  1. Came across this item a while back after a friend and fellow R50 owner had this installed. He raved about the noticeable difference in terms of improved body rigidity and torsional stiffness. I called Jackson Autosport and asked if they had extra. Went and picked one up last week ($40CAD+tax), and installed it myself in about 10 minutes. The added stiffness and improved rigidity were noticeable immediately. Going over bumpy roads, the truck felt stiffer and more controlled. On my commute to work, I spend about 15 minutes on a pretty nasty stretch of neglected highway, rife with potholes, bumps and warped surface. I was sold the minute I drove my rig on it for the first time after installing this. Needless to say, it's been the best $40 I've spent on my R50. Here are some pics of the install: Where the bolts are removed is where this stress bar mounts up (penetrating fluid may be required). Mounted up and ready for action. I torqued the bolts, took it for a quick spin and retorqued again. I'd like to know how this will fare on the trails; I have some work to do on the Pathy before I can find out. From the look of things, this bar should work with a SFD but maybe not with a mid-skid installed. Only time will tell... If anyone's interested, check out the website: Jackson Autosport (click on the Nissan link to the right) It's $40 well-spent.
  2. Yes, he does. He goes on to explain it requires the backing plates to be switched in order to do it. Not sure how the e-brake works, though.
  3. I think the main issue here is for covering wider tires for those with SFD's or planned SFD's. These would help to avoid getting pulled over by cops...
  4. If you were to leave the pigtails on, would it equal to about 5" of lift?
  5. I've been looking forever to find wider flares for R50. These look pretty promising.
  6. But you're going to have 2" AC coils up front (plus 4" SFD)? Wouldn't that mean you need 6" coils for the rear? I'll still need custom coils from coilsprings.com because I plan on running OME HD coils in the front on top of the SFD, for ~5.5" total lift.
  7. You'll want the ones specifically for the Pathfinder. The spline count makes any other type impossible to use.
  8. You're selling it?! But why? You've done so much to it...
  9. Found a universal calibration chip, and it's easy to install. SpeedoDRD kit Only ~$80!
  10. Hopefully OME HD (#928) coils will get the job done. I don't know easy it is to source Trooper parts... BTW, are you still planning on designing rear coils?
  11. Your best bet will be custom. Get a few quotes from local exhaust shops and see what can be done. Magnaflow offers universal parts so maybe that could be integrated into some custom work. The only performance exhaust I've come across for the VG33E-equipped R50 is the Fujitsubo Legalis4 catback system, which is only available in JP, IIRC.
  12. BAM! That is correct. I have a 265/70R15 as my spare and it fits just fine.
  13. Looks great! Looks like the OME coils work just fine!!
  14. Are you designing rear coils? I'd be interested in a set if so. How about any plans for front coils?
  15. I'd go with the OME coils for sure. As for struts, go with KYB GR-2 and OEM mounts/bearings. Best bang for your buck and best durability. For shocks, I'd recommend Bilstein 5150. I am not a fan of Rancho and, quite frankly, Bilstein makes way better products.
  16. Those are going to be a whole lot of fun on the pavement... Depending on how you wheel, go with a less aggressive M/T. Or just go with a reasonable A/T. You'll be glad you did.
  17. Bump... Anyone? How much do the coils differ front to back?
  18. How significantly do the front and rear coils differ? I'm wondering if a retrofit is possible...
  19. No way man. This would be the first time. And besides, you're the one rockin' 33's...
  20. Not sure what can be done. I heard of a recalibration kit you hook up to the gauge cluster... Never actually heard if it was true, though.
  21. Does that mean these will sag with ample weight up front?
  22. Well... Maybe in the works... NX4 strut tower brace I'd so buy one, though.
