The headliner?? B
-
Hey Bud. I may be late with this, but here goes... I had a hard time finding a M14x1.25 roll tap also BUT I did find some M14x1.25 spark plug hole thread chasers that would probably work. I think these are long enough if you pull the A arm... http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLM...g+Thread+Chaser http://www.autobarn.net/lisleplugchaser.html Hope it helps... B

No problem. If I'm ever in the area, I'll have to stop by and say hi... B
-
Better than outright failure and stranding you, right?? B
-
Those are the best of your choices. I believe the only other Ca legal headers are the pace setters, but double check on that. Pace setters are better than stock manifolds, but fit/finish isn't all that great... I'm holding out for some thorleys. B

Sounds like a 'Police academy wouldn't accept me' kinda guy. Say what you will about Cali but no one would inspect, much less question the CL... B
-
You were surfing for technical help on a farking phone??!!?? You drastically need beatings... B
-
LMAO. You have two similar SUVs, but the Toy is garaged for lack of tires? Sounds like selling it and getting an older civic or the like is the way to go... B
-
Give me until tomorrow to post what is needed. You can search and find the same info... B

Sounds like problems. Lack of flow could be part of it. Bypassing the stock radiator cooler is an answer, as they tend to clog/starve flow/let the tranny overheat. They clog, due to sediment from the tranny. Tranny sediments from parts wearing/poor fluid/heat/lack of fluid changes. Wear and heat are the two big killers of these trannys. See how it is all full circle? IF I was you, I'd install a tranny cooler (at least bypass the radiator for test purposes only), flush/change the fluid and see what happens. Don't be complacent about these things... B

Yep, my bad, that didn't filter in. Part of it was the 'work bench'. The few welders that I knew had a seperate section for welding only, usually a heavy cart with a metal top... Besides, I see a vice on a bench and I think it is going to be used for hammering or torquing... B
-
Solder?? B
-
Come on over and make me a work bench any day!!! (the vice should be on the heavy/braced end, just my experience) B
-
Agreed!! At least you will be reimbursed... Sorry it was such a headache. Now, you buy some touch up paint and new tires!! B
-
Ok, I'm not the expert, but what you said happened is a major tranny failure. Normally R fails first and then other issues arise... Usually this is due to failing parts/overheating-clogging/old fluid-sediment. All kinda inter related... I wouldn't count on 250 miles straight driving to get home at all, but I've been wrong before. Try to meet a friend with a car hauler on the way... (or just have them pick you up) Do you have an external (aftermarket) tranny cooler? If not that may be the problem as the stock radiator cooler tend to clog... It just might be age and wear. Damn, I don't like these automagics, and I just bought one... B
-
Damn GG. That's mighty helpful of you!! At this point, I would identify which fuse is for the dash illumination and make sure you are getting power to the fuse. then chase the wire(s) from the other side on up into the dash, checking for power at every connection. B

Beck Arnley and AC Delco are the only names I recognize. Both should be fine. I put in some OEM unit and it worked great. You may want the mechanic to price whatever you choose, he should be able to get it cheaper so you can save a little $... Glad to hear the TOB is holding in there. That lets you schedule when the work gets done rather forced to do it now... B
-
LOL Ok, from the queen bee... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=20781 Depends if the 2.8 tranny is the same as the 4.3. Who knows with chebby... Yeah, a few people have done the same thing. If you could put together a basic write up, well, that would be appreciated. B

Yes, at least according to pictures 2 & 5. Not just 'replace the bushings', but 'replace the bushings, get frame bushing cup welded back on and get a new compression rod'. That will realign the lower A arm and from there you can look for any other damage that occurred. The damage isn't so bad so far... B
-
Damn!! Essentially, you climbed a curb at 20-30mph... 1) If your air filter is wet, replace it (or at least dry it well). 2) Need pictures... 3) Not a bushing, the actual mounts are gone?? Pictures... 4) Can't tell from here... Tie rod ends? 5) Check the wiring connections. Give them and the alternator a good shot of WD-40 B

You are welcome. If you have a LSD (limited slip diff), make sure to use oil that is LSD rated or use a LSD additive. B

With the hubs disengaged, it's not 4x4. I don't think that's the issue, unless the hubs are not disengaging but I'll assume that has been checked. B

And at the end of a trail, he always has marvelous cookies to hand out... B

How are the U-joints? B

Just rust treat the sheet metal and then there is no concern... B
