  1. Should have got it out while the door was open. You might be sorry!
  2. There was a topic a few months back about brush guards causing more damage than offering protection in an accident. Were you wearing yours? Just curious if this is an Urban legend or causes more damage than had you not had one.
  3. lime green with liciense plate "WITH NV" j/k I like Nissan Red!
  4. Another post reminded me of this one. The stock sunvisors have good instructions on the back side how to engage and disengage 4wd. Attention to Detail or required by law? Not really sure.
  5. If you have the stock sunvisors, push down the drivers side visor. There are pretty good instructions on the back side. Recommend he stop, read, and think the first 3 or 4 times he engages 4wd. It becomes 2nd hand after that. Let me know if you don't have the visor. I will post a pic that you can print out.
  6. The recording is worse than the transcript. The sad thing is that they fired the customer service guy they trained not to cancel the account. How'd you like to work for jerks like that!
  7. Sad but true. I've lived in 4 different states and have only taken one written and one driving test my whole life. I'm 36 now. Go to the DMV give 'em your old license and they keep giving you a new one. I'm sorry for not asking how the family was earlier. I do hope they continue to be well.
  8. The only time me starter died was right after an oil change. Gotta put a rag over it before you pull the filter. keep it clean, gravity hates you! overheating how long? how old is the T'stat and H2o pump? I did notice about two weeks ago we got our 1st hot summer days. 95deg+ the temperature gauge goes almost to halfway point now. Used to hover around a quarter of the way up. It was a noticeable difference. Not overheating though.
  9. Check the light in the trunk and glove box. You might have to look at it at night. Cost me $75 bucks once to be told my glove box light wasn't turning off. The fix was to remove the bulb. Tallk about feeling stupid!
  10. It's not just AOL. have you ever tried to cancel any monthly subscription? AOL :contract:
  11. Do you currently have a sunroof? I looked into it once before, but it was not possible. My '87 did not come with a sunroof. The one I found in the J/Y that was a factory installation. The factory installation has a pressed opening that I couldn't duplicate. If you do have the factory pressed opening and the measurements are the same you should be good to go.
  12. Sound like some skid plates might be up for sale. No kidding every time my wife drove my Chevy truck, she broke something. she won't touch the pathy
  13. Congratulations! Make sure they hang some Pathy pics in her room. Preferably a 2dr. It will grow on her. Parents just don't get their kids started early enough. Your going to make a great Uncle. Probably even save her life.
  14. I would call the police and report it stolen. Tell them the story. Legally speaking the Landlord is holding property that belongs to you. I don't think it would be grand theft or anything, but they might have a way to allow you to legally enter the property to obtain your stuff. I would meet the police at the shop with a chain and a side grinder. See if they would let you make entry on the property if you promised to secure it when you left.
  15. I've been guilty. He said he had a 2-door. Ever notice they seem to post exactly 12:01am? What's that all about? strictly computer driven or marketing tool.
  16. It would be nice to have a post devoted to Acronyms for reference from time to time. I just threw a couple of common ones out there. Please feel free to correct me. Also, please post the ones that come to your mind or PM me. I will edit the 1st post to include what you've added and keep them alpha/numerical order. Not that I am looking to maintain a "G" rating, but would like for this post to be useful. If a suggestion gets too stupid or plain vulgar I won't edit the post. You will have to start your own post. Hope you find it useful, interesting and maybe even fun. Here we go! 17. On mine the wire was ran from roof lights to floor. The driver seat was already removed, so I ran wire under the carpet along the door. This was easier than doing it right (along the door sill as you mentioned). The seat made for a convenient ground where it bolts to the floor. What you have going sounds good.
  18. Thanks for reminding me at 36 I am closer to 40 now than to 30. Coasting downhill and picking up speed!
  19. Stop right there. I won't read any more.
  20. Not to pile on Jay, you appear to have a million ideas but are only working on one or two of them at a time. Focus your energy on the one or two things you have control over, post pics of the progress. It gives others the satisfaction that they are in the garage helping you. You and I are alike in some ways, with exception of age. I'm and old fart. I have a pathy, some good knowledge, but limited resources and not a lot of practical experience. I've found that I get more help and insight when posting about present projects than future projects. People just seem to be more interested in the NOW stuff than the later stuff. Don't take things personal, if someone gets under your skin with a post. Do not reply. That's an invitation for a pile on. my $.02 Regards, Daniel
  21. Distributor in the front of the engine. The front lip on the ashtray can be used as a bottle opener -alcohol-
  22. Aw Shucks Guys, I'm tearing up. :sniff:
  23. See if this helps The door latch mechanism is the circle at the top. The power door lock is the circle at the bottom This is the power door lock. the rod with the arrow need to go straight up to unlock. With the passenger seat removed you should be able to get your hand in the hole and pull the rod up. This is mechanism that opens the door. In this photo it is in the down position. (closed) In this photo it is in the up position. (open) Hope that helps. Either way your in a tight spot.
