  1. For stock R50s the hubs are always locked, in 2WD or 4WD. In 2WD, though, no power is actually being sent to the wheels, yet the hardware remains in motion as it is connected to the wheels. Manual hubs eliminate that motion, therefore eliminating unnecessary wear.
  2. Well, once that comes to fruition I'd say it'd be pretty reasonable. Until then, not so sure... I really want to see what this JET V-Force Plus module can do...
  3. I run 265/75R16 and have done zero trimming. There's only rubbing at full lock, and only in reverse for some reason.
  4. Oh, absolutely. I couldn't agree more on that. I guess I should have clarified what I mean was from a visual standpoint more than anything the difference would be negligible.
  5. ECU reprogramming is always a good route. Keep us posted on this should you decide to go through with it.
  6. That might depend on the backspacing/offset of the OEM 17" wheels, though.
  7. I'm sure it'll be worthwhile. Ask JEGS what kind of feedback they've received, if any. See if there's a money-back guarantee, too.
  8. You could also look into an air-fuel controller like the Apex'i SAFCII but I think the V-Force Plus offers more in terms of features.
  9. What JET makes isn't a chip. It's a piggy back module that monitors and modifies parameters set out by the ECU based on how the vehicle is being driven. As for Superchips, they don't make a chip for the VG33E.
  10. I took my rear sway bar off and it handles the same. I've never taken the front off but I'm happy with how my truck handles. If ain't broke, don't fix it... But like the others posted, try it out and see how it changes. Then you'll know.
  11. I wouldn't consider 0.75" as noticeable... But thanks for the clarification.
  12. There is a plethora of mods out there for VQ35DE. Turbines, superchargers, cams, you name it... Considering the Z33 and V35 use this motor, pretty much every big aftermarket manufacturer makes parts. Check out HKS, Trust (Greddy), Apex, Nismo... Just to name a few. It should be easy to find pretty much anything.
  13. Oh, an RX-7 man. Good show! Yup, the idea of a VG34ET is pretty fantastic. I wouldn't mind sourcing a low-mileage VG33ER and experimenting...
  14. I'm going to venture a guess and say they are the same length.
  15. That snorkel is pretty much one giant POS. Ask GPG... It's a waste of money.
  16. I do like that but nothing beats the sound of turbo spool followed by a blow-off valve. I'm all for forced induction. The person who said, "there's no replacement for displacement" clearly never thought of throwing a turbine in to the mix...
  17. Is the difference between 265/75R16 and 265/70R16 all that noticeable?
  18. A turbo is always a good way to get significant additional power. On the R50 that'd be a lot of work, though. A modded VQ35DE would be pretty rad. HKS supercharger, anyone? For the VQ40DE, what about the transmission? Is this crank similar to the VQ35DE? Even for us early model R50 owners with the VG33E, we'd have to swap in a different transmission, no?
  19. My old boss was running Cooper Discoverer ATRs on his H2 and he just loved them.
