Wow...that is very generous of you to offer your assistance Jay. I don't think I speak for just myself when I say that we appreciate it greatly. I think the biggest thing that is pressing right now is actually hosting the site - and uploading/updating member's pages. I know that mine is extremely out of date. However, the only person that has access to that side of thie site is Mr.Jim - and he's in a bit of a tight spot right now and cannot access the forums. I'm sure if your company were to donate hosting to NPORA that would fit exactly what we need right now. I don't think we need to have the forum reskinned, or have the website redone, just yet.

I go to a Valvoline Instant Oil Change (NEVER GO NEAR A JIFFY LUBE!!!!!). The guys there actually know about cars and can appreciate them. The one here I get out and sit down and chat with the guys while they're changing my oil. They're all cool guys. And...it only costs about $5 more than doing it myself buying the same oil and filter...so I figure, why not let someone else worry about dropping the skidplate, dripping oil down their arm and not have to worry about crawling around in the dirt. :idea:

If you think the 10ga ones are heavy at 80lbs...you should try the 3/16" ones at 105lbs! That's why I just let someone else do it. They're paid to do it, and if the break a bolt, they ahve to fix it.

With the BlackPanther skids (at least the newer ones), there are provisions for draining the oil, however, you need to remove the front plate to get at the oil filter.

I just go to Valvoline...make them take off the skidplates..haha.

Sounds like what happened to Jed...his MAF went bad. Clean that up and also check the MAF grounding.

Well Deej, there is a reason they call them Nerf bars....they're as soft as NERF! LOL... If you do NOT go offroad, or only do forest roads or the like, then the SE style tubular step rails will do you just fine. If you go offroad, even moderately, where there is a chance of rocks, I would invest my money in a set of the Ultimate Rock Sliderz from 4Crawler (Link posted above). I have them and have wheeled the living heck out of my truck and do not have ANY rocker damage to show for it. Control arms and crossmembers and what have you, sure...but the sliders and rockers are all 100%.

The R50 has the same TX10 T-Case as all other Nissan Trucks. However, it does call for DEXRON III ATF. If the quick lube place figured that it needed 80W-90 GL-5 Gear Oil, that would chew it right up.

Go down to Radio Shack and get a radar detector mount and hang it from that. Or, get a suction cup hook from home depot and use that.

I think that part of the search problem is that every forum uses a different software, so every forums search feature is different.

I've got 105k on my Original rear brakes now...and they show no signs of quitting any time soon. I clean out the drums every diff-oil change, and they still looked almost new at 90k miles!

You can comfortably fit a 31x10.50" tire on your stock wheels, and you ought to be able to fit a 32x11.50" tire as well. I think that the TM lift should be a final thing. Yes, cranking the T-bars will affect the ride of the truck, but I wouldn't say it makes it uncomfortable. It'll ride more like a truck, and that's a good thing! You can get the JGC springs from a Junkyard or, you can purchase a set from 88Pathoffroad right here. Check out the Classifieds under Parts For Sale. He may still have some laying around.

I'm sorry, I don't think I quite understand what your issue is. Are you saying that when you apply the brakes while in motion to decellerate, there is a vibration? Or does the vibration only happen when you're stopped with the vehicle in gear and the brakes applied?

Yeah, I noticed that. You might want to think about some thick gauge diamond plate or some 3/16" sheet to cover up the openings around your radiator, and to hide all the "junk" that the factory bumper hides. Then, you could even mount turn signals in it!

And generally, even if there are topics which spark debate, the debating is USUALLY kept very civil and within reason.

If you had the t-case fluid changed a month ago, and the shop found an amount of shavings worthy of mentioning, you should go back to the place that did the oil change and demand they fix it. They obviously miffed something up when they did it. Too little fluid, the wrong kind of fluid, could be a number of things. Hell, I've heard horror stories of Quick Lube places using ATF in Manual transmissions and transfer cases! That's what happened to my friends HB. Before you go and do something drastic like trade in your super awesome truck - call the shop and ask to talk to the mechanic who worked on it, ask him to give you an estimate on how much metal shavings he found. A small amount is normal. I'd say your best course of action would be to change out the tranny and t-case oil and see what happens with them. It is very possible the place that did it (I'm assuming you got this done while you were back in Ohio since it was a month or so ago?) used the wrong type of fluid. Oh, and get on AIM ya bum!
