  1. Exactly. For 2" lift coils, you might want consider higher quality bushings. But the OEM links will do just fine.
  2. 3.75" maximum backspacing. 3.625" is lower than that so you're fine. Check out the pinned topics section. You'll find all the info you'll ever need there.
  3. I'm currently running the OME suspension lift with 265/75R16 tires (approx 32") and there are minimal clearance issues up front (rubbing at full lock in reverse). I've got a set of 1" spacers that'll hopefully help free up some space. Yup, the pinned topics section has pretty much every answer you'll ever need in regards to basic mods for your R50.
  4. Yes, I'm pretty sure. But the '05-up Xterra no longer uses a VG engine. It now has the VQ40DE...
  5. In that case, you'd be wise to look into an intake and exhaust. To be honest, the R50 handles itself quite well in the mud and on the trails. And you'd be surprised how much good tires change a vehicle. Probably the most important mod. Suspension is big too, especially for additional clearance and improved handling. From my experience, the key mods on my R50 were in this order: suspension (OME lift coils, KYB struts w/ Nissan mounts and Bilstein rear shocks), tires (Toyo A/T 26575R16), intake (picked up a HKS Super Hybrid air filter which works better than any paper or oiled filter, IMO), spark plugs/wires (went NGK Iridium IX w/ 8mm wires). The rest is armour and creature comforts more than anything... My R50 might be pushing at best 160HP but it still keeps up with the big dogs on the trails and in the mud. And that works just fine for me... But don't let that deter you. I'm just saying for what it is, the R50 is pretty capable machine out of the box.
  6. For extra power and reasonable price, the VG33ER is the best way to go. Try to source a whole motor complete with ECU. Then you'll want to consider exhaust and a custom hood to clear the supercharger plenum.
  7. Pop charger and exhaust are two common mods to add some extra power. But you'll have no problem turning tires... Pretty much ever. A while back, one R50 had a 6" subframe drop running 37" mudders without an issue. Anything else, you'll be fine. Of course a turbo, chip upgrade, etc. will create considerably more power but that requires serious cash. What kind of truck are you hoping to have? More off-road capability? More get-up and go? Depending on how you want your Pathfinder to perform, certain mods may be better than others.
  8. That's a lot of money for pretty much anyone. Considering the hardware required, and the time and energy put into installing/fitting/modifying everything to work, and then running it to make sure it works as it should, it's a big investment in every way. Not saying it can't nor shouldn't be done. It's just a big undertaking. Unfortunately, there is little maintstream aftermarket support for the R50... Especially when it comes to performance parts for the VG33E. Ideal options would be either swapping in a different motor (which is pretty big $$) or going custom (even bigger $$). For swaps, you could look into the R50 JDM turbo diesel (three options: TD27, QD32ETI, ZD30DDTi) or the supercharged Xterra/Frontier engine (VG33ER). It essentially comes down to how much money you want to 'invest' in your rig.
  9. That's a pretty open-ended question. What kind of money are you willing to spend? A simple mod would be intake, i.e. cold air, pop charger, etc.
  10. And that's why those links are the tits.
  11. You're going to be spending a pretty hefty chunk of change to make a VG33E a VG33ETT. Not to mention finding the room to fit two turbines and all the piping.
  12. You want a 6x5.5 bolt pattern.
  13. So is this to be taken as you agree? Probably the best point made ever made regarding tires. Good call, Simon.
  14. Wondering what's the best length for rock sliders on the R50. I found a pait of 67" sliders... Would this length be the best? I could just go and measure for myself but I'm lazy... Also, I wonder if other R50 owners could contribute their feedback in regards to what sliders they have equipped. Thanks.
  15. Yup, I used a flathead screwdriver and rubber mallet. Worked like a charm.
  16. My plan is a combination of the last 3 paragraphs.
  17. 6x5.5" bolt pattern. You can put 31's on any size wheel you want. Minimum would be 15" but I wouldn't go any bigger than 17-18". You can fit 31" tires on stock if I'm not mistaken but lift coils are always a good way to clear up some space in the wells.
  18. Surely, you jest. Over-rated, not at all. Find me a better tire that wears as well and cleans as efficiently. Over-priced, maybe. But it depends on the buyer. It's called shopping around...
  19. Cheaper from JEGS direct. Not by much, though... JET V-Force Plus (JEGS direct)
  20. Meh, to each his own. The H/T is a pretty crappy tire. I'd recommend looking into the A/T depending on your needs, though.
  21. I had a hunch, considering how pretty much every manufacturer on the planet is listed... V-Force Plus for R50
  22. Which ones? If they're the A/T I can't help but ask why... If they're the H/T then I can understand. Those are garbage...
  23. Not gonna lie, they're pretty sexy tires. Seriously, though. The A/T from Toyo is a pretty impressive tire. However, the M/T is just superb! Great off-road capability, cleans well, considerably low road noise, wears very well compared to similar tires. To be honest, I've never driven on anything else with trucks so I guess I'm a little biased. I do like the BFG A/T, having driven a WD21 rollin' on them. Only one time but they seemed like pretty good tires.
  24. Found this site but it sounds a bit questionable... Performance Chips Direct
