  1. I had a dream last night. I dreamt I was a dove flying over the sea. And then I dove into the ocean... And I swam with the dolphins. I was two animals joined as one... ...which meant - good things are coming. Good things.
  2. Throw a doughnut from a Sentra up there. Instant Truck of the Month.
  3. Pathfinder's can't handle Vtec.... Their wings aren't big enough.
  4. Nope... Yep! It ended up coming on on it's own the next day when my wife took the truck to work. Kinda freaky, but hey, I'm easy to please. Whats a few more unaccounted miles? It would be nice if someone would do the math and figure out custom gears for bigger tires like the Jeep boys have. I think we're destined to settle with "close enough".
  5. For the record, Porsches are not as reliable as Pathfinders.

  6. You'll find mixed opinions about Calmini here. Apparently their work is a bit hit-'n-miss. Try Automotive Customizers. They're a little cheaper and not as flashy, but they tend to have a better rep. You'll find other options in the links that Kingman posted, but AC is the only real one-stop shop for our 21's.
  7. Hey, no sweat! Just another lesson I've learned with these monsters; Check your camber! If it's off a bit with normal tires, it's going to be exaggerated with wides ones. Mine rolls like a drift car... Which is great when you're swinging a corner, but sucks when it's time to rotate.
  8. I completely agree, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, asking around hasn't netted any decent results, so I'm looking for ideas on where to expand my search. I've tried the local welding shops, but their prices are nuts and I don't think any of these yokels can read a drawing or figure out what those little marks on a tape measure are for. I want a $h!tload of cheap metal for which to build parts out of.... and then I want a CNC lathe that can cut Inconel.
  9. Honestly, I just wanted a reason to post that banner.
  10. It's not. Try this instead: Disengaging ie: dis·en·gage (dsn-gj) v. dis·en·gaged, dis·en·gag·ing, dis·en·gag·es v.tr. 1. To release from something that holds fast, connects, or entangles. See Synonyms at extricate. 2. To release (oneself) from an engagement, pledge, or obligation. v.intr. To free or detach oneself; withdraw. Heil!
  11. Got the parts together to replace and repair the compression rod mounts and bushings. Bought sealant for the windshield. Would anyone be interested in a write-up/pics on sealing the front glass, or is that obvious and a waste of time?
  12. I've been considering something similar by attaching the lower plastic assembly and arm rest to a sheet of aluminum. No more stained upholstery no more soggy ripped paperboard. TerranoNZ replaced his will aluminum, but I can't find the pics now.
  13. The "Tactical" band wagon rolled five years ago. Now it's just sad. "I'm gonna open my tactical energy drink with my tactical pocket knife and set it on the tactical bumper of my tactical Pathfinder, 'cause I'm tactical like that." Give me a break. Even worse is naming a bumper company "TAG". I don't wanna think about playing tag with my truck, okthnxbye.
  14. Well, I'm looking at building a roof rack out of 1 - 1.5" dia round tube. It looks to be big, as I'm planning on throwing 28' ladders on top. I've been killed on flat stock here. I'd love to finish my rear bumper and start on a front, but when building something as small as this costs $40 in materials, I don't see how building is even an option. No, I'd rather stay away from my local welding shops. Most of them are just asinine about the whole deal. I was kinda hoping for some alternatives that I may be missing.
  15. The horns are Hella... I forget the model name. I've seen them on the web, but I got mine at a swap meet. They don't sound much different than stock. The rims a Intero, which isn't around anymore. I suppose I should measure the backspace, as folks often ask. To be honest, I don't have a clue. They're just an old set of Chevy rims that I picked up from a friend for $50. He needed the money, I liked the deep wheels.... I figured What The Hell. The tire does rub a bit on the driver's side under hard cornering, but I'm relatively certain that my frame is tweaked on that side. I've never had an issue with the passenger side. Here's my build: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=17404 She's not too pretty yet, but we're getting there.
  16. I love reading about the custom stuff that you guys build. There's been some very inspiring work showcased here in the few years that I've been lurking. I weld myself and I'm not too shabby at the design aspect if I do say so. My biggest drawback is sourcing materials. I don't really know anyone that's in to this sort of stuff here, so asking for suggestions on where to go has yielded bad results locally. Steel is expensive. More often than not, it's cheaper to buy manufactured than to try to buy the materials individually. I just don't see how you guys do it. So, I figure I'm missing something. Just not looking in the right places. Can anyone suggest places to try for deals? Maybe share your usual type of sources or things to keep an eye out for? I'd appreciate the help.
  17. You should be ok. I'm running 31x1250's at stock height. I'd keep your stockers for everyday driving though. Swampers wear really fast. I'm riding ProComp Mud Terrains, which have a bit better wear-rate then the Interco tires, but even they've worn-out fast under heavy road use. If you DD them, plan on replacements in less then two years.
  18. The gear came in today. Mounted to sensor and bolted to T-case in 5 minutes. No sweat. My gauge is working, but my odometer is still dead. My GPS says the meter is 3 MPH slow. I'm not sure which to trust, but either way is close enough I suppose.
  19. Per 95 FSM: Fuel Tank Gauge Unit: 3.8 - 8.5Ω Full 83.6 - 93.6Ω Empty
  20. I like knowing for sure that my hubs are locked. There's no guessing when you physically twist the dial to "Locked"... "Yep. It's locked." Getting out and skating around the front end of the truck on an icy KY road in peak-time traffic kinda sucks though. 'Course there is some satisfaction in leaving a group of angry, shouting sedan-drivers spinning in place while I cruise away in 4L.
  21. Good advice. Thanks. My cups are still there, but the hole is a mess. I'll have to find something that will fit inside the dish.... Or just grind them off. If money and time were no object, I'd buy a whole new bracket. $55 from Nissan.
  22. Damn. That's not what I wanted to hear. I'm gonna have to go ghetto on mine until the parts come in. I replaced the missing thrust washer with a flat one I had laying around; Now I'll just flip the worn bushings around, tighten the piss out of the nuts and hope she holds. I'll get to fixing the wallowed-out cups this weekend.... What a bummer.
  23. I'm very concerned about the state of my frame. I think my chassis is fuxord. :(

I have a welder, but you can't fix bent. :(

Sure you can. You just need another pathy with a winch.

LOL! How about another Pathy (preferably from AZ) and an engine hoist?

  24. So how can a problem this extreme be fixed? If the hole in the bracket is this bad, won't the new bushings wear out all the faster? I'm looking at replacing mine with ES bushings, but my bracket looks a lot like the picture above. It's kind of disheartening.
