The QX4 is not mine. The Pathy next to it is...haha. That is the same block lift that Keith (system-f) is running. Keith was looking into the possibility of producing them and made 2 test kits for a couple of folks. Matt (the owner of the QX4) is one of the testers.

That's exactly why I haven't installed mine yet..haha.

New shocks/springs and struts No lift kits.
vengeful replied to 01Pathy3.5LE's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
The Old Man Emu (OME) medium duty springs may be just what you're looking for. They are a stiffer spring, and will make the truck ride more like a truck than a Soccer Mom Station Wagon. They will also give you a little bit of lift because of the extra stiffness, but it is less than an inch. As far as shocks and struts go. I've been VERY happy with my KYB GR-2 struts. I'm definitely going to get another set when I replace them. For the rear shocks, I've used OEM, and the Rancho 9000s. I was happy with the 9000s, but they are pricey. I'm about to put a set of Bilstein 5100s on to replace them. -
If they didn't change the filter, I wouldn't trust them with anything.... I get a squeak too while I'm driving. I know it's my brakes. How many miles do you have on your truck? It is possible that the calipers are sticking and causing the pads to contact the rotors and wearing the pads out prematurely. That's whats going on with mine. I replaced my pads about 20,000 miles ago, and they're down to the squeal strips. I'm reluctant to replace it though, because I need new rotors and calipers, and that'll get expensive.

Here's a link to a writeup by someone who installed them: http://www.rit.edu/~jgr0346/headers/headers.html

Changing the fog light bulbs is relatively easy. All you need is one wrench to take out the fog light housings and the bulbs just kinda twist out.

I thought the LE and Off-Road Package on the SE started in 97...my mistake.

It's been done with 4" BS on the older Pathies. With the different bumper style on the newer ones, the edge of the "wings" comes back a little bit farther than the old ones, so more trimming is required for 32s. I've got 3.75" BS on my rims with 32x11.50 with (well, not anymore) no rubbing. It rubs now, but that's only cuz some idiot munched my bumper in the wal-mart parking lot and it got pushed back a little bit. :furious:

I had 31x10.50 tires when my truck was stock.

Unfortunately, the caster is not adjustable.

I'm going to be living in Phoenix. They do require testing.

From DC. I'm in VA now.

Digging up an old post... Virginia has changed their emissions requirements, and all they do now is hook you up to the computer to make sure there aren't any emissions related codes while the sensors are ready. I was unaware of this, and used my scantool to clear it out and, naturally, the sensors weren't ready when I went in to get my truck smogged. I thought they still put the sniffer in the tailpipe, I wish they still did, because I pass that with flying colors....stupid EVAP!!!! Also, I've got an O2 sensor code which would fail me, and an idle control malfunction code which would fail me. The knock sensor wouldn't fail me. DAMNIT!!! :furious: Well...it looks like I'm just going to be registering the vehicle in Arizona. Though Phoenix has emissions requirements, too, but at least I have until the end of July to fix the problem.

Also, with the manual hubs, you have to be sure you keep them greased, or you risk blowing it. Be sure that all nuts and bolts are tight. Another vulnerable part is the alternator, though not nearly as vulnerable as on the Xterras.

I'm not.... I'm running the USW Series 84. But yes...the center hole is large enough. 4" backspacing may be pushing it on a 32x11.50, but it should fit. 3.75" would guarantee fitment, but they'd stick out like a SOB.

If you're talking about the ones you can get from Autozone or the like, don't bother. They're junk. I tried them out and they didn't have half the light intensity that the standard halogens had. Not to mention they are incredibly overpriced at $8.99 each, as opposed to $1.49 for 2 halogens.

Is it leaking from the manifolds, or from the piping? If it's the manifolds, I believe Nissan extended the warranty on them to 100,000 miles - though that could be only for the VG33 manifolds. If it's leaking from the flange or the piping, you're on your own.

The only way to get an LSD on a 96 was with an XE level truck and the sport package. The sport package also added a few other options like power windows, air deflector, etc. The SE and LE came with reflective privacy glass, standard. The SE and LE had an auto setting on the climate control, that automatically adjusted fan speed when a desired cabin temperature was reached. It's not very effective, and I've ended up baking in winter. The transfer case has been the same for all Nissans for a very long time. It's the same TX10 as is in the Frontier, Xterra, Hardbody and WD21 Pathfinders. The rear axle is an H233b. Front is an R200. Your differential gear ratio will be able to be found by looking at the placard inside the drivers door. If the axle code is HG43, the differential gear ratio is 4.363:1. If it reads HG46, the ratio is 4.636:1. Factory Power output rating is 168 HP @ 4800RPM. Factory Engine torque rating is 196 ft-lbs @ 2800RPM. Ground clearance is 7.5 inches at the rear differential. You can find more specifications here.

If you go off-road, and are running around with rocks...you should invest in a set of rock sliders.
