  1. Well Fred, if you have a aftermarket tranny cooler (if not, get one for x-mas !!), and the fluid in the tranny has been changed per maintanence schedule (along with the fluid in transfer case and differentials) and the drive shafts have been greased, just drive it... B
  2. Just drive it, odds are things are ok... Just don't use 4x4 unless there is a lack of traction or you don't turn or go far. B
  3. Precise1

    No start

First, check the connections at the battery, ground and starter (fusable link also since you are there). Then put a multimeter on the batteryand get a reading. It should be 12+ volts. Next, try to start it. If there is no real voltage drop, power is not getting to your starter. If the voltage drops much below 11 volts your battery is getting tired, but should still crank somewhat. Check the cluch inter lock switch and switch its self. Try whacking on the starter selenoid or talking the starter out and haveing it bench tested. From there you may be looking at thing like interlock relay, ignition relay, etc. B
  4. For an avatar, the maximum size allowed is 120x100 pixels and less than 20kb... After that criteria is met, it should upload and display just fine. B
  5. The arguements against improper harness set up seems very clear to me. True, all of those pictures were on the road, where most peoples trucks spend 95+% of their time... I've never rolled, but I have come close. On or off road, when it happens, it generally happens WAY too fast !! While the intent of the thread is about off road rolls, the safety and recovery aspects, I'd argue that safety is the #1 concern, both before and after. If I ever seriously rolled my truck (regardless of where and how) and was able to walk away from it relatively unscathed, I'd happly put a match to what was left of the truck and call the experience a good deal. In my case, if the roof dropped 1 foot above my head and I couldn't be pushed away, I'd be at least 6" shorter. I care about my neck (and other's) far more than a chunk of metal. V6's links explain a lot. B
  6. Thanks packie88, glad someone else had a similiar/same experience; you know what I mean. That was something I was working up to, fuel pressure and regulator but never having a bad injector problem, I don't know it first hand. Theoretically the ECU will pick up a leaky injector, but that is not the only type of failure... I remember reading something about how to measure the pulses/timing of the injectors, I'll see if I can find it... hjc, FYI, the idle for a manual should be about 800rpm +/-50 or 100. Thats close enough to be acceptable... B
  7. I've never heard tires 'whistle' before. I know I can hear whistling from the intake at roughly 2500 rpm, generally second and 3rd gear. It could be something like a light bar, roof rack, etc that whistles at a certain wind speed. The fact that you are so precise about the speed range and that the effect only spans 2 kmh, I'm guessing it is something with the drive train. This would make particular sense with an automagic tranny. You can't get a general location of the sound source ? Try driving parallel to a wall with the window down, the reflecting sound helps isolate things a lot... B
  8. Are you trying to upload a photo for your signature here at the site or post a photo in a thread? Sorry just a bit unclear on what the goal is. As DJ D said, above a certain size will not be allowed and not all formats are supported. .jpg, .gif and. bmp are probably the most standard, but .bmp's tend to be large. Anywho, please clarify if none of this helps... WTF is all that about ?? B
  9. Just for everyone else, the truck is a 93 2wd automagic. I'd say you need to start checking wires... Do you have a diagram ? I'll see if I find anything in the manual tomorrow. B
  10. Again, with the coil, one would think that it would act the same all the time. Did the problem start before or after you changed the parts listed in your first post ? If the answer is before, inspect all vacuum lines for cracks and holes while you are under the hood. Is your truck manual or automagic ? B
  11. Hmm, I expected something... I suppose it could be the cat, but I would think clogged is clogged, regardless of the motor temp. Try checking the wire connection for the MAF and clean it. Here is the link for that... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5194 Did the running rough happen at once or did it occur gradually ? I'm assuming the 'bucking' occurs when you step on the gas. How does it idle, at what rpm ? B
  12. LOL V6, well noted... Sorry Filthy, my browser timed out before all the photos loaded the first time so I didn't see mounted picts... Thanks for humoring me. B
  13. So, El P, what year, model and trim is this vehicle ?? I'm guessing you are low on brake fluid and maybe need pads and shoes soon ? Faulty power locks as in what? What is faulty, how do they not opperate properly ? The switch on the center console ? Yes, that should release the GLASS of the rear hatch... I have NO idea about the heater, leave it on auto... B
  14. All of the above... Thanks for the link Casey. B
  15. Damn SC88, if I was one of your professors, you'd be in a world of hurt. He said he always has cap lock on, not that it was broken... F, as in flunk, fail, friggin wrong !! Yeah zoni, make it breathe and fart better and you will gain top end. You may loose some bottom end though, funny how it works... Start with a cone filter or cold air intake and see what effect that does. It's necessary to maximize better exhaust and cheaper to boot, so you can't really loose... B
  16. LMAO Pezzy !! Don't question too hard, or you may find out the aweful truth first hand... Ok, asshattery aside, I was really just trying to make a helpful suggestion to keep technical questions from being bogged down by Q's like 'what year do you have' type crap. At this point about all I can say is 'Bite me". B
  17. Nah, I just don't have a life right now so I try to be helpful. Reading every post for the last several months gives one insight and an edge though... Glad I could help. B
  18. Have you tried the ECU diagnostics that I linked you to yet ? Thats the place to start... B
  19. PSST... Try the advanced search function using "locker" (all forums), <90 days, search entire post and you find something like... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5858&hl=locker Ok, I'm done giving you a hard time... If that doesn't answer your questions, let me know... B
  20. Being pieces of crap ?? Going BOOM ?? Sorry, but my Pathy doesn't fit in either category... Don't make me you ! Yes 4wheeler, I agree. I'm new to the SAS concept, but it seems to me like it would work just fine... For about the same cost as a body/running gear swap here in Cali where there aren't a surplus of dead Pathy's... We'll see, I'm still getting info but thats the way I'm leaning... B
  21. I like you more and more Green !! It really just comes down to what you like/want/can afford and the usage you put it to. I've had a 4x4 for almost 15 years and always plan on owning one. Do I always drive it ? NO !! Is it there when I need/want it ? YES !! Thats what it is all about to me. The VW convert is for local trips/enjoying the weather, the motorcycle is for enjoyment/milage/speed and the truck is for hauling/crappy weather/playing. If I had need of a comfy sedan for commuting/trips, I'd buy one. The problem is that there is no 1 vehicle that covers all aspects. You just choose what is priority to you and deal with the rest... B
  22. Yep, 'paint' using the image/stretch-skew function has never let me down. I didn't realize it was an issue... B
  23. Thats your definition of a 'decently built yota' ? That doesn't fall into the 'built from the ground up' or 'totally custom' or 'monster truck' or 'friggin bragging rights trailer queen' category ??? *snicker* Just buy a Unimog and call it good... B
  24. Right on !! Congrats on the score !! While I have not seen them 1st hand, I work in the metal trade and can tell quite a bit from the photos. I've said it before and I'll say it again, He does FINE work !! One question, what do they weigh ?? Don't tell me 'I don't know'. Pick them up and use a bathroom scale then subtract... B
  25. Yours seems very clean Bud !! At least my lowly dirt keeps people from cutting me off for a parking space... Maybe that and the sound of full throttle/ramming speed !! B
