  1. I can't say anything about the bushing since I haven't done anything other than a lift with my rear end yet, but as for the gearing in the 'new' rear end I don't know of any way to check without the donor vehicle. Sorry. I guess you'll have to count.
  2. There are two gearing options available, 4.363 and 4.636. You can check which you have by reading a plate with info on the passenger (right, I'm American) of the firewall in the engine bay if I remember correctly. otherwise they should be the same. Others on here know axles better than I do though, so hopefully they'll chime in.
  3. If it's about the same cost I'd say get the AC done professionally, so that you know it's done right. If you can't get it done right it'll need to be paid for twice. So motor in your rig and now tranny in your wife's...careful, bad things come in threes!
  4. Arrived at a local nature center to do some RC trailin' with local guys and there was a lowered Infiniti there, so of course I had to park next to it! Poor guy left his sunroof cracked open, and it was raining.
  5. I feel like lots of us on here wish we could do this, but for many it's our daily driver. You're in a unique position here, and I say go for it!!!
  6. I think he was referring to this: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/36957-sf-bay-area-member-roll-call/page-3?do=findComment&comment=789790
  7. Big block swap! Those are both some seriously cool rides man, the Pathy just looks so cool though.
  8. Those should fit perfectly fine. I'd check clearance with the inner fender and trim if necessary.
  9. What size are the tires? It sounds like clearance on the strut isn't the problem, but more likely in the fender and wheel liner. If that is the case, I would highly suggest trimming over spacers.
  10. A video demonstrating the sound could be helpful, but I agree with the heat shield thought. How much of the exhaust was replaced? There might be portions close to the engine left that have original shielding.
  11. If you don't want to trim, a small spacer lift (like from sfcreation.com) would give you the clearance you need and improve the look even more. Trimming should do the trick though.
  12. Just a warning when it comes to custom front bumpers, you'll probably want to mod your airbox. When you remove the stock bumper you expose the stock air intake.
  13. Do you have a vid of how it sounds under normal driving conditions? It sounded cool in that other video, but that was under high revs I'm sure.
  14. Some fun at Rocks and Valleys Offroad Park.
  15. Did some really hardcore wheeling today at Rocks and Valleys Offroad Park. Although it was fun, I'm not going back again with this truck; it was at its limit. Side steps are dented a lot, muffler is dented, and I tore a CV boot again. Only did 9 miles, but it took 7 hours! I scraped on rocks more times than I can count...hopefully my friend who was riding shotgun/spotting got good pictures because I didn't get many. I'll be posting up later. On another note, with my hubs unlocked my orange 4wd light comes on after a little over an hour on the highway. Anybody else have this? Is it necessarily a problem? It seemed to drive fine...
  16. Backspacing depends on how big of tires you want. If you want 31" or less, then you can have stock backspacing. If you want 32" or more you need 3.75" backspacing and you need to be willing to trim a bit.
  17. Uh-oh, what simple thing did they not know how to do?
  18. Going to Rocks and Valleys ORV Park tomorrow. Supposedly it's pretty hardcore, hope I don't break anything! Hard obstacles supposedly have go-arounds...they better, haha.

  19. Oops, I was talking front. From what I've heard rear doesn't work as well with XJ stuff. The only reason front works is because the width of the front mounting points on the XJ and the R50 were the same; not the case in the rear.
  20. That has been done and is possible with the XJ Cherokee bumpers. I don't have the threads bookmarked anymore now that I have a bumper, but just put "NPORA XJ Bumper Mod" into Google and you should find some good stuff. CDN_S4 has some useful pictures in his build thread.
  21. https://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/19962004-r50-pathfinder-ring-pinion-gears-c-38_1322_1349.html Thought I was onto something but looks like it's just rears. Sorry!
  22. I also saw a post on my Instagram the other week from some company that makes Nissan truck parts (it's a big company, just can't remember what they're name is for some reason...I think they do a lot of WD21 stuff maybe?) and it said that they were selling reproduced NISMO gear ratios for R50's. Might be worth looking into if I can remember the company.
