That is very odd... I've not heard of a problem like this before. I'm still not sure it is the ECU. Any chance that it got wet recently ?? As for the blinking, thats how you read it while in diagnostic mode, but I think you mean something different. Yep, yep and yep. I'd pull a few plugs to see what they look like also... Make sure to check, play with the WIRING CONNECTOR at the MAF, many people have reported problems there... B

Personally, thats what I figure... Anyone who takes a 2x car or truck on the beach is asking for it uless it is set up specifically for sand/mud. Sand can be wierd with soft areas and such. I've almost burried a 1500 pound (MAX) VW Baja that had 10.5x31" in the rear !! Got out by my buddy pulling on a cable that was attached to the front. That little bit was enough to get me moving and make it to harder packed sand. Damn Dowser, it actually sounds like it wasn't your buddys fault... It's yours for recovering a complete POS... B

Good point V6, I was assuming the person ramming me was my friend. If that were the case, I'd just present him with the bill after yelling and and some mild strangulation. If it were someone I just stopped to help, I'd probably fire a 12 gauge slug into their engine block for good measure. Regardless, I agree. I understand the Y pipe leak issue, and that certainly wouldn't help things, but to get so hot, wouldn't you hear and/or smell it ??? I make a point of occasionally driving with the stereo off and the windows down just to hear the cacophony of creaks, thuds and squeals my truck makes to determine if anything is seriously wrong or about to fall off... Um, yeah... As has been said, please install a tranny cooler ASAP !! It'll cost about 5% of what a tranny rebuild will... Make sure to replace the tranny fluid also. To a certain extent, paranoia is good !! B

I'd suggest just turning the rotors, installing aftermarket pads and braided steel brake lines up front, bleed well, etc. That should give you excellent braking as link as the master cylinder is working properly. As for after market stuff, I can't help. I have a 95 with stock rotors... I'm moving this thread to the R50 forum which may help get you some answers. B

Do you know what this loose wire goes to ? Why can you not read the ECU ? Start by checking all the main power cables, fusable link, fuses, etc. I don't understand why it would click or why you would have "spark spiratically"... I'm assuming the starter works and engages the motor. Please post any additional information. B

Good man Simon !! It sounds like you clocked the springs correctly. I'd slightly lower and level the front end before worrying about the rear. Calmini shows their drop mount in their 3" suspension package but I have no idea if they sell it seperately. I believe I saw leggo rims somewhere new for something insane like over $200 each so I'd say that if they are decent and 4 for $125, its a decent price... Personally, I don't care for them... B

Just trim levels, but even they blur... Generally speaking it's the possibility of having leather seats, seat heater, better dash gauges, 'leggo' style aluminum rims, ride adjustable rear shocks (useless in my book), roof rack, and a few other odds and ends. The rest of the truck is the same. Not easily... The hinge supports have backing plates that are in the rear passenger column. If you have no carrier, they are not there, and apparently it is not possible just to insert them without cutting metal. If you try to mount one without those plates, you'll be leaving the entire assembly on the road somewhere. More room and a nifty rear carrier that you can custom mount gas cans, hi lift jacks, shovels, whatever to... Also, you can easily mount any sized tire you would put on a Pathy. I have a 10.5x31" for a full sized spare. I don't want that inside or on the roof. My stock spare is a crappy little 215/75/15 which only goes with me on road trips or serious wheeling (so it never goes ) Out in the open is where tires live, and there is one pin drilled that accepts a 1" masterlock nicely. It would be hard to get a bite with lock cutters. I guess they could just unbolt the carrier.... B
