  1. Help :help: I am a stereo buff but there are a few wires that just are not making sense on the factory wiring harness for the stereo. I know I could buy a kit, but the wires that are there are just fine, as long as I can figure out what is what. Does anyone who might have bought a kit in the past still have their color codes/diagrams/directions still lying around. This would be a HUGE help to me. The local shop doesn't want to help unless I buy their kit. Anyone, anyone,... a little help.
  2. :cool2: Finally some decent answers. And after a thousand calls, many web sites, and a few trips here and there I think I have found my answers... I found a shop with a down to earth person who was willing to listen to my ideas. He does not stock my exact preferences, but will do the work on/with what I bring him. So... a Manaflow Hi-Flow Cat for $90 mail order a Flowmaster 50series for $110 mail order... Hey "SLICK", you got a great deal at $85. WOW :o 2.25 pipe throughout This will total out at about $350+/-. I guess it is about the average cost as what you guys paid. I'll just be happy when I get it all done. Next up is the JWT pop charger and ecu. I'll have to sit back for a while before the headers and new cams. Thanks guys
  3. You guys are killing me. I need specifics. All the local shops I am calling are giving me a hard time. They are saying I need some specific cat ($269) he can't give me an exact price ($200+/-) just for the muffler? etc. !!! :X :furious: I have found 1 hope, a guy that will put the stuff on if I want to buy the cat and muffler my self. There are like a ton of cats and 10 different versions of Flowmaster 50 Series (in/offset out, offset in/offset out, etc) Can someone please tell me EXACTLY what model, size, brand, configuration, etc. Yes I am asking you to spell it out because that's what all my local rip-off artist are asking for. If I can't get help here, well, I just don't know
  4. I know this seems to be a dead horse... asked MANY times. And yes have searched. But give this newbie (me) some direct answers, PLEASE I have looked at my stock exhaust system... 1. It looks to me like I have two cats in line then the muffler. Is this right? 2. If I go to a shop and have them replace my current exaust with a 'high flow' cat and a 'performance' muffler will he leave me with two cats still? 3. Is there really any improvement in the new stuff, other than better sound? I am looking for any horsepower gains I can get, at a reasonable cost. 4. I am seeing a consensus on a Flowmaster 50 series. Is this the predominant 'best' muffler going out there? LASTLY... 5. I see people mention a 'High Flow' cat, but no mention of specific names, models, etc. I have looked up cats at different websites, but they do not specify 'high flow'. What ones are you guys getting? :help:
  5. Sorry but I copied this from frommy original post in the newbie section. Anyway please read... :help: Hello to all, I just recently bought my first Nissan Pathfinder, Red/Burgundy? 95' XE. I call it super STOCK. It doesn't even have power locks oh well. It seems to be in really good shape, only 84k miles. The previous (original) owner was an older guy who pretty much just drove back and forth to work. ANYway... When I first started searching the web to see what was out there on my Pathfinder I came across the Nissan Performance Mag project Pathfinder. WOW :cool2: what a find. I purchased mine for the exact same reason. even more :cool2: So a couple of questions... what are some opinions on this Project Car article? Obviously I am not going to spend thousands of dollars on Volk Racing wheels. I will save those for my autocross car. But I do like the color and style. Is there anything elses out thier similar, but more practicle? The article mentions Nissan Motor Sports parts. I called a place and they said they never made a muffler like described. What gives??? I would also like to find out where to get the cams they mention and how much are they? A different type of question... Where to mount amps, crossovers, etc. if I was to put something in? I am not looking to make this into some glitzed up bass machine. However I would like to improve the factory system with some bass. I have a lot of stuff left over from pryor upgrade and things, just can't see where everyone put things and still have usable space. ***Also, I only briefly, but can someone direct me to a good existing hole in the firewell that I can run a "Hot" wire through )ie power lead. I am sure I will have many more questions later. I am already looking around for a good muffler, cat and the JWT filter setup and ECU. PLEASE I'm all ears and waiting for everyones replies, questions and comments. Thanks ...................................................... Since this I just noticed something. I wish I had looked under the car better before buying. I now see that both front CV boots are ripped. How serious would all you say thi is? How hard to repair? How much $
