  1. Anyone know the part # of the lower headlight switch in this pic? For the life of me, I can't figure out what it is.
  2. Rear spacers are one more thing to worry about if you ask me.
  3. A TD27 alone might not be all that powerful but you'll get more torque than the VG33E. With a few simple bolt-on mods (turbo, intercooler, exhaust, etc.) and a chip tune you could get some pretty wicked power out of the 2.7L. The QD32ETI was the turbo diesel engine available in the '98- R50 Terrano and Terrano Regulus. It'd be virtually a direct drop in if you had all the supporting hardware. I'm not sure about the transmission and if it's reprogrammed differently, though. I've been trying to source a complete engine with transmission but it's proving to be neither easy nor cheap. As for the Isuzu option, all I know is it's a 3.0L inline-4 turbo diesel, similar to the ZD30DDTi engine found in the '99-'04 R50 Terrano. That's all I know at the moment. Sorry.
  4. Could be bushings. Then again, could be coils, too. Might be time to replace them. Nice rig, BTW! Start a Members' Rides thread!
  5. I think the best option would be the JDM equivalent motor for a '98 R50, either the TD27 or the QD32ETI. I know Isuzu makes full turbo diesel swap kits for our type of vehicle; I'm just not sure where to find out more information. What I do know is it's a 3.0L inline-4 direct injection engine.
  6. If you mean what I think you do, the answer is no. I have my Black Panther front skid installed and it doesn't even come close to interfering with the Missing Link. The mid-skid, on the other hand, may pose a challenge but that's just me speculating.
  7. The D22 Navara/Frontier/Xterra snorkel from Safari does work and requires slight modification to make it look pretty much perfect. Dan (vengeful) had it on his R50 and it looked sweet.
  8. I hate to sound like a broken record but it's money well-spent. It seems to complete the R50 (at least from a rigidity standpoint).
  9. Do start a thread in Members' Rides section. I'd like to see your rig.
  10. Lucky guy! I can't wait until JDM R50's are legal in Canada. Only a few more years!
  11. It's the same deal for RHD. In fact subframe drop fabrication began in Japan, a company called MuddJayson.
  12. No, he should listen to me because unsnapping your air box and going through paddles is going to lead to disaster. How's a snorkel hick? I don't get your logic, bud.
  13. Yeah, snorkels must be pretty gay. I suppose ARB must epitomize homosexuality in your eyes with all their "gay" builds. Have fun hydro-locking your truck.
  14. Easily my favourite picture of my R50. Taken a year ago but rig still looks the same: AR767 wheels, 16x8 with 3.75" backspacing.
  15. Time to get on the ol' rotary phone... One would hope so at my age. If not, I think I have some real problems.
  16. Looks good, Andrew! Cali lean is awesome but it'll look epic once the rear is lifted to match. Just wondering about your steering. Did you take pics of the whole install? I want to know more about rotating the rack and seeing what you did.
  17. How did you go about ordering these? I can't figure it out.
  18. Fail. A diesel should cost less to bring over, seeing how much better it is environmentally. I think it's moreso the lack of demand but that shouldn't matter. PW:JDM and JEI both sound like lazy @!*%es to me. I know someone who leaves for Japan on the 26th. He goes twice a year (usually spring then fall) and gathers parts he ships back here in a sea container. Quite a sweet gig and he gets free trips to Japan... Lucky bastage. But I digress. Maybe I can see what he'll charge for a QD, or even a ZD. It'd be nice to get all the hardware, too.
  19. If it is, just remove it. I don't imagine much would accumulate, though.
  20. Sounds like bull to me... Did they give you a reason?
  21. The baseball stuff is actually pretty sweet. Good for an all-over theme.
  22. I think you're right, the waffle-box on the right (left-hand side of the vehicle) is probably part of the intake. It could very well be something else, I'm not sure. My guess is the ECU's are programmed differently between the two engine variations. If I do end up going this route, I'd probably import an entire vehicle and part out the stuff I need. Piecing it together would be time-consuming.
