  1. Not to get off topic, but do a lot of research on them first...I have found mostly the split is 50/50 love them/ hate them. Most of the bad results were that the plug went out after like 5k miles, so out of warranty...Derek also wrote about his experience with them in the Spark plug review thread... Other then intake, exhaust, maybe the TB spacer if it really is useful, better plugs and wires, better injectors, one of the superchip things (not the ebay crap, the real one that you plug in and change settings), replace mechanical fan with electrical fan, supercharger from the Xterra, or just buying a VQ powered R50, i know of nothing else
  2. 01silva: go on youtube and search "aero pathfinder", you will find Chris's (02silverpathy) setup, thats the best sounding 3.5 I have heard so far...I am waiting until I can find a way to incorporate the 350Z's muffle into my truck though...
  3. The Bilstein will still work it will just limit your flex. The Rancho will give you more flex. Rancho does not recognize the item because it is designed for the lifted Durango, they never designed it for the Pathfinder. I had that model on my 97 and will be putting them on my 01. They fit perfectly, and I loved the ride. People who have Bilsteins love them as well. I am sure the KYB's are excellent as well, it is more up to you, but I don't think any of the others give the same flex as the Ranchos...
  4. That and the fact that in the winter people like me tend to leave the hubs locked when there is a threat of snow, which would be horrible to do on dry pavement with a welded front...
  5. The electronic suspension was only available in 96, they dropped it after that. To be honest, I wouldn't worry about trying to retain the electronic suspension, though you can order the parts from the dealer if you want to keep it.
  6. I can't tell you much about wheel sizing and all that, however, on my Xteraa S/C rims I have 265/65R17 with about a half inch clearance and they are well worn. I think a 265/70R17 would not fit without me purchasing a set of wheel adapters, which I did, to push the wheel about 1.5" from under the lower spring perch. Those wheels are 17x8, but do not stick out very far at all. The stock wheels on my 01 SE stick out far enough where the mounted 255/75R16 have could at least go to a 265 width and at least a 75 ratio at the width, they are clear of the lower spring perch as they sit.
  7. The general consensus is that any lift spring sold for the R50 will give you more lift than they are marketed at, so I don't think you will find a good option...
  8. Just as another note, I believe mine are 1.5" (couldn't tell you til I get home this weekend). I put a tape measure next to the sidewall and used a yardstick from the fender flare down to the tape measure to see what pushed it all the way out.
  9. I didn't have the money to spend on new sway bar links at the time, and after driving it and coming to the conclusion the ride wasn't bad w/o the front sway bar I decided to not put it back on, however with stock springs it needed to go back on...
  10. EXACTLY...this is the same reason why I purchased mine...I got mine for $135 on ebay, all I did was specifiy that I wanted a different set of open ended nuts to bolt up to the truck and he sent all the right stuff...just to give you an idea of the prices...
  11. I agree with Alex...when I lifted mine I had to remove the front sway bar to replace the links, and I just left it off because with the AC coils it didn't have much body roll...Then when I swapped back the stock springs to sell it, it had horrendous body roll, it was quite scary like that...
  12. The second hub they had, with part number 29091, is the correct one. I have a feeling that the first one on their site (20990 or w/e) is for the 4 cyl WD21s and D21s... The picture for the second one is wrong, it has the gold dial like the first one on that list...
  13. Why would that matter on an aluminum wheel? I used 1" wheel adapters I got off ebay that were for a 90's Yota, all you need is the proper lug nuts for the Yota thread and your good...I had great results with them...
  14. not to go too far off, but NOOOOO, go all motor on the Teg, I will cry if you turbo it... btw: I still owe you a drive of my 01, let me know if you wanna cash in while I am in College Park...
  15. I truly appreciate what you are doing...good luck with the process and def. start another thread, I am lifting my 5 speed but I still want more performance out of it, people without the VQ don't get it
  16. if you ordered from 4x4parts.com, i have found their customer service dealing with problems to be very good...
  17. Two different numbers for left and right struts. And Rancho doesn't know their RS9000XL shock fits an R50, but the RS999010XL does, it is what I used on my 97 and they are awaiting installation on my 01.
  18. The Rancho part number IS RS999010X. I think they list it as shocks for a lifted Durango. I have them, they are what you want, I did the research on them (called Rancho with the old part number on Deans website).
  19. As I already said in your intro thread, I have 255/75R16, and I can go wider (probably to 265) and taller (i have at least one inch of clearance between the tire and strut). The wheels our model has are pushed out pretty far, which allows for larger sizes without clearance issues...my Xterra S/C rims are tucked under the strut and thus limit my clearance to a 265/65R17 tire...
  20. Well the struts are from Australia, I thought they had a 3.2 Diesel over there? And I would go ask on the Australian Pathfinder forum about the struts, I'm sure they know better...I know at least Boston and Tyler Morgan are on that forum every once in a while, they could probably give you a link...
  21. I don't know the actual forces exerted, but I would imagine the force spread out over the surface area of three washers is not going to be suitable...
  22. I don't know how stiff the lowering setup is, but I think the stock R50 is fairly agile for an SUV, and I would love to drive one that is even tighter (and the 5 speed makes it a blast to drive as well)...I do not have any useful info for you unfortunately, but good luck and let us know how it turns out
  23. Maybe a group buy could be organized? I would purchase a set as long as they aren't outrageously expensive, however... Wouldn't a longer strut place more stress on the CV axle though? I though with a 1 inch spacer on top of the upper strut mount that overextends the axles, so how could a strut with longer extension not do the same thing?
  24. I noticed that the Mobil1 oil filter was about 1/2" longer than the OEM unit I removed on my 3.5...
