  1. /\ Agreed, as long as it is a hole... B
  2. What? It's got a few more miles left in it. It's not worn completely in half... B
  3. Isn't the slave cyl high on the side? That may be leaking also... You should be able to see if it is the FMS; mine is weeping slightly... Unless you go with even larger tires or find a hell of a deal, probably not... B
  4. Well, #1 would be do you have an aftermarket tranny cooler or do the lines run through the radiator? The radiator is prone to clogging... What condition is the tranny fluid in (how old, clean, etc)? This almost sounds like an electrical connection though. Check the wiring to the tranny brain (behind a rear passenger side pannel I believe, don't recall exactly) and to the tranny it's self. B
  5. If you need to, it's not heavy and only 6 or 8 10mm bolts... B
  6. First thing to do is make sure the front drive line is spinning. You probably need a second set of eyes for that. If thats turning, the transfer case is working and the front diff is rotating (if it works) to the CV (they should still turn, I think you'd know but check) on to the auto locking hubs. These need periodic cleaning and regreasing to work reliably (if they aren't broken, but you would probably hear that). Take them apart, clean/inspect/relube everything and reinstall. It really isn't hard. B
  7. Stock? 87 octane, don't waste your $ on anything else... B
  8. No, wait, it's a brace for a flag pole!!!! B
  9. Loose wheel bearings or tension rod bushings?? Poor alignment? B
  10. I think Tex has the answer. It wouldn't be hard to make a bike mount adapter for it though. No, I've never seen one mounted on a pathy before... B
  11. LOL, that question was for GG as you don't have an external tranny cooler mounted yet... And you wonder why it doesn't run well??? B
  12. Depends how much trouble you like... Leaf springs? Coil Over? 3 Link? All depends what you plan to do. Several members here have done the SAS. I can only recommend searching for the answers, they are here. trailchaser, Mookie, 87Pathy, Steevo, Vsicks and several others have posted valuable info... B
  13. Any more info than "this" ?? *sigh* Kids these days!!! Rent it and you will never look at a 1957 Plymouth Fury the same again. I had a 1977 Fury, anniversary edition... B
  14. Search will help, but here it is... It's not hard, but a lot of work. Some one said they were able to shove the tranny back far enough by unbolting the rear tranny cross member and mount while leaving the T-bars intact, but I don't know how good that would work if you mean to clean/inspect everything, replace seals, etc. Figure on pulling the tranny (dropping the T-bars, removing 2 axles, shifters, wiring, starter, etc...) Tricks: Jack the truck up at least 2 feet. Use a tranny jack. Clock the drive shafts. 1 18-24" extension, 1 universal and 1 6-12" extension will allow you to loosen/tighten the upper bell housing bolts. Have a buddy hold the socket in place, this is NOT a 1 man operation. See what you can find on the site, then holler for help. B
  15. What issues do you have with the auto tranny/cooler when it is really cold?? B
  16. Still no pictures. I think you are full of crap... B
  17. You can change it yourself with some tools and know how, but it still needs alignment... I hear you about too cold, I whine when the garage is below 50! They have a few names, so I just describe them. If they make that kind of noise, they are beyond shot... B
  18. Jack the front end up and see how they spin (freewheel). If they don't, check autolocking hub, wheel bearings and calipers... Jack up the rear end and see how they spin (freewheel). If they don't, check the axle bearings and brakes... Start the truck, put it in gear and let the rear wheels spin. Put it in neutral and see how fast they slow down... Isolate possible causes. B
  19. ^ yes, look, but it doesn't always show the problem. I'm guessing bushings, #1 the rod that goes from the LCA back to the frame. They have a tendency to wear/fail and you may have over-exercised the old bushings the other day. That's a complete hunch. It could be the control arm bushings or even the sway bar bushings. Hard to tell from here... Any change in steering or handling? Does it act different turning (either/both directions)? B
  20. I don't know if you need it, but it can't hurt... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...t=0#entry364730 B
  21. Ok, so who is a handy enough welder/fabricator to do the shifter lengthening/bending?? So far we have $10 for the riser +shipping (I won't charge for a small quantity run like this). Any one going to a junk yard able to grab a few shifters to get the ball rolling? Jacobs, can you supply dimensions for the riser and shifter mods that I could CAD?? I guess this would be a Jacobs short throw shifter... B
  22. Boots hold dirt in as well as they hold it out. I don't have any boots on my shocks... B
  23. Well, my first shot searching for "painting aluminum" came up with this... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...inting+aluminum and I know there are a few people who painted their legos and posted about it. If you can't find them, I'll try... B
