  1. You didn't change your dizzy cap either... B
  2. Great! What exactly did you ask for, part number or vehicle fitment?? Just helps to flesh out the threads for future reference. Thanks. B
  3. Good Luck Bud!! I'm a bit jealous, I think I'd like a TD myself... B
  4. Condensation. Wait a bit on the wires and wires, I doubt it is the case. This is fairly common, possibly by overtightening or temperature(extremes) and vibration. My first Pathy had a stumble at low rpm in first and second gear. It had lost the rotor electrode in the center of the cap and was just arcing down. It melted a nickel sized cone around the rusted spring in the center. Other than that it ran fine, I even put the cap back on and drove to the auto parts store. This alone might do it, but it will make you look at your dizzy cap... I'd also check the ecu temp sensor and TPS for resistance/function per the FSM and check the ecu for stored codes. That shouldn't take long at all. Good luck. B
  5. The Rough Country were made by SuperLift, just finished differently. I don't think Rough Country carries them any more but I haven't checked myself. I believe SuperLift still carries their 'brand' though. I can't remember what years Hardbody pickup to ask for though so I'll have to look that up. Here is a thread that shows all the Upper Control Arms (UCA) that have been available... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=30104&st=0&p=570012&hl=control&fromsearch=1entry570012 B
  6. LOL it's all good!! A full set of 4 would be minimum, but 8 can't hurt, they are some odd size that is hard to find, M12x1.25 or M14x1.5, I can't remember which. Good luck and happy hunting... B
  7. Damn, I forgot last night!! If you see this in time, I really need some upper control arm nuts, the ones that tighten the bushings on the spindles... Either way, thanks Bud!! B
  8. Howdy Bud!! The calipers work great once I got the corrosion off of the battery contacts so they stopped shutting off randomly but I haven't installed the headlight bulbs yet. Need to rewire through relays first and I'm just too damn busy with the new house right now. What did I send you, glove box latch?? Wiring?? So many parts and so many people... So yeah, all is well here and I hope the same is true for you (other than this tranny crap). Let's see... I am looking for... 1999 R50 sunroof glass with good seals. Xterra roof rack, early models only. WD21 rubber window seals for the windshield and rear side windows. WD21 headlight wiring plugs. WD21 front corner lights. Fit them all in a flat rate box and I'll buy you a lottery ticket!! B
  9. You were busy and excited... Some of us can handle it... It's a great motor, just not one with sufficient power for a 2000 kilogram vehicle. If it was, I wouldn't have sold my D720. B
  10. I used it as a beer coaster. I need to order some nuts... B
  11. It cracks me up when people talk about failing components and then use 7-8 trips around the earth as a 'poor' standard metric... B
  12. Hah!! Glad you got some $ and hopefully scared the crap out of the kid enough that he'll be a little more careful and considerate now. They are limited by having the aerodynamics of a brick and the power of a weed eater... I seriously wonder if my WD21 would pull up to 100mph without a downhill and/or a tailwind at work and mine has full headers/exhaust system. In all honesty I don't plan to try either... B
  13. By the looks of that air filter, I'm surprised you didn't hydrolock it!! It runs, eh? Any knocking? I'd pull the plugs, crank it a few times and do a compression check on each cylinder before anything else. B
  14. Ya, I understand. Good luck with the search. Be patient and you will find something... B
  15. Are you sure that it is shifting into the gears? I don't know much about the automatic trannys but the factory service manual has a big section on troubleshooting. Have you downloaded it yet? As for the ATF, it is just fine. The manual states ATF or gear oil, 75w-90 IIRC. Most people simply run what their tranny fills with... B
  16. *snort* Sorry to hear. No odds of picking up another trannt?? B
  17. Yes, pretty much... The fan clutch really only does anything when you are under 25-30mph. If the truck heats up at idle/lights and cools down at speed, I'd bet that is the problem. The big fan in front of the radiatormade the difference in this case... Still flush the system and make sure you have good flow first though. Try spinning the fan clutch (when cold) by hand as fast as you can. If it freewheels more than 1/4-1/2 turn it is probably worn out. Obviously check to see if it is loose or wobbly. B
  18. Off hand, you need to remove the drive shafts, torsion bar cross member (for clearance and the tranny mount attaches to it), the shifters, slave cylinder, some wires and the starter. It's not hard, just a lot of work... I replaced everything including the flywheel for about $350. So mechanics there work for $10-$14 an hour?? Hard to find one for less than $60-80 here, dealership shop rate is $130 an hour. Seriously!! Thieves... B
  19. Yep, and exhaust x-member and a frame x-member... B
  20. It's a bit of work to pull the tranny, but it isn't terrible if you have a good tool selection and a decent place to work on it. I'd do it again rather than pay the $1000 for a shop to do it. There are two ways to handle it. Pull the tranny, replace everything, resurface the flywheel, replace the rear main seal, reinstall the tranny and plan not to do it again for 100k miles. Don't remove the T-bars or the tranny, just slide it back far enough for you to replace the throw out bearing, pressure plate and clutch plate and hope nothing else fails before the new clutch is worn. Either way, plan on using a tranny jack, these trannys are large and heavy! B
  21. Stick with the TD27 and read up on the diesel mods. You get more power and retain the reliability from what I can tell. Look for stuff by KiwiPete and others that chime in with him. B
  22. I think there is a fart at 26-30 seconds, was that you or the Pathy?? B
  23. Good write up, it seems pretty accurate and you did a nice job with the pictures. We'll wait a bit and then pin it in the How To section. Thanks!! B
