If it broke when it was running, there could be valve/head/piston damage. I second the compression test, certainly before replacing parts... B

I believe you could also leave the transfer case in 2wd and release the hubs (or manual) so the broken CVs wont turn. Saves taking them out on the trail. Am I missing something? B

%^&*#! monster coolant leak from the rear top

Front right from the dizzy, I believe. Figured that is what he was talking about... This is the thread I was thinking of, but I think there is one more... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...hl=coolant+leak B -
%^&*#! monster coolant leak from the rear top
Precise1 replied to 94extreme's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Thats the coolant bypass hose. Yeah, it is a PITA and is usually replaced when you change the timing belt due to the location. Thats not the one I'm talking about though... B -
You'll find most people running 33" tires have installed a body lift. There are a few who havent though, I suggest you look in the members rides forum... B

%^&*#! monster coolant leak from the rear top
Precise1 replied to 94extreme's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Isn't there some little hose that goes from the block to the intake? I think a few people have had problems with them recently. IIRC it is hard to do without pulling the intake. Do what Dave said and you should find a leak that size. Then bite the bullet and change all the hoses back there for good luck... B -
All right, enough of it applies, like a coat of wax on a warm summer afternoon. Ehem. B

I'll look at my stock ones tomorrow if you like. It's dark and 40 degrees right now, so you have to wait a day... B

I would assume yes, but I can't say where. Google?? Make sure to look in the classifieds here for people parting out trucks. There may be someone near by that has a bumper... B

Use a mechanics stethescope, a metal rod or a screw driver to listen. Injectors click or tap, they do not whistle... B

Doesn't work with my GF... B

does a 92 have a check engine light?
Precise1 replied to Channel595's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Pull the instrument cluster, check the connectors, tighten the brass screws (ground) and replace the bulbs... B -
Ahh, I meant to respond when I read this at work, but I guess I was distracted by work... U joints is the first thing I would look at. When mine failed recently, they made little noise themselves but made a clunking noise (almost always 1st and second gear) as they were shaking the tranny around. Mounts are a possibility, but check the uni's first. Jack up the rear end (jack stands and brace/block the front wheels well) and start it and put it in gear. Now look underneath... The rear of my tranny was being jerked around violently. B

Hey there OC. I don't know the R50 generation well but know many members run larger tires. Best and safest really just means what type of driving you do most and what can be run without interference. I recommend turning the wheels lock to lock and looking at the clearances (remember to consider suspension compression, you can use a jack to simulate this) as this will give you a good idea as to how much room you have for bigger tires. From there a tire size calculator helps a lot. there are many different ones on the web, but I find myself using this one frequently. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Your first replacement consideration is only 1" larger in diameter (3.1" circumference) so I can't imagine there would be any issues. Your second replacement consideration is only 1.5" larger in diameter (4.9" circumference) so again, I can't imagine there would be any issues. It is often a good idea to do lifts and suspension work first so you don't wind up with a set of tires smaller than you really would like unless you plan to have 2 sets of tires; 1 for daily driving and 1 for fun. I'm sure others will chime in soon. B Oh, another thing to do is look in the members rigs section for similar trucks and see what size tires they are running, even PMing them with questions...

You obviously have developed a resonant nusance in the passenger seat. While removing the seat entirely can get rid of the noise, it often simply relocates to the back seat where it can be even more distracting. Try completely wrapping the passenger seat with duct tape and see if that quiets things down a bit. Make sure to wrap the headrest area particularly well... Make sure you let us know what your solution is; it could save others much grief... B

I think it's like with the mob, yo. Wheeling with the posse, werd!! B

Damn, that's some seriously dirty brake fluid!! Also, looks like the contacts were quite corroded. That may have been the reason for the warning lights. Still, if it was leaking, it needed replacing... B

Hmm, maybe that's why I never saw any parts that would indicate ABS. Certainly doesn't feel like it... *goes and looks* B

As in sand dunes or beaches... May be more of a sand rail/ATV thing. B

Generically, just wheeling or off roading. Sometimes someone will be specific like mudding (bogging), rock crawling or duning but that is usually implied by the location/season. B
