinder vg30E? the first cyclinder was 125, second 125 third 135 on the passenger side head
  3. Well, it was the Timing it was off by three teeth on the crank. the pathfinder runs smooth as it did before all of this happend except! I am getting a little bit of clack (almost like low octane gas) going up hills my friend was saying we just need to throw a timing light on it? but, other then that it does not clack or run bad at idle, arround town or when the trans kicks down. I am going to compression test the engine here in a bit and see what that looks like. I would like to thank everyone here for helping me with my pathe. the timing marks are the same for the 92 and 94 I ended up on a site called nissanhelp.com where I got a manual for my truck. I have decided to keep my pathfinder
  4. :shrug:I have a 1992 Pathfinder SE 4x4 As I posted before I snapped the cam just got the cam in after waiting 7 days for it. I installed it and now it turns over but won't fire or run? I replaced the tensioner bearing and made sure the crank was tdc (keyway vertical) I put cams on marks and tightened the belt I checked the spark and it is good checked compression in #1 cyclinder (good) it is getting fuel into cyclinders (good) check spark plug wires (correct & good) SPARK checked the cap (new) no miles spark plugs (new) no miles wires in good condition I have not hooked up the radiator to engine yet wanted to see if it would fire before putting it all back together Is their something that keeps the motor from starting without water flow? (saftey feature) what I have is the pulley removed, radiator removed, belts removed (except timing belt) Don't know what to do have never had such a hard time getting something back up and running as this pathfinder. This truck did not run great with busted cam but it ran, now it does not fire at all acts like there is no spark? but, I checked that with screw driver I had high hopes for this pathfinder but, I am seriously going to sell it or soon! if i can't solve this problem soon. when does it end? I know i know When I quit buying old nissan crap! lol
  5. It is really interesting everything i have ever worked on with high miles looks nothing close to this I was pretty shocked
  6. Hey guys here is an update on my dead horse lol! well I will let you watch the video not as bad as i thought http://picasaweb.google.com/kharmafactoryr...293243463810802 snapped right after the first bearing
  7. Not a problem I am going to find out exactly what caused this. here is where I am at 10:00AM tow truck arrived (yeaterday) with my pathe 10:30AM I removed the fan, shroud, belts, timing cover I noticed at TDC my driverside cam was dead on but my passenger side was off by three teeth I also noticed micro small shavings (metal dust) in the inner cam wheels removed the harmonic then lower timing case cover. removed and examined the rolling tentioner and spring the roller I could roll and it would continue to spin noisey bearings looked it had a torch held to it rainbow coloring. having the crank TDC I adjusted the drivers cam to its mark when i did the same with the passenger side the cam wheel came forward a good 1.5 inches and could be turned with no resistance unlike the driverside cam wheel. I removed the valve cover and the cam is broken in half. I have not removed the head yet to see what the valves look like? the motor oil is clear and where it needs to be on dipstick and coolant is also (before taking apart) 4:00pm decided to quit for the day Might pull the head today but, I am so bummed I might just leave it for a bit and start riding my motorcycle. it was the passenger side, I have not pulled the head yet I am wonding if i should pull both heads? and just make sure both sides are not hammered. one good thing if i do my exaust manifold will get fixed in the process are headers a hassle to put in? I have taken picture of all of this I will have to post thanks again
  8. 9. hey slick how much do you want for those heads? I am looking at 210.00 per head from autozone for salavage head with 1 yr warranty is that good? just let me know
  10. Well the final verdict is that due to not replacing the rolling tentioner I snapped the passenger side cam almost in half don't know what that is going to cost or if i should just get some other heads? just replaced the tentioner, cap and rotor and the plugs and now I am at a dead stand still! I work for a demolition company thinking maybe ill just take it to one of the job sites and blow it sky high!! starting to feel like i did when I had my porsches never seems to end these pathfinders have a parts replacement schedule I swear buy this then this quits. I know most cars are this way but I have not had but a month break from buying parts for this Partsfinder oh well I guess it is time to buy nissan stock, or sell. my toyota truck 4x4 was alot more trouble free with alot more miles 478,000 when it died I am sure because there was less to break. The SE has all kinds of crap to go wrong and in time it will like everything else. thanks for your help time to go find some more parts to buy
  11. so far I have noticed that the timing is off 2 teeth not sure about the other things you mentioned but will check it out
  12. I just got done removing the top timing cover and the belt is still tight? but the timing marks are showing that it is 2 teeth off the mark the crank is on the last mark the driver side cam is on the marks and the passenger side cam is 2 teeth from being on the marks hope the valves as not toast
  13. I am almost positive this is the same problem I am having with mine found in thread http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...mp;#entry241247 my pathe is home now tow truck droped it off and now I am going to pull the top cover and see just how bad it is. they drove it from the street to my drive way no backfires just sounded out of time
