  1. LawDawg: try installing the wheels/tires on with the lift kit installed and see if they clear the struts. 4x4parts.com recommends 3.75" backspacing but that could be speculative. The guy who bought my lift kit has wheels with 4" backspacing and everything mounted up just fine, 31" tires clear the struts. Failing that, wheel spacers are an option.
  2. Very nice. The Territory is quite an impressive tire from what I've read and based on the testimony of a friend who put these on his '98 LE. As for the rubbing, I'm sure it's minimal and a little heat should do the trick.
  3. There is a member from Ukraine doing this very swap on his pre-facelift R50. Here's the link to his build thread: Danyur's VG to VQ swap As previously stated, anything is possible with the right amount of time, money and dedication. Your best bet would be to source a R50 VQ motor because it was built for the R50 engine bay, which may differ slightly from other platforms (Z33, V35, FX35, etc.). Honestly, I'd say you'd be better off to go with a turbo diesel swap, or sticking with the VG33E and doing a supercharger upgrade. You could then go with custom exhaust, JWT S1 cams, intake, ECU flash, etc. The choice is yours but research your options and go from there.
  4. True story. Happened to a friend of a friend of mine.
  5. The manager of the store in question should do himself a favour and quit his job. Or his boss should fire his dumb ass.
  6. From what I can tell, the coils all provide the same amount of lift. The determining factor is what you have equipped on your rig (winch, bumper, etc.) when it comes to how the coils settle.
  7. I had one installed on either strut. My camber was fine for the entire duration and my tires wore pretty much perfectly.
  8. Boss! Nice Yota. And you still have your Pathy so I see no treachery at all.
  9. For the record, I think Keelhaul has the best winch set-up on a stock bumper. Looks badass, too.
  10. This. And this. And this. Looks more for show than anything functional. Or maybe winch transport at best...
  11. That's the whole point in having this forum. So Andrew, were you able to fit it up there?
  12. If you go OEM, this rust problem with keep coming back. Your best bet would be to go with something aftermarket (i.e., stainless steel) which is resistant to corrosion. Salt really does a number on these trucks. Living in the salt belt sucks...
  13. That tent on Northernpathy's rig is sick. Is that the ARB one?
  14. Just jokes... Welcome to the forum. Definitely check out 4x4parts.com for lift kits.
  15. And those gave you the lift to match the SFD, right? Are you just running stock coils up front?
  16. Wicked awesome van. Cool but I still can't help but laugh...
  17. Welcome aboard! Post some pics of your ride.
  18. Igetstabby: Exhaust looks good! Did you do that yourself? Based on what I've read in this thread, I'm guessing the diameter would vary between the VG and VQ...? I'm curious because I'd like to do custom exhaust in the near future, and something that'll sound mean and provide some gains would be ideal.
  19. Calm down, Mr. Zanette!!! Well, OEM coils suck, that's a fact. The only option is lift coils... Or custom coils. WOT, contact Kevin coilsprings.com, he's done a few orders for members on here for SFD projects. He could probably design stock-height coils with a higher spring rate to keep your rear end from sagging/topping out.
  20. Rather than install new coils, why not just get a new set of bump stops...?
