  1. I think you are going to drop a driveshaft, reversing the variable wave of you actually getting home with any resonating frequency... Nice theory, but lay off the booze for a bit, eh ? B
  2. Funny, I would have just cleaned it out with minimal to no disassembly, but then I wouldn't have an automagic or live in sub zero climes... I do feel for you nipples though. Um, let me re-phrase that... Good job on getting it rolling again... B
  3. After you disengage 4x, are you backing up to unlock the hubs ? If so, yes, the first step would be to disassemble the hubs, clean everything well, inspect for wear or abnormalities, repack with hi-temp grease and reinstall. See what it does then. B
  4. I'm guessing it's an 87... Well, you'll have to put a cat in no matter what, I'm not sure what kind of muffler though. Can you cross from one side to the other for more room ? I know thats not desirable, but... What motor are you running ? B
  5. Ok, here is some information but it isn't very specific. Maybe Sniper15 will chime in or you can PM him to see what better information he has like the injector tester tool , and what he finally determined. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...injectors&st=20 Do you have a manual for the truck ? The knock sensor and crank angle sensor should be diagnosed by the ECU. While it shouldn't be the issue, it couldn't hurt to check the EGR and AIV systems, but they are mainly for smog. I'm kind of running out of ideas, but I'm still thinking about it. B
  6. Did you ever get any farther with this Sniper ? B

    No start

Where did you get the solenoid Tinker ? B

    Speedo

Yep, I agree with Rookie, it could have broken or the fact that it is basically a slip fit connection, it could have backed out enough due to virbation or a hard jolt. Definitely pull the cluster and look. If it does not appear to be broken, grab it with some pliers and try to turn it. I don't believe it should freewheel, so that should mean if it does, the cable has broken or the problem is at the other end of the connection if it still does not work when you re-install it. GL and let us know. B
  9. Check this out for info on the tranny colers... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=6486 There is also a post in the Garage/How To section about setting up the torque converter you may want to read. I agree 100% !! I always casually mention that I'm a machinist and do most of my own work on cars, motorcycles, etc and 1/2 the time they STILL try to take me for a fool. WTF is up with that. I just get back by telling everyone I know never to go to the place... Yep, thats when the write up is needed the most !! Thanks and good luck !! B
  10. Damn dial up, I would have had you !! Thanks for the links guys and I was right, it was V6. I actually remembered something !!! The Alsheimers must be in remission... B
  11. Exactly which is that ? The stuff around the body up by the top of the doors by the rain gutter, the foam stuff on the door, or... ? B
  12. Yeah, I use non removable or special bolts for the plate these days. Good point, I never considered that... Of course, I'm not some loser who needs to steal them... Yeah, 2 plates required in Cali also. They want to be able to ID you from either direction, some ticket cameras snap the front plate, and it can give them an easy excuse to pull you over if they want to. I don't have a front plate, so I'm waiting for the disco lights behind me eventually. B
  13. Slick is correct, about the information being previously listed. Someone broke down where to locate the numerical plate and how to read/decode it. The one I'm thinking of was in the last 90 days, and I think it may have been V6 (vsicks pathy?) who posted it. let me know if you cant find it. B
  14. Feel free to take a lot of pictures and do a write up, they are always appreciated. It seems like the cooler plugging has a worse effect with fluid starvation other than heat alone. A lot of people say they never saw the AT temp light go on, or only when it was way too late. I assume you will be installing an aftermarket tranny cooler ? Sorry about it dying on you though, and I wouldn't go to that tranny shop any more either. Sounds like the guy was going to fix the tranny himself and resell or keep the truck. B
  15. You had tires that made whistling noises in a 2kmh range and at no other time ? B
  16. You won't gain much by splitting to duals after the cat, probably nothing more than 2.2.5 or 2.5" single pipe all the way back. The same probably goes for duals all the way back. This is only a 3.0 liter motor, the extra pipe is generally just considered more weight and liability off road, not to mention the extra expense. I believe the best set up is a better breathing intake, headers, high flow cat and a good muffler like flow master or magna flow. Cat back will help, but the real key are headers. Read this thread and the link in it, it should clarify things a bit more. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=6457&hl= B
  17. I'm fairly certain there is a connector underneath, just follow the wire up... Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure. It's 36 degrees outside and I am too lazy to go look right now. B
  18. Dowser, isn't he supposed to test it by setting it on fire, dropping it 5 stories and then working it over with a BFH first (something like that) ? Or are your standards slipping ?? B
  19. Sorry to hear that, I had it happen to my last truck. Idiots are usually just after the registration tags. They got nothing from me though. Whenever I put the new stickers on, I remove the old one first, then, when the new sticker is on, I cross cut the hell out of it with a razor blade. Unless you are really patient and good at jigsaw puzzles, it's worthless... B
  20. Go for it. Hopefully we'll get various input and then I'll see about pinning it somewhere for reference. Thanks for the consideration. B
  21. Check the connections for oil and corrosion, not to mention how crapped up and full of oil is it ? I pulled my starter last year when I changed the clutch, and it looked like a sump pump from a refinery !! It took 2 cans of brake/contact cleaner to get it clean. You may want to try that before buying a new one... B
  22. Well done Dowser, and thanks for sharing... Looks like I'll be looking for the penzoil as I really don't need 60L... B
  23. LMAO you wiseass !! Glad to hear about the new wiper blades, but you failed to inform us of what tire pressure you run and when the last time you vacuumed the interior was among other things... Sheesh, some people's children !! B
