  1. Have you taken off the gas tank yet? I pulled the gas tank skid off the '92 today. Every bolthead broke off. They had a lot of rust on em. If you haven't taken it off yet; you might want to try a couple of bolts to see how manageable they are. It could be better to stitch weld the replacement tank back. Hope it works out for you.
  2. why would you hit your finger with a hammer? Use the tool properly as it was designed and it won't cause damage or pain. don't get mad I'm the biggest hypocrite on NPORA. I use one out of 20 tools properly.
  3. Yo navygz19, I still got 2 used wheels. If you only have the sport stripes (2 skinny lines) the wheels have enough meat to get the job done. PM me a mailing address and I mail them to you free. I have no stripes on any cars so really have no use for them any more.
  4. Dust, Mud, Mosquitos, Projectiles. Doors are your friend off and on the road. Perhaps at the beach might be a good place to go doorless. What conditions do you see favorable for riding with no doors?
  5. Pinstripe Removal Go to the closest Auto window tint shop and ask them to sell you one. Don't pay more than $15 bucks for two of them.
  6. Hey k9sar I have your street address from the ECU you got me. Good thing your a fast shipper. A disgruntled shopper might post where to pick up a free skid plate! Can't wait for the pics. PS I may be headed to Philly for 2 weeks late June or Early July.
  7. My neighbor is a Mechanic at the Yota dealer. He has a shop in his b/yard he moonlights in. He did my water pump and timing belt for $420 or $440. I can't remember exactly. So if you factor in real estate and insurance the dealer is not ripping you too bad.
  8. Filthy Luker that the first successful Nissan/Delorian conversion ever. Back To The Future! Nice Pic Vsicks Pathy
  9. The eraser took me about 2 to 3 hours!
  10. How'd I do that? Company policy prohibits the unauthorized use of the internet. I usually don't preview post at work afraid if I spend too much time I will get busted. Anyway this is Jay's post, lets talk about roof lights. Lightem' if you gotem'
  11. Using the relay diagram I ran main power from battery thru floor on passenger side. Drilled hole for access to cab. Painted hole with primer and sealed with Marine goop. Placed relay in center console w/ e-brake. placed switch on center console on driver side of e-brake. (keeps pesty passengers from pressing your buttons) Continued main wiring up driver side behind door. Being a 2dr the 4x4 emblem pops out and you can get wire out of cab thru this access. Ground from lights followed same route as main power. Grounded at mounting bolt for driver seat. Power for the switch to relay was ran under driver side carpet to fuse box. I simply wedged the end of wire in with the fuse for the wipers. (probably not professional but very effective) Lights will only function when ignition is on. However there is nothing to keep me from looking like a dork. I do that quite naturally. roof lights Removing the front seat will save a lot time.
  12. So Grumpy, what was the end result. Did the work get done? Did you get a better price. Just being nosey.
  13. Pinstripe remover The one I have will work on a drill, it was purchased from an Auto Detailer shop. They are not shelf items, but any locally owned shops will probably sell too you. I not sure if the ones on the linke are interchangeable from air tools.
  14. I'd do anything to show up my sister!
  15. Mine was just muffler and tailpipe, less than $200. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...=0entry113144 You might want to call for estimates instead of in person. The sight of young college student asking for estimates in person may automatically inflate the price. I would be interested to know if the same price would be quoted to an older person.
  16. I can take the starter back out and confirm it works by hot-wiring while not installed. But I can drag the Pathy in Neutral wheels roll fine. Put in gear the wheels lock. I took this to mean engine is seized. I put in 4hi the first time but was actually in neutral. Got tired of screwing with it and just dropped in 4lo and 4th gear. Figured if shifter was all the way down I wouldn't mistake 4hi for neutral. Didn't get home til after dark today, so I will try again a couple more times. remove oil pan like k9sar suggested. also try to drag in 4hi to break free.
  17. Yeah. that's the one everybody warned me about. I thought if I got past the wiring problems everything else would fall in place. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=8024&hl=
  18. I'm pretty sure I'm in over my head. Engine is seized. Tried pulling, just drug the back wheels. Put in 4lo and 4th gear. Drug all four wheels. Was not expecting it to be seized. I have had diesel sitting in for a week. must now consider parting her out. I will drink a bottle of merlot and grill a ribeye while I sulk and mull it over. The income tax check came in and the boss wants her bathroom remodeled. I will keep ears open for suggestions. I've heard of pulling motor and using heat and hammer to persuade. I don't have room, tools or time to do right. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=8024&hl= If I get to parting it out I will post new thread. -alcohol- in that order. anybody got any cheese?
  19. Oh well starter won't turn! I hear the solenoid click, but no turn. gave a couple taps, no different. i'm afraid to tap while juice is on. The valve covers and air intake are off and engine full of diesel. I will get key made and drag in gear to make sure all water is out.
  20. 2 sizes as in longer length or larger diameter? The new liner is about .375", a lot thicker than the old. The plastic plugs weren't long enough to engage. I agree it would look better, it they make them longer I will look into it. As far as looks you practically have to remove the tire to see them.
  21. I figured it would stripped and left on side of road by now.
  22. Nice UCA'S. Actually you were my inspiration from a post probably a year ago. Went to the J/Y and starting cutting the mud flaps off an RV. This vagrant looking guy comes out cussing that i'm tearing up his house. I guess they let him live there to watch the place at night. He was pretty scary. Never went back and started looking for another way.
  23. A buddy talked me into buying a pathy. My first 4x4 ever. Got stuck 20' from the road on my first trail. Same buddy convinced me I needed the tallest tires that would fit. That internet search brought me here! Never been member of any other kind of forums. Never chatted. All the answers are right here!
  24. weighed suggestions and updated page Take 2
  25. When I drained oil about a quart of water came out with it. no rust thankfully. I can use air and wd40 on the top. this will not do anything with water in the bottom (or will it?). Maybe draining oil pan and changing oil filter enough I don't know. I am in it over my head, but can see the surface barely.
