  1. The problem is the seller is in the Navy. He and the Key are out to sea, but eventually I should get the key. I'm not familiar with the Pitman arm. I will do some search functions and post more question If I can't find anything Thanks
  2. hoping that the sexually confused have left the forum...I'm going to repost the question b/c I want to keep it active and need some quick imput. thanks for your patience. Hey Guys, I bought JonesyUSN's pathy and will go to the Navy base in AM to pick it up. The only problem is I have no key. If the wheels are not straight any hint how to unlock steering to get on trailer? pretty sure flathead screwdriver in ignition and hard turn will work. I was hoping someone would have a cleaner solution. Any help always appreciated.

  4. 6,000.00 CAD Canada Dollars = 5,207.46 USD United States Dollars Pasted from on-line conversion. I don't think your price is unreasonable. Gas prices and mileage to folks outside this forum may prevent them from seeing the true value. My pathfinder is a third vehicle and we only carry minimum liability. It only cost me 45 US dollars a month to insure. Sorry to see you let her go. You will be missed.
  5. Guys I'm trying to buy a '92 Pathy that was flooded in Katrina. I want it for the rims and bumper. Talking to the owner, It flooded the ECU but not the air in-take. Before I started robbing parts I feel like I should at least try to see if she will run. The Junkyard by my house has a '92 with an ECU. How difficult would it be for a novice to make this swap or should I just plan on getting it for parts. My plans are to drain, flush, replace fluids, turn motor and flush with Varsol. If no rust in cylinders, and before trying to swap ECU spray all electrical components with LPS contact cleaner see what happens. If no action and can successfully figure out how to replace ECU, again see what happens after ecu replacement. If nothing happens still, rob truck for parts, see if Junkyard will buy engine and transmission.
  6. Make sure it's same color as interior lights or matches interior. I installed one (generic LED switch) on the center console but did not have the foresight to match colors. It's kind of tacky and I really need to change it.
  7. I'm interested in the Pathy. But would need some input from some more experiences folks. I've been looking for some A/T'S to commute to work in. Save the muds for mud. Can anyone tell me how compatible the '92 parts are with '87? For the moment I need need front left signal cover. & Master cylinder (brakes). JonesyUSN's avatar has a nice front bumper. Do not know if included in sale price? Any advice would be appreciated.
  8. I'm scared to ask but...Have you seen Return of the Jedi that many times or was research required. Don't get me wrong, great saga. I'm still sweating. It's a little late, a buddy of mine has a battery operated reciprocating saw (saws-all). it's pretty tough. Anyone know if that could cut a railroad tie with a large brush blade? I might get one for the tool box. again great story!
  9. Cohen, '87 is my first 4x4 ever. I love it. The first time off-road got stuck just a little ways from the road. got some muds and haven't been stuck since. hit this site daily and ask a lot of questions. If you have 1100$ for sound, your gonna make some folks jealous because there are a lot of mods that can be done to a Pathy for the same amount. Welcome
  10. 1st quarter of Iron bowl. We'd like to have Alexander back right now. sheez 14zip is ugly. Hang in there Tide
  11. Mr. Pickles, BL does seem to be the most available. When I turned legal I drank Coors and Coors only. (Smokey and the Bandit probably the only reason). Being around different people somewhere down the line switched to Bud Lite. Years later I no longer like Coors. In short it's available and the taste grows on you. Besides they sponsored the ECHL Kingfish. The only hockey Baton Rouge, LA has ever seen. They bring culture to the South.
  12. Gettin in late Community Coffee & water for non-alky time (7-5) 5pm on, Bud lite beer b/c I don't shop & that's all wife buys. Samuel Adams favorite but rarely drink it. Heradura Aneje with squeeze of lime favorite hard stuff. Penefolds Cabernet/Shiraz blend favorite wine. I find that staying with one and not mixing it up is easier on you in the morning.
