  1. it's snowing hard now.. Yaaay! yeah do the parking lot thing.. that's what i do every first snow/freeze each year... ok, gotta go and play.. laterzzzzzz.
  2. you don't need to be driving around bloomington man. take the bus or just walk.. bike if you aren't afraid of the cold too much... can't wait.. midinght fun coming up.. and what simon said otherwise.. look out for the dumsh!ts
  3. valve covers back on? you can rent an engine hoist at a tool rental place for prob less then 50 a day. you can pull the cams out with the motor still in.. not sure about the crank.. maybe too. it probably depends if you remove the AC exchanger (rad)
  4. you don't need to mess with the heater core.. it's inside the cabin anyway.. maybe the hoses and such.. exhaust doesn't need to come out either.. just loosen the headers.. can't think of anything else right now..
  5. pezz rules? lol.. you crazy igloo dweller.. no idea if i got the e-mail.. haven't checked mine in a while..
  6. cool thank luv. might have to do that..
  7. way too keep us updated.
  8. parhaps you may find one at www.nissanpathfinders.com
  9. yeah, the ballencer has been a little bit of an issue here and there.. check the keyway and see it it's still there and if the ballancer is in the right position.. but you'd get a vibration from hell if that was the case.. i don't see it.. any fluid mixing? have you checked compression on the cylinders? backfire with the smoke? spun crank bearing could be one of the things.. it's almost impossible to tell from the vid.. can you shoot another one looking at the engine.. so we can have a better look/listen? try to do everything possible before you start disassembly of the motor.. did it feel loose in any way? one more q. how is the oil pressure?
  10. did you run it with the v covers off. it just sounds like the oil isn't getting to them.. actually it sounds like the fan/? is hitting something on the outside..
  11. i hear great things about the nato cans too.
  12. you sure that's internal? lifters? listen with a stethoscope or some tubing to narrow where the noise originates.. whatever it is it's pretty nasty, you weren't lying.
  13. yup, camshaft (cam) seals and the crank one too although never heard of anyone having problems with that.. it's still a good idea.... all new belts and i would say new hoses (t-stat) also.. you might as well do the plugs, dizzy, wires.. it will be practically new..
  14. to the gasoline inside the cab.. if you google around this or other pathy sites you'll find at least 3 or 4 solutions.
  15. totaly depends on the yard. call around or find the site that links you to junk yards or ever heard of e-bay?
  16. quest (or villager - cheaper since dom. but the same) is really the best option.. they have the same plug and all.. there are a couple of ways to affix them.. both are good but the other one (not 88's method) seems easier. haven't done that yet but it is in the plans. good luck
  17. lots of info in here..
  18. you can also use the search function that this and all forums posses. some topics have been discussed and discussed again..
  19. lay down under your truck and have someone bounce the front while you look for the source of the noise.
  20. you don't need a hole in it in those temps. anything below freezing, you should be ok unless you do a lot of stop and go.. burping the rad may solve this issue.. if you have coolant in the overflow it should have burped itself by now.. i hardly do it.. just as long as it's close, the truck will burp while the engine temps go up and down and coolant expands and contracts.. the other thing it could be is that the controls or valves themsleves froze .. i am pretty sure the vent switches are vacuum driven so there also could have been some frozes condensation in those lines..
  21. is the rear window defrost switch back lit also? mine doesn't seem to be. steeevo, i think the A/C button pops out but don't get pissed at me if it does not. and what do you mean by controls? the whole area behind the sliders?
  22. BINGO!!! definately check for torn boots and loose joint.
  23. i also hear that the steering wheel can be moved to the other side with out major work..
  24. nova- no go and dog tracking.
  25. when you unplugged the o2 was engine warm or cold? if warm then the sensor is prob ok for now. the system has to be warm to work precisely but seems to run a wee bit rich when cold normally.
