ARB makes a solid unit, but they are discontinued for the WD21 pathfinder. The WD21 and D21 (Hardbody PU) share much of the front end, including frame mounts. The D21 ARB will 'bolt up' to a pathy, but be low due to the 1.5-2" 'factory lift' that the 4x4 hardbodies came with. I'm afraid you'll have to do a minor body lift (1-2") to compliment... See below. There are hoses that connect your two fuel rails for the fuel injectors. They loosen up and leak sometimes, usually all it needs is the clamp tightened. Start there. I haven't heard much about carbon canisters clogging so I'm of little help with that. Do you have a copy of the 94 FSM?? What does it say? B

Thanks Derek, this seems like a How To pinable item to me... B

Yup, if you are keeping the truck (which building an engine for indicates), this is a good upgrade. Timing belt replacement every 105k miles instead of 60k is significant. B

I have a used sending unit in the parts truck in the driveway. Do you want to buy it for cheap? B

I'm thinking O2 sensor, MAF wiring or Engine temp sensor, but you need to get that code cleared before you want to check again... B

Ok, I fixed!! Sheesh!! The break down is easy since there weren't any motor options for any given year other than the 2 door model. (Correct?? And 90+ Z24 in NA??) This is for North America, not the rest of the world where there actually were options... 86.5-89 Z24I TBI or VG30I TBI 90-95 VG30E MPFI 96-00 VG33E MPFI 01-04?VQ35 05-10 VQ40 B

Not many that I know of. No real need as WD21s don't normally overheat. If one gets hot, there is a problem with the cooling system; that's a pretty big radiator for a 3 liter motor... B

Have you tried just snugging the 10mm bolts on the oil pan?? Something like 8-10 ft/lbs IIRC. Just like valve covers, as the gasket ages/shrinks the leaks start. I've fixed or drastically slowed down leaks many times this way. Give it a shot, takes 5 minutes and is free... B

Repairs?? My brakes need attention. It was in good shape when I got it and I fixed/maintained anything it needed already. Mods, improvements and upgrades is a much longer list... B

Yep, the wife's R50 got just over 20mpg on a trip, most of which was at 70-80mpg and that was before a tune up and with one injector not working properly. I expect 20-22mpg on the highway now... My WD21, not so good; 16mpg average is good. But the one before that got 20+ mpg highway also. B

It's a nice touch, even in NorCal... B

Yes, I have 31x10.5" tires on them on my first pathy. I felt they were a bit pinched and wore faster due to it though. Most tire manufacturers will state a recommended rim width, it is usually 7-9" wide for a 31x10.5" tire... B

I recommend you send the PROPERLY designed prints to Thorley for manufacture. B

I've got a 1995 WD21 that is mildly modified with suspension, lift, exhaust and bumpers. It has 104k miles on it so in my book, it isn't a clunker although age wise it is maturing. I plan to be driving this truck in 10 years and fully expect it to last that long at least. Other bonus is that it is paid for... With the proper maintenance and a few fixes, the pathfinders are remarkably capable even in most stock trim and their reliability is legendary. It looks good?? B

That is a 5.5% power increase. Add an intake and exhaust and it may hit 160-165hp. Install a VG33 with the same intake and exhaust and you may get up to 190hp!! *dreams* B
-
That is entirely untrue. Frame rust out here is a complete oddity limited to vehicles that were in salt states at some point. You just have to come and get (kill) them... B

Thanks for the clarification, I'm learning. If I get a house soon, I should be able to get a 220 volt welder instead of the 110 unit I've haven't bought yet... B
-
Ok, I don't weld but I have looked into teaching myself and buying a welder and this is the basics as I understand it. The price of the welder doesn't reflect it's penetration per se, but the duty cycle, how long it lasts and adjustability/ease of use. Penetration is estimated by amperage and voltage (the 120amp 230 volt should weld deeper than the 125amp 110 volt unit?) If you are welding 1/8 inch DOM tubing for a roll cage a 110amp 110 volt welder should do as good as a 200amp 220 volt Lincoln welder costing 10x as much. It may take longer due to the duty cycle but the welds should both penetrate all the way through. If you are trying to weld together a trailer hitch out of 1/4" tubing and plate, don't even try with the 110 volt one as it won't penetrate, you'd have to use the more powerful (and expensive) Lincoln model. I agree, go with the HF welder since it can be converted to MIG, a major plus, not to mention I'm pretty sure it has more welding penetration due to being 230 volt. I highly recommend buying a book on welding and reading up, both before you start welding, and probably before you buy a welder. I can recommend a good, complete guide when I get home... B

No, no mounting hardware, but that is pretty simple to put together. I have 2 SS's sitting in my garage, maybe I'll put one on... Yes, it is a great deal!! I wonder if they still have those package deals?? B

OOOhhhh!!! That is sooooo tempting!!! The fifth is the steering stabilizer... B

Rim Dia = 15: Yep Rim Width = 6 : Yep Backspacing = 3.75 or 4.00? : I had always seen 3.75 stated, but someone recently raised question to that. I don't think it was ever fully resolved. I'll look when I get home out of curiosity now... Bolt pattern = 6 on 5.5 : Yep How are those KM2's treating you? B
-
^ Yeah, pretty much that. I just went with OEM style rather than mess with it. There isn't much more I plan to stuff under the hood anyway. B
-
Yep, I put the 3000 series on my first truck. I thought the front end felt very good, but the back was stiff when empty. Loaded it drove very well... If you get the 5 shocks for $100 deal, it's hard to beat. B

No T-bars so that's gotta be more than 10% difference. Regardless, it's easier than a WD21 but still big job. B