  13. Man it took a while to get it done. Lights now work To give you idea how inexperienced I am at electrical, tried to solder the wiring to the relay. dumb! I know now. Finally learned they make clips that slide and lock right on. If had to do it again could probably completely wire in 2 hours instead of the six hour learning curve. installed the switch on the console just to the left (driver side) of the e-brake. It has a green led light illuminates when on. (orange would have matched the interior lighting). powered the switch from the fusebox (wiper fuse). Lights will only work when ignition is on. grounded to the bolt securing the driver seat. The lights from the junkyard still worked. They will be replaced as they have caught a few projectiles in their lifetime. Again thanks for all the help and accurate information. especially the diagram from Hardwaretoad. you rock
  14. Hey guys, I used 3M Marine Goop to adhere the original 4x4 emblems. will let you know if any problems. To remove emblems used a long razor knife and cut the adhesive. Tried first to use flat screw driver but emblem began chipping. I have the emblems that came with the light. they are dark grey with black raised letters. Free to anyone that wants them as long as postage doesn't exceed $5 US+/-. PM me with mailing address if interested.
  15. Thanks for all the helpful instruction. will go to parts store today. I feel confident that I can follow the diagram with one exception. What is the Ignition Power Source? Is that just a matter of finding a wire that is hot only when the ignition is on? (i.e. radio, wipers, power source) In general please explain the function of a relay. What does it do. Vsicks I've read the "It begins" thread. Your relays are installed behind the glove box look impressive.
  16. Thanks, I will take it as far as I can & let you know. The wife went to her mom's this w/end. I was supposed to finish our remodel job in the house while she was gone. I told her I had to work today. You got to admit Playing with Pathy kicks home improvements A$$ every time. I still have tommorow to pretend like I tried. Yea tire is flat, and the lights don't work but she looks good! While I'm here I'll tell funny story. Told wife I need to spend 400$ for shocks & UCA's to lift front 3 inches. She's says "your crazy, 400$ for 3 inches I don't think so". I told her come on baby good price, That's only $133 an inch what would you pay? Needless to say I'm sleeping alone tonight. got beer?
  17. Sorry, forgot important details. Got them off an 88 2dr in the junkyard. Tried to save all the wiring, but when cutting the carpet to get to the switch, oops slice . Installed the hardware on an 87 2dr. My theory is to run a power source from either the battery or box under passenger seat to a switch and a fuse. then run wire from switch and splice into lights. Planning to go to Advanced Auto tommorow and by a generic on/off switch
  18. hey guys, installed running boards, lightbar, & luggage rack today. thought I would share. guess what the next project is? Hook up the lights. Can anyone explain to a dummy how to wire it yourself :help: ? I'm not kidding about the dummy part, I have never wired any but a radio. Currently I have 2 wires from each light coming in behind the 4x4 sticker. I want to put the switch on the center console so it will be close to a power source under the passenger seat. Just for starters is that a good location.
  19. I had mine re-built for $75. The only problem was it took a week. An extra 25$ may have been worth it. No hills to park on in Louisiana. I do have a question that is on a similar thought. I did not know at the time that every oil filter change was covering the starter with oil. Would a parts store honor the warranty if it's covered with oil? Or cry abuse ? I don't have good luck with warranties.
  20. Painted them when I got home from work today. Saturday's project. P.S. Jfilmer your driver side mirror will be in the mail tommorrow.
  21. I live in the woods and a lot of trucks around here have heavy duty homemade bumpers. I didn't see any in the member photos. Are there any unwritten rules about do it yourself bumpers? Many members have their rides fixed up nicely. I could see how one wouldn't want to detract from the good looks. But on a truck just for the trails I don't see the bad side.
  22. Yea, got lights, running board, & small luggage rack for 100$. I'm affraid i'll loose my emblems if I use silicon, but they need to be removable for repairs & whatnot on the lights.
  23. Hey guys I got some factory roof lights off a Pathy in the junkyard. I want to keep my (87' 2door) 4x4 emblems when I do the install. Is there a recommended adhesive when putting them back? I would also like to use the same adhesive on my hood vents as well. Thanks for any help.
  24. Thanks Pezzy. I was a little worried about that size thing. My daughter just got a 70cc atv and wanted to play tug of war. wanted to share. It's pretty fuzzy so I will probably swap it out after while.
