  1. As far as damage to your ride, check your plugs and rinse them with some gas. They might foul with all that oil on them. Some experienced Mechanics can chime in and let you know if the overfill could cause problems with seals or gaskets. Like I said it happened to me once before, self inflicted. I just drained the oil and no problems afterwards. Hope it is nothing more than inconvinent.
  2. Whatever it is can you also make a templet to shield starter from oil filter changes? That would be a useful project.
  3. Skid plate with Hole for oil change
  4. I would return it also and demand refund. That might cause them to take some steps toward providing quality service. Those places tend not to pay well and the knowledge of their staff is reflected.
  5. When I was just started to drive, I overfilled the oil in my cutlass. Man did it smoke. I drained the excess oil and it ended up okay. Maybe you got an overfill? The problem with the oil change place is that they put the fluids in with a nozzle dispenser. I've always had a phobia of getting brake fluid or tranny fluid instead of motor oil. I've never heard of this happening, but it looks like they could easily grab the wrong hose when they're trying to get you out in less than 5 minutes.
  6. Welcome aboard. Good tires are gonna make it even better!
  7. Describes mine 2 a T. I don't mind hanging it out the back door. The only time I use it is to pull a single axle utility trailer to HomeDepot. The rest of the time Its tucked neatly away in the side pocket.
  8. It probably should be called a gas guesser rather than a gas gauge. When the tank is full the gauge shows more than full. When you almost empty the gauge shows more than empty. It is more accurate than a weatherman, but not much.
  9. I agree, however I would have never known the answer to the original question if the wiring installed by previous owner didn't need screwing with every time I hitch up. It is on my to do list to solder and heat shrink as well. Take pride in knowing You will never be confused with a Red Neck! I however fully intend for my last words to be "HEY YA'LL WATCH THIS!"
  10. Determine Pathy’s MPG. Determine fuel tank capacity. Fill tank completely full. Reset odometer. Record Mileage when light comes on. Divide this mileage by MPG. Subtract total from Fuel tank Capacity. Multiply remainder by MPG. Total will be how many miles to total empty. Example…. 17.54 mpg 20 gal. tank capacity Light comes on at 301.9 miles. 301.9 / 17.54 = 17.21 Gallons of gas have been used before light comes on. 20 - 17.21 = 2.79 Gallons of gas remains in tank 2.79 x 17.54 = 48.94 miles to empty. I do not know your fuel tank capacity, but it would be most important to know your remaining fuel when light comes on. MPG can fluctuate greatly by driving conditions. Also hesitation can occur with a gallon gas remaining in the tank. Further warning may be philosophical, but I believe impurities in the gas can be more concentrated in an empty tank rather than a full tank. Empty tanks can also condensate. This can be bad for fuel system. You might want to consider a fill up after every 100 miles. There is no difference in cost putting 5 gallons of gas in a full tank or empty tank.
  11. I'm with Mookie, I thought all wires were connected on driver side. Not true. If it helps you ID proper wires faster. Left turn is - Blue & Gray w/ Red Stripe. Brake is - Green & Yellow w/ Red Stripe. Right turn ran to passenger side - Gray & Red w/ Red Stripe. I tried to illustrate this with modern invention of electronic photo editing. RED NECK STYLE, Enjoy! This is US model could be completely opposite in Europe.
  12. Open rear hatch. Look on left side. There is a plastic access panel between the door and the fender well. All the wiring is visible there. I used (interior) spare tire mounting bracket for a ground.
  13. -bounce- -bounce- -bounce- Welcome Aboard! My wife is from Houma! Me and the Pathy are over there at least every other month. Do you go off-road much? Add your mug to the map so Louisiana won't look so empty. http://www.frappr.com/npora
  14. 2 reflective + 1 white for the kids Powerwheel -bounce-
  15. Very nice! What was the total cost of Materials?
  16. 88 should be ashamed for making Haynes Manual so useless. I'm going to put it on top of the phone book that raises the monitor. Good write-up!
  17. Gotta pretty good diagram on pg. 9-16 Haynes repair manual. It is bolted to the "cross shift shaft". It doesn't say if it can be reached from inside the cab. I will scan and e-mail you a PDF from work tommorow. If anyone has the book and access to scanner at home they are welcom to beat me to it.
  18. Perhaps good place for switches for O/H lights or x-tra cigerette lighter outlet. Make sure they are on the driver side so you can easily slap naughty passengers who want to push your buttons.
  19. 31X11.5-15 kumho's mud grips at Tirerack.com to me seemed to be the most value for the buck when I was looking. I ended up with B/F muds simply because I happened upon some money at the time I was ready to buy. I got them at Sams Club, they have to order them, but don't charge x-tra and installed for cheap. The best advice I ever got was from SW.
  20. I'm in for two whites. How will payment and delivery work?
  21. I thought this one had evolved somewhat. any interested in following the story see link below. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?act=ST&f=27&t=8024
  22. Quick question for veteran member.... I've got the Pathy home and started stripping the interior. Have taken photo's of work done so far. What is proper etiquette for sharing photo's? Do I add to this post, or create a new post in pictures and video?
  23. Luckily tires were straight. have it on trailer at friends house now. not centered great for ride home, but have jack with rollers. should be easy to lift front and drag center, repeat for rear. Again quick response and accurate information helps a lot. Cudos Flapathy
  24. Thankyou. good information. I think I can do that.
