Err, thats not the one I wrote 2-3 years ago and I covered cut taps, roll taps, etc for any bolts not specifically exhaust. Pardon me while I get rather annoyed!!! B
-
Did you bleed the brakes also? If you have air in the lines, the calipers won't retract properly, they will rub and generate more heat, maybe enough to warp the rotors. The slide pins may be dirty/corroded/unlubed/etc which will keep the calipers from spreading also sometimes. As for the bolt, you will need to drill it out. Let me look up some links for you... BRB You wore ALL the way through a brake pad and it's backing? and the piston is touching the rotor? And it didn't fall out? You never noticed any noise or smell? B Read this... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2076 WTF??? I know I wrote a detailed process for removing broken bolts, chasing threads and tapping holes. Where did it go??

I actually got flashflooded bad enough I had to pull over on my motorcycle in Death Valley in June by a single thunderstorm that I played tag with all the way to Vegas... Hurricane in Baja, etc. The desert can be pretty wierd at times! B
-
Hmm... B
-
DUDE, CALL THE COPS!!! Someone stole some of your interior paneling!! Oh, wait, they go faster that way... Or is it so you can wax the inside?? B
-
I know guys, I'm just had the point out the incongruence of the statement. I like what you did, I'm just poking at you. I'm suprised you didn't mention the whole vado/flash flood thing out in the desert. You could get cut off on a nice day in the right circumstances!! (It should work on the wives too...) Yeah, I tooled around Baja a bit so I have an idea... B
-
So, I just have to ask. If the desert is 99% of your wheeling, why do you need a snorkel?? B
-
What are you, some kind of pansy?? I'm considering giving the truck it's anual bath... B

Very nice... I'm sure you could turn it into a decent side job. As a machinist I know that the time that it takes to design, fixture and manufacture a 1 off is 75% of the effort to make 10... It's the same story as the black panther skid plates. Seriously consider it... B

No sheit!! I've seen it enough, from plant and department managers all the way up CEOs in huge corporations. Make the numbers look good for a little while then get promoted/move to another job/cash in stock options/bonuses and run like hell. Meanwhile, equipment wasn't serviced, key personel were 'downsized' or quit, etc and everything goes to srap. B

I don't have an AT, but I'll start with the bad news... As you know, heat is bad. These nissan trannys have some issues and rebuilding them doesn't always take. Do you have an aftermarket tranny cooler? This is the first thing that needs to be installed, like tomorrow!! The stock radiator cooler is prone to clogging and frying trannys. Seriously, check the through flow if you can, just grabbing the lines can tell you temperature wise. If not, don't drive it, bypass the stock unit and install a seperate tranny cooler. It is about 20-30 times cheaper than a rebuild, not to mention a new one! I'd bet this is the problem. Other, more knowledgable people will chime in and I'm sure they will agree... B

$4+ a gallon - what's your personal solution
Precise1 replied to Mr. Pickles's topic in General Forums
Yeah, it's pretty cool for a scooter and with 125cc motor, that means you can keep up with traffic. 80+mpg is nothing to scoff at either. I doubt I'd drop $3k for one though... http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products...08/0/specs.aspx B -
DOH!!! I have to laugh though, I bet he's good at the whole slide, twist, slide, rotate routine!!! Maybe he should do a write up. I am listening to your advice. I haven't had to replace many components for years so I'm not up on recent quality issues. Still, I'd rather pay the $, replace the part and not have to fugger with it again for years. My time is wort $ at all times... B
-
Um, first you have to put it on... 32s should be ok as long as your front end isn't sagging and you dont deviate from the standard backspacing (3.75" I believe, or is it 4"?). Of course, the width can affect things also... At most you may have to trim a little plastic, but I don't recall many people doing that. B
-
In short, yes... Congrats. B
-
It's a wire... Or several wires for that matter. Truck run fine? They don't show in the manual? Sleep easy, it's all good... If it isn't broke, DONT FIX IT!!! B

$4+ a gallon - what's your personal solution
Precise1 replied to Mr. Pickles's topic in General Forums
Is that the wierd little twin headlight bugeyed looking thing? I thought it was a cool idea, but was disapointed when I saw how small the motor was. SHEIT, make it a mellow 125cc at least!! B Ok, I looked it up... No, thats not what I was thinking. Actually, I wouldn't ride that at gun point. No ego involved, those things are farking death traps!! A mile from work? I'd ride a bike or walk.... -
What shocks do you use on your Pathfinder?
Precise1 replied to zack1978's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
You can get a good deal on Pro-Comp shocks. I have 3000s all the way around. Perfect up front, but a little stiff in the rear unladen. Towing or loaded they would be perfect... B -
Well, double check that... Damn, I thought I may have narrowed it down. I'll keep noodling it... B
-
Had a thought (it's been years since I worked on a Z24 so bear with me...). I believe you have a vacuum advance distributor (I did). Make sure the line is hooked up and not cracked. Check vacuum at the distributor end of the line. Does the truck run any different with the line on or off? Hook up the line the the distributor and apply vaccum (yeah, suck it!!) Does it hold a vacuum (checking the diaphram)? I think you get what I mean... If you are not getting timing advance upon acceleration, it may stumble like you are experiencing... B
-
Did you check the connections, both positive and negative? At the battery, at the starter, at the frame, etc? B yozsi, whats an average draw for the coils to send the voltage to the plugs?
-
All depends what your draw is, day or night (lights),etc. The Pathys are intolerant to low voltage. Once it drops below 12 volts, the EFI usually has issues and you won't get far. I've driven a VW Bug Baja all the way down to 8 volts before it died, and thats only because I let the rpm drop below high idle. There is NO way I'd count on any distance or time before you are stranded. I'd look for the first place I could safely park it if I wasn't within 5 miles of home... End of the day, just remove/test/replace the alternator after checking all hot and ground connections for clean contact and verifying the battery's condition. B
-
But the cat back on regardless. There is no reason not to run a high flow version. Be responsible... B
