Muffler & High Flow Cat - suggestions needed
nige replied to 4PAWS's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
you don't have 2 cats. One of them is a resonator which is uneccessary and can be removed. I have a universal fit 2.25" magnaflow cat and a flowmaster 50 muffler. -
Hi Jim, I joined like a month after you stopped posting. I never got to say thanks for creating a place where we can all share a common interest! I've learned so much from this community and I seriously check this board like EVERY DAY now. If you need help with anything (i have some spare computer parts and a little bit of $) let me know. I am greatly indebt to this board. You look way better in that new picture as opposed to some of those older wheeling vids. It's good to see you have a handle on your health. :cool2: Anyways, it's nice to have you back. Let's see how the partsfinder looks, post a pic! Oh and about the divorce: Here's to a swing and a miss

right when i learned to drive in a 1990 chevy tracker. It started out doing doughnuts in the ski hill parking lot

Pioneers are good units, but I am partial to Alpine. I'm on my second h/u from them and i've yet to have a problem with it. If you can find one that has it, V-Drive pretty much eliminates the need for an extra amp to power your component set, but if you're going to put a subwoofer in there, you'll need a dedicated power source. My h/u pumps out 27 watts of RMS to each of it's 4 channels. It has all the gizmos needed to put amps and DVD screens and sat. radio. I paid about $250 off ebay 2 years ago, but my model (7894) is pretty scarce now. The alpine I bought for my miata 9 years ago still works almost as good as the day it was installed.

here's a short little video clip. The kinda sucks 'cause it was taken with my cellphone, but i'll do a proper one with my canon sd600 as soon as I get the chance. It's so short she doesn't get out of second gear but you'll get the idea of what it sounds like: Lil' video thanks for hosting it luker and the MM crew

here's a couple threads about my endeavors with rust: Hole in floor Shiatty fender I'm no stranger to grinding and sanding. I spent 2 weekends before the winter hit underneath the truck, wire wheeling the frame and underside to get rid of the flakes. I brushed on some tremclad black paint and got it oil sprayed before the city started salting the roads. I also grinded down and filled the passenger side wheel wells. It was worse than the driver's side and i've given up on the front fenders. I'm still trying to find some jy parts to replace them but every truck i've come across in the jy has the same problem. You will never beat the rust. only delay the inevitable

my truck also had a hole under the rear seats and also underneath the gas pedal. I had to cut all the rusted metal out and bolt some new plates from underneath to cover it all up. There is a seam in the body right under the rear seats that salt and slush likes to get stuck on and eat away. The hole under the gas pedal probably came from constant heating and cooling from the exhaust in the winter time. It melts the salty slush which works it's way deeper between the metal and eventually eats everything it touches. I know my repairs wont last another couple years, but at least I slowed it down a little. It was getting pretty bad under there

look what came in the mail this morning: isn't it cute?

here are some links for you to check out:: Killarney Provincial Park Algonquin Provincial Park Ministry Of Natural Resources Fishing Home Page
-
Yeah, Algonquin Park, Killarney, etc are between 6-8 hours from buffalo ny. There's not much for rafting, but the canoe tours are absolutely bitchin' in Algonquin - just pack light if you're spending a night or two out there. You'll have to do some portaging. There are also day camps all over the park too which are accessable by car. No gas engined boats are allowed inside the park. Killarney is a little bit further north but it's just as, if not nicer than Algonquin. It's on the north east end of georgian bay on lake huron. Lots of hiking and some of the best fisihing in the entire province are there. Just don't forget to buy a license from a local tackle shop. I don't think you can buy them from Canadian Tire stores anymore. The Ministry of Natural Resources loves to bust americans that don't have licenses so make sure you know all the rules before you bring any fish home. I am very familiar with all the regualtions about fishing so if you have a question ask me.

pump up the tires to about 30 or so, put at least 1 tank of premium in it and run it all the way through, that should burn out most gunk accumulated in the engine from short trips.. I got the best milage between 55-60ish mph. if you have a auto, just try to keep it in OD on low rpms on the flat sections. Gas before you get to the hills and coast up them and give her some gas on the way down (watch out for the cops though) That's how I pulled 620 km out of one tank between kentucky and tennessee on the i-75. My 95 made it from kitchener to bradenton in 24 hours on the button with 2 drivers By the looks of the weather, it should be smooth sailing tomorrow. Have fun!

i just start drving slower and play the train game. If they don't back off after that, i'll turn on the reverse floodlight.

if you're in a pinch, you can repeatedly squish the piston in with a clamp and block of wood and push on the brake to make it slide out. If you do this 10-15 times it should loosen up the piston so it works marginally better. I had to do this on my brother's MR2 to keep him going for another week before he got enough money to buy new calipers. If the boot around the piston is cracked, you'll need to get a new caliper. Like mws says, be careful on icy roads!!!! oh yeah, when you install the calipers, make sure the air bleeder is facing up - I was in a hurry installing mine and I couldn't figure out why the lines wouldn't bleed properly sssh and keep your greasy mitts off the rotor and pad surface
-
yeah, you don't want to buy a set of those from the dealership. I have disc brakes on the rear and they cost more than the primary brake pads do.
-
they were pulling through on the styling last year, now it's getting pussified again  who needs a V8 when you had that beauty of a V6? maybe they put on some weight
-
i got myself one of these: I couldn't resist! I used to have micro-machines when i was a kid
-
i always thought that dash was exclusive to the '95 year.
-
that's exactly what I did. It cost me about $14 for the roll and i traced my old ones on it and cut them out. I could even re-use the old snaps the held them to the wheel well.
