  1. Can you edit the title of your post? I'm going to want to find this again but the search function might have trouble finding it. BTW, looks like your on to something good!
  2. Jack Link This is what I have, it has plenty of lift capacity and works fine. My biggest gripe is the total lift is not much. Constantly being placing on blocks to get enough lift. It was not much help when changing out coil springs. However it is cheap and can quickly get a tire off the ground.
  3. My '87 had a quirky passenger door lock when I bought it. If you would lock it from the inside, you could only unlock it from the inside. If you locked it from the outside you could only unlock it from the outside. Weird. One day I got mad and locked the and unlocked from the inside as hard as i could about 20 times. It has worked right ever since. I know this doesn't answer your question, but the experience was similar. Perhaps some forceful persuasion can get it to free up.
  4. Great job, and write up as well. How visible is it from the driver seat? Is it a distraction or just a mod that has to be gotten used to?
  5. Previous thread on Timing Belts My water pump/timing belt was $420. A backyard mechanic did it for me. Dealer might be little more. He's got to cover his real estate and insurance.
  6. My only gripe is I wish you could search all forums with the exception of Off-Topic. I find a lot of my searches will find 2 or 3 topics relative to my search, but about 30 off-topic political debates. Oh well, when searching you get out of it what you put into it. I'm happy
  7. Welcome! All these new guys and the sweet deals they get on the purchase. pssd You'll soon find it's the best $1800 you ever spent.
  8. I think I've got similar symtoms. However breaking does nothing to stop the noise. The wheel bearings have never seen grease in the 18k that I've owned her. Isn't there a how to on this board for that? How often should this be done?
  9. Rear bucket seat would be a cool idea. 1 rear bucket seat would be unique. (3-seater) Don't know how often you get back seat passengers, but no back seats make for boocoo cargo room. You could put three 12's back there. Mount them on a custom rail. If you need the room, roll em out. You said ideas.
  10. Parting out a '92 and trying to salvage the bottom exterior window mouldings. Driver side windows are busted. no problem removing those. The passenger side window are up. that is the sitchiation. (I type with an accent) . How would one remove electric windows without the ability to roll them down? Would I be better off just and getting it over with. Any advice appreciated. Pithy comments encouraged. Thanks Guys
  11. Looks good. I want to do the Tbar adjustment. Have u installed aftermarket UCA's? That's my hold up.
  12. Yea that kit. I was curious what all was in there, the complete inventory.
  13. Don't know how tight your cash is, I got both fenders, front and rear bumper I can get to Mn for $100 shipping included. Fenders are blue. '92 parts Wish I only paid $500 for mine.
  14. Spark plug tool Hey guys I sold a item to a fellow member claiming it was a spark plug removal tool. above is a link to the page with the photograph. It has the rubber inserts and head fits the plugs snuggly. (3rd picture from the top) It also looks very much like the Jack Accessories. Luckily no $$$ exchanged yet. Please correct me if I did not advertise correctly.
  15. Why do they not show pics from the front? Have you got them to send you any? When I bought mine the inspection was expired. Got dealer to get new inspection sticker prior to purchase, that way I new I was good for 1yr at least? :contract: Get pics of front end, somebodys hiding something.
  16. Welcome aboard. There GPS is a good thing too for optional routes in an evacuation. Got us out of Katrina pretty quick.
  17. :X At least you didn't schedule your Disney trip 1st week in June like me. :Magic: Guess where I'll be? Oh well enough of that, back to routing wires!
  18. It's hard to fix frame rust. But look at how long you've been riding for free. Good maintenance will save you big bucks in the long run. If your changing fluids regular as it appears that will do a lot over the long haul.
  19. I ran mine from the battery strait to the firewall then down. there are a couple of hooks you can use for guides. Remove the passenger seat. Drill hole for access to cab and paint w/ primer. Once wire is brought in cab seal penetration with marine goop. I forgot to look at what year your rig is before posting. Mine is an '87. Roof lights Oh yeah, RELAYS RELAYS RELAYS, use them.
  20. 87 turn signal wiring Mines a good bit older than yours. '87 I do not know if it is the same for 93. A while back you were talking about bending you 4wd shifter. Was that you or am i confused w/ someone else. How did it turn out? Got pics?
  21. Take some pics to add with what unccPathfinder said. I want to try it, but still short on courage.
  22. I take it you own a cutting torch and a welding maching no?
  23. My bad! my comment was based on welding a replacement gas tank to the existing mounting bracket. I would never weld on the tank itself. Please be safe.
  24. The mounting flanges on the side of the tank are pretty wide. You should be able to weld a few beads w/out transfering a lot of heat to the tank. (weld with cap off of tank and wet rag or running water on tank near weld.)
