  1. I believe Fluid should be checked when it is above 110F with the engine running and transmission in Neutral after running it in each gear for a few seconds.
  2. In 10K I get to do the 94's belt. If I run into the same thing I'll know that it is common.
  3. Screw that, good things come of mixing compatible components. the xterra tranny is an upgrade to a pathy. the 3.3 is also an upgrade. the older tx-10's with wider chains are good to hold on to as well. Wasn't made for it... PHHH! It was made and the car MFGR decided what it went in. You you can deicide what it goes in next. Just need to do homework thats all. Hell I got an import tranny that came of a 3.3 nissan and it came with an electronic t-case and my old tx-10 bolted right to it. The best of all that has come from mixing and matching is the VG34 and NISSAN mixed and matched that one first; VG33e, VG30DE rods, VG30e W-series heads, Q45 pistons, VG30et oil pump, Nisimo #2 cams... ^ Parts from 5 different engines, the King of mix and match right there and it came out to be an awesome little torque monster for BAJA racing.
  4. I fill welded the broken areas and re-cut it to fit a larger keys. I did all this on the vehicle. I think I had 1x0.125" grinding wheel on the dremel.
  5. http://npora.ipbhost...=1 this thread acrualluy has a link to the same nissan nut page.. .
  6. Hey man welcome to the forum. 5523Pathfinder is the other guy you were talking to today from here.

  7. I took it to the Infinit Of Tacoma show me and Derrick RTI parked it side by side. I flexed it out until the axle twisted the pan hard perch against the left shock. and it still had 3" more to compress.... I forgot my camera. And somehow my phone photos of the pathfinders did not save.
  8. They will fit but it is a lot of stress on the IFS. I believe they need to be 4" backspace too.
  9. finished my cross member. Now I just need to powder coat it and chop up the frame to install it.
  10. second device is ABS computer. the Shift boot liner... I had Derrick track one down for me a while back, there was only one left in the entire us inventory from nissan and it was nearly $100. I decided to cut up a rubber floor mat and use that instead.
  11. If you are going up a hill and you know you are in 3rd gear turning off OD will lock the torque converter in 3rd. this lowers the RPMs and reduces the heat/parasitic loss from spinning an unlocked converter. The reason it doesn't lock on its own is because it thinks its going to shift into OD soon and does not lock when shifting.
  12. I wanna say sombody did something with an r50 console but I can't remember. I'm looking foward to your results. EDIT; oh yeah pezzy has an r50 console. lol
  13. Hung out with David and Dennis. didn't really work on a pathy until the end of the night when we cut some pieces to build me a new cross member.
  14. the pullies are keyed, just don't mix left and right. Follow what you said above and you'll be fine.
  15. today I added turn signals to my $36 $42 bumper I also made some progress on some functional tail-light armor... the bars are 0.20" wall and have an insert welded inside each end. then they are bolted though the hinge pins of the tire carrier and I have reversed set on the left as shown.
  16. well really all he needed to do is call the guy and ask the backspacing. Bolt pattern, diameter and backspacing fitments are listed all over this site. So I felt quite justified in my earlier post.
  17. 250k my rockers were fine. I used clevite lifters from northern autoparts. Search here!!! you need ZDDP and a Break in procedure or your new lifters will become loud like the old ones...
  18. Well I currently don't have a cross member to bolt a skid to but If I had the 4x4 parts skid when I went wheeling I might still have a cross member. I hooked the cross member right were the upper corner of the 4x4 pars skid would be and peeled it right open. 4x4 parts skid has my vote.
  19. Every day I see things that make me loose faith in humanity. But it is good to see the good people (yourself) survive these in-humane acts. I hope your scrapes and bruises heal quickly, Hows the girl? Did she wind up ok after being drugged?
  20. pathfinders did not come with locking differentials. they were open (drive goes to the wheel of least resistance) and LSD. If your pathfinder is LSD (look for an orange sticker on the back of the axle) it may act locked if it has the wrong fluid or no fluid. It will also wear out the LSD. if you roll down the window can you hear the tires chirp when driving in tight circles? Try re-filling it with some API GL-5 75w90 or 80w90 and make sure it says LSD on the label.
  21. not the bone you asked for but I'll throw it anyway,I think my 89 xe was 20k new, no leather, no abs, no disc, power windows, A/C, premium wheels w/ 31's ... "sport package"
  22. I thought the cluster regulator steps down the existing voltage and the gauge is scaled to that. example; 14.4v would be 8v ,13.5 would be 7.5 etc... Or maybe it needs regulated power to display the current voltage. example; a Multi-meter may run off of 4 LR44 batteries(4.8v total) but it does not show 4.8v all the time, it shows whatever you attach the leads to. Regardless, we are talking about a problem the cluster, the regulator on the alty is fine or else his multi-meter would read wrong. I have not played with an 87 volt meter cluster, there may be a calibrator directly on it. once you carefully pop it open take some detailed pictures so we can shed some light on this.
  23. I think 90+ clusers got electronic regulators, and I do belive there is a thread on here somewhere that covers the replacement of said units. INCL. a radio shack part number if I'm not mistaken.
  24. Very nice, glad I didn't do that since mine is now Taco'd along with my FWD crossmember. Today I drove my truck and bumped into a few things to test the $36 bumper. Its springy like it needs better mounting. I guess having a ripped crosmember doesn't help the wimpy stock mounts stay rigid.
